I'm not a sports fan by any means and while the restaurant is decked out and is a Dallas Cowboy memorial, the food and service is great.

Just left this place a few minutes ago , this was my first visit here. Glad to say they have a new customer . Food was very well portioned, hot and fresh. Friendly attentive staff. Extremely reasonable prices for the portions served. Glad I took a chance and tried them out ....
We were visiting Brownsville from Dallas and looking for a small local Mexican restaurant to have lunch. Came across Sylvia's on Google and noticed the good reviews so we tried it out. The food was absolutely delicious! We opted for one of the daily specials (goat meatballs with rice, beans and fresh corn tortillas) and loved it. They brought us freshly fried tortilla chips and a warm salsa (that could have been eaten as a soup...yum) to start and we had a couple Diet Cokes, all for about $14. Highly recommend!

Sylvia's was delicious . if you are a Cowboys fan this is your place to come. The food is delicious. it's not expensive and their Cowboys memorabilia goes from adorable to intense depending on where your eye wanders.
Do yourself a favor and take the drive to Southmost. BTW their corn tortillas are made in house and they are delightful. The waitstaff is friendly and will always greet you with a big smile.
Not bad when you're in the area for business. Food/service was slow but cooked to order. If you're a gringo, the waitstaff speak English, despite our initial fears walking in as the only non-spanish speaking group. Salsa was very fresh. I had the Mexican plate. Not bad.

Really good tasting, authentic Mexican food. Need more space though but overall really good. If your a Dallas fan , love the decor.
Decent prices, good customer service. Their food always needs salt, but I prefer adding my own. Tasty food, great coffee.
