After enjoying my first Greenwich food walking tour, i joined another tour in Flatbush. Covering the American (specifically New York's cuisine) in Greenwich, this time we headed all the way to the Caribbean cuisine.
At this small shop, which screams "Ice Cream," we tried a typical Jamaican dish, not an icecream. It was a weird yet tasty mix of flavors and textures. Black rice, some yellow pasta with shredded vegetables, stew of celery with herbs, beans, and others all mixed together. In spit of this not-much-appealing plate, it actually tasted absolutely great. Definitely recommended for a try!
Mmmmm, yummy, I love Scoops, Brooklyn's finest Ital spot!
The rice balls are great for a quick lunch. My daughter is lactose intolerant and it’s so great that they have 4 choices of lactose-free flavors. It would be even better if they were opened at noon for lunch.
The food is delicious. This small establishment caters to the health enthusiasts. My first visit with Sandra was like a kid in a candy store (wanted to try a little of everything) even a protien shake with Sea Moss. We also met the owner who was very humble with a wealth of knowledge about the products he sells.
Droooooool. The grape nut ice cream is amazing and you cannot tell the difference. His food is also amazing. Veggie chunks is a must!
Scoops has been a staple in Flatbush neighborhood for decades. They always have a delicious variety of vegan foods to choose from.
Wonderful little shop full of vegan treats. About 8 different Tofutti flavors, and other goodies. A++
Been coming here for decades, luv luv there okra corn soup, but need more okra in the mixture!!! The soup always hit the spot..
Best food I ever had. Try ice-cream before you leave. Owner is nice.
