Thank you the beautiful home going red velvet cake with the Barbados flag as icing for my daddy. It was a work of art photographed by many. The chicken and beef cocktail patties were delicious.

Got a specialty cake. It tasted great and looked beautiful, but it fell apart. The cake itself was thick and moist and delicious. Forever loved Allen's bakery ... cake with pineapple filling
Stopped in for something sweet. The Currant Roll was the best I ever tasted! I also got the delicious codfish balls. If the balls aren't hot when you purchase, put them in a toaster oven when you get home - they crisp up and taste so good!
Great experience! Line was long but went by quickly (probably a 7 minute wait until I was serviced). The staff was super friendly and gave me a choice between a beef patty or a salt fish and bake. I chose the salt fish and bake which was delicious! Definitely a great quick meal for breakfast or lunch when on the run.
The currant roll was great, I love all things raisins in deserts. I love that they raisins were highlighted without taking away from the flaky sweetness of the pastry.

Always amazing traditional pastries. Wonderful staff, pleasant and easy going. My parents make it a point every year we visit New York to stop by and pick up items before we head back out. I'm an adult now and do the same.
Great currant rolls. Allan’s is a well known bakery, for good reason. I wish they would bring themselves back into the 21st century and accept cashless payments. Also, please allow for Uber/Postmates/etc pickups BEFORE 5PM?

Black currant roll is excellent with a crunchy crust, sweet and mildly tangy currants and a rich dough. It is a popular choice of many customers. Hardo bread has a crunchy crust and a fine texture inside, like an Irish soda bread. Cod fritters have texture of salted cod fiber, a unique taste. You should try it to see what I mean.

Picked up my treats for the winter. We only come to New York a couple times a year and Allan's Bakery is always on our list to stop in and pick up our baked goods. When we get home we slice them up and freeze them. Works perfect for us. We heat up the slices when we want them. I have never had a bad Allan's bread or coconut bake 😁. My favorites! Love to support a black owned west indian business!
It's clean Covid 19 prevention in place. This was the first time I was in there was impressed at all carribbean snack, bread and cow foot souse was a little disappointed they did not have chicken foot souse but it's cool now I love current rolls and they have them so a got 3 they taste is ok I did not like how they were so very soft and felt they might fall apart but that's just me I like my a little sturdy and not as moist inside the souse was good also. I will go in if am in the area but won't buy the current rolls .
