Update review: food was delicious the first time so I get them another shot. Everything is upright this time in beautiful bags. Wish some of the orders were fuller. But still good and very presentable this time. đź‘Ť All the food was shoved into a bag vertical and my food came mushed together; not appealing to eat for a $20 appetizer; all my other meals/desserts came vertical, my rice pudding liquid leaked everywhere due to vertically placed and dropped on the floor without ringing my bell at all..so long for a $127 worth of food.

The food is always fresh. I usually dine in. They have great table service and a friendly staff. You can make your own combination of meats on a plate from off the menu. The downside is that they forget to bring the whole order at once. They usually forget to give you the sauces. Sometimes they forget to warm up the bread. The bread is good when warmed up and eaten with the hummus.

Been coming here since 2019, and the food never stops to AMAZE me. The iskender, the cheese cigars, and baklava, the lamb kebobs, the Turkish tea...just wow. This is my go to place when I like having good company with family and friends. So to anyone wanting to try good Mediterranean food, or just a really laid back and wonderful atmosphere, with motuh watering dishes, I recommend this place for sure. Love that I get to become friends with the staff. And the warm welcome always brightens up my day for sure.

This restaurant is a gem of Midwood. The people of Midwood are religious Jews, Turks, Russian, Hispanic, Balkan, and Arab. We're immigrants. You won't find "New York quality" here, but you will find lots of damned good ethnic food. Lots of Turkish and middle eastern eateries in this neighborhood, most notably Memo on Kings Highway. It's hard not comparing Aksaray with Memo... I truly love Memo, and the people who work there are some of the nicest people in Midwood, but as another reviewer points out, Aksaray might actually have the upper hand in the food department. The waitresses are very friendly. I think they may have too many tables to wait on because it's slightly difficult getting their attention, but that's not their fault. I think they need another waitress here. When you walk in, you walk past a counter that has uncooked kebabs and meats that you can purchase and cook at home, along side a dessert counter where you'll see 3 different kinds of baklava as well as other desserts like rice pudding. The food here bursts with flavor. This is a true gem of the neighborhood. House Bread: A+ Very flavorful breads with a beautiful golden crust on top and a delicious crunchy/chewy crust on the bottom. The inside is fluffy and delicious. Goes really well with the olive oil supplied with each table. Magnificent bread! Lamb Soup: C+ Not overly fond of this soup. I was expecting something like Harcho, but got something like New England Clam Chowder with lamb replacing clam. Slightly sour, and very homogeneous the way chowders can be. Not my favorite. Lentil Soup: B+ An excellent lentil soup. It's not a "chunky" kind of soup: it's not one of those lentil soups where you'll be chewing the lentils. It's more liquidy than that. But great flavors. Above average. Humus: A- An excellent hummus. Garlicky, flavorful, smooth. If you like hummus, you'll want to try it. Lamb Adana Kebab: A- Very soft and succulent lamb. Absolutely delicious. Probably not appropriate for small kids because it's ever so slightly spicy, but it's perfect for adults! ;-P Iskender Kebab: A+ Might be the best Iskender kebab I've ever eaten. Firstly, they use that A+ yummy bread. Secondly, the lamb gyro they use for the iskender kebab is soft, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Thirdly, the yogurt they use is A+ as well. And fourthly, the pièce de résistance is the brilliant and skilled way the chef fries the bread and uses oils and peppers to enhance the flavor of the dish. It couldn't possibly be any better than it is. Aksaray Kofte Special: A+ The same as the iskender kebab, but instead of using lamb gyro, they meat is ground lamb "mini meatballs". All the same comments apply. This might be my favorite dish on the menu. Bakalva: A Delicious. Still crispy; not soggy.

15% tip/gratuity is automatically added to bill when dining in. Order the lunch specials, lamb gyro and lamb adana. The lamb from both dishes were juicy and seasoned well (though the gyro can be considered a bit too salty). The rice was super fluffy and flavorful. The kind of rice that you can keep eating even if you are super full. Shepherd salad was kind of bland, but does balance out the dish overall.

I've been coming here since 2011. The food here is healthy, nutritious and tasty. This is the only place within a 5 mile radius where I can get quality food late at night or early in the morning. This is slow food served at a faster pace. I am grateful to have access to a healthy food option like this in my area.

A no-frills Turkish restaurant that opens till late, offering the most scrumptious kebabs, salads, and soups this part of Brooklyn. They serve a generous serving of homemade bread (probably the best we've ever tried again and again anywhere in the borough), warm and tempting, together with our meal, as well as offers half orders of most items on their menu. We keep coming back to this place, and we know exactly why.

This is one of our favorite Turkish restaurants in all of New York. Aksaray is a gem - no frills, fast and friendly service, great prices, and just authentic and delicious Turkish cuisine. I love getting their soups - the tripe soup is as legit as it gets. Portions are huge - the Iskender kebab is enough for two people, and the Adana kebab was so rich and juicy. Also, we love the fresh bread that they serve on the side. Credit card accepted. Highly recommend if you’re seeking authentic Turkish food!

Great food at reasonable price. However when you dine in they will automatically will add the tip to the bill. Also the sauces are very watery.

Unreal!!! This place is open 24/7!!! Best feeling ever to get a good meal any time of day. Love that they have all the meat freshly made and you can see the kebobs fore they are cooked. The kabobs were seasoned well, flavourful, juicy and cooked to perfection. The gyro wasnt that great. I personally wish it was cooked longer to get more of a crisp to it.

Homemade foods will make you feel like you are in wonderland. I have been visiting Aksaray for more than 10 years, and I highly recommend it. They have original recipes for Mediterranean food. I can clearly say that “best in the town”. Stay away from fake Kebap/ Gyro places to avoid unhealthy food, and come to visit Aksaray, they even have family dining room.
