Why are there so few reviews of KANAN?! They are hands down the best traditional (I'm not really qualified, but love Indian food) Indian food takeout/delivery in the Carroll Gardens area. We have been ordering from them for years, and they never disappoint. Don't sleep.

I ordered a takeout special that included an appetizer and an entrée, I chose the chicken samosa and the chicken tikka masala (spicy) that had naan on the side with two kinds of chutneys. The combination of flavors is quite good

If I want a vegetarian meal I order Indian. But Indian food is never spicy enough around these parts (read: all of America.) Thankfully, I found Kanan today. I ordered a little of everything: Tandoori Vegetables, Radha Patties, Aloo Saag and Lentil Soup. I heartily recommend the Radha Patties: fried potato cakes with yogurt, chickpeas in a tamarind chutney. So tasty. I measure the quality of a good Indian place by the Saag (spinach) and this place makes one that is perfect in texture and spice. Absolutely delicious.
I usually get delivery, it arrives in under an hour, the delivery special includes an appetizer, naan , entree. Under $20, plus tax and delivery tips. Sometimes the weather is not great but i always tip xtra for the guys bringing it to me. I was getting mild for a while but moved on to spicy on all my recent orders, anything recommended, order your standby or get something new and exciting, I was surprised the seafood was amazing, it’s an authentic experience located on an industrial strip near the gowanus. Humble yet delicious, the high volumes of delivery orders indicate a loyal customer following.
The food is delicious, the prices can't be beat (especially for their special), and it's prepared quickly. It's become our go-to Indian restaurant for takeout and we've ordered from here about 6 times in the last six months.
I had ordered several items on their menu for our office party. Ms. Suchi (owner) was the one who took my orders and she was very kind, generous and helped me choose the vegan items from their menu. Despite having a limited budget, she gave me a discount and was able to accommodate all my requests.
They delivered my orders on time, the portions were huge and everyone at the party ENJOYED and were SATISFIED with the delicious entrees that Kanan restaurant provided.
To Ms. Suchi and the staff at Kanan, I extend my sincerest gratitude for making our party a memorable one.
Don’t go in there to dine, but pickup is the best. Best go to Indian in the area, perfect offers and delicious every time.
There are a lot of great Indian cuisine options in the area, this is by far my favorite.
I love dining in and getting take out from Kanan. The music is very relaxing if you're dining in. They're usually busy with delivery orders. The owners are so friendly and genuine... and their food is delicious! Vegan dishes are clearly marked on the menu and everything I've tried is full of flavor. I love the chana saag, aloo saag, bharta, naan, papadom... really, everything!!! They are also rolling out an oat milk option for their masala chai... you've got to try it. It's the perfect way to end a delicious meal there.
One of our local favorites. The takeout special has made many a weekend night better and the family that runs this place is so nice. The lamb rogan josh is my usual order.

My brother and I got high and wanted some good food, so we ordered from Kanan. It took about an hour for it to be delivered, but boy was the wait worth it. First of all, they gave us some nice big portions, I had enough to eat for next day’s lunch and dinner. The food arrived at the perfect temperature, not too hot that we couldn’t dig in. The samosas were filled to the brim and packed with flavor, they were kinda dry but once you added some chutney oh my god it was soooooooo gooood. I ordered the Chana masala and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had! So flavorful and it was the perfect balance of chickpeas and sauce, not too runny and not too dry. We also ordered some naan and mango kulfi to eat together and it was heavenly. The naan was nice and fluffy and the kulfi was delicious and still intact, which I was surprised by cuz I thought that since the food came hot the kulfi would have melted but nope! Overall the experience was a 10/10 would highly recommended. I am definitely buying from Kanan again! Thank you :)

Found this place by chance but it’s my new neighborhood go to! The food was delicious- I especially recommend the bindi masala (okra). The prices are great, too. And the people that work there are lovely!
They have free delivery! Delivery companies take a huge cut of their profits, so please try and order directly if you can. Their “website” is also a fake set up by a delivery company trying to make money off of them.
Delicious food and a wonderful staff. We dined in for a big family gathering and they were delightful.
We all ordered takeout for delivery. I ordered the Takeout Delivery Special which comes with a choice of appetizer and entree for $17.99. The Chicken Samosas were really good and savory. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very delicious! World do takeout from here again.
