Great food, great bang for the buck. Ordered the carne asada fries for brunch of sorts and was very satisfied with my order. There's a very fresh quality about the ingredients that don't make them taste canned and that's a real virtue these days for cheap eats. It was a good amount of food and I wisely chose to skip some of the fries lest I eat myself to misery, although the really hungry could easily finish the plate. A small knock might be that some of the bits of meat were overdone, but that's part of the nature of chopped carne asada, you get little crunchy pieces as well and that's fine with me, I like the texture contrast.
Salsa was also good and the chips nice and warm. If I was not in quite the hurry I would have liked to stay longer and just savor things a bit more but I has to run.
Atmosphere as others have pointed out is very quaint. It's a hole in the wall but it's clean and simple and I'm fine with that. I don't need the modern, opulent Orange County vibe that a lot of people expect. Frankly I hate that. Just order up and find your own table. They'll bring it out to you.
The only thing that wasn't clear was what to do with the dishes. There was a standard trash can but nowhere to place the empty dishes aside from the obvious disposables. Hopefully I didn't make a big faux pas leaving it at the table. I should have asked them what to do but I did have to run. Oops.
Wow, the food is delicious and service is exceptional.
Bernie's place when I first saw this small mom-and-pop Mexican food restaurant I didn't think much but once I tasted the great Fresh Mexican plates my favorite was the steak nachos wow talk about a hefty serving of steak with nacho cheese tomato and onions salsa and some other ingredients man this was awesome my taste buds were flying high this is a small place but it's very good food and fresh I would recommend this place to a friend it may not look like much small but their food is great you got to try to believe it
The food there fantastic, the burgers ar great and the fries are surprisingly tasty not to much salt but very good. I would recommend this place to many, and the serving per person its perfect.
Probably the best Mexican food in the area that I've been to so far. Friendly and lovely staff. Cozy little place that has outdoor seating because of covid so you can still enjoy a sit down meal. Would definitely recommend.
It's good. But depending of the person preparing your food it's slightly off... some do garnish ... some dont. I preferred the older gentlemen to cook my food. It tastes better
The food is very good. I have breakfast there often. I just had the taquitos. Wasn't impressed, to be honest. Tasted alright. Just a tad bit on the small side for the price. Overall, great place to eat.
I was driving to fullerton,around 9 in the morning,going to drop a client in the fullerton airport, and I was in a mood for a breakfast burrito, and I saw Bennie's place, and my mind reac quick, I dropped my client, drove back, park and went inside and order a chorizo and eggs breakfast burrito, I asked what's inside,the response was, chorizo and eggs,cheese and potatoes,simple and delicious ingredients, I love it,and a reasonable price, looking around I like the place clean, and the home cooking smell, the menu is extensive, from a burritos and tacos enchiladas,caldos and plate of carne asada,and how terminetor said,I WILL BACK.
Very good food... i ordered a chicken torts and it was delicious... service is very good too... nice young ladies is very attentive to take your order.
Tasty Mexican food. Very small place. Authentic made food. Reasonable prices. Worth a visit. Place is not fancy. But it is clean.
