Ordered a cheese roll, a guava danish and a potato ball and loved all three! This place was buzzing and after trying these treats, I quickly understood why. The staff are very efficient and the food is very fresh. Cannot wait until I’m next able to eat a potato ball!

Now I know why everyone goes gaga over Porto’s. Best Cuban Bakery in Cali! Me and my sister queued in both take away and dine in line so we can have a try of their pastries and savory dine-in dishes. Fresh, tasty and worth a 40 minute drive from our hotel in Los Angeles. We even brought 6 boxes of their assorted pastries in San Fo.

Must Try: Potato balls, Guava and Cheese Strudel, Cheese Rolls, Empanadas, Mango Turnover, Croquettes, Medianoche and Lechon Plate. 🙂

Porto's is a must try, just look at the lines. That being said, the lines do go faster then you'd expect. Every time I've been here, I make a mental note of what to get next time. Needless to say, that list is very long. I haven't had anything that I don't like here and I don't think I ever will.

Food here was pretty good and the wait time was shorter than expected.
The service was great.
Only downfall was that they forgot to order my drink and I was waiting for over 20 minutes.
When we asked the waiter that's when we realised that the order wasn't put through.
They apologised and gave me the drink for free which was nice.
There is a wide variety of food at this place so it's hard to make up your mind.
There are also extensive desserts.
But all the food is quite yummy and the price is good.
Would recommend this place to family and friends.

After Dinner Dessert Spot

Nice place to grab coffee and pastries after dinner. The options are plenty. The lines are usually long but they move fast. There is plenty of seating. :-)

One of the food highlights of my trip. Everything I had was so good.
Vegetariana sandwich was served with banana chips. Every bite was just perfect. A lady standing in the queue to be served even asked me which one was it.
Cheese bites and potato bites were amazing.
Also, they serve stronger coffee than most of US cafes. I went for an extra shot and was buzzing.

One of the places I would highly recommend if you are visiting LA. The quality of the food is high and it is also different from the usual stuff. The latte was a little weak but the ice mocha was one of the best I have had. The pulled pork plate with banana chips was really special. Potato balls and empanadas were great as well. Very, very crowded. Glad of the car park out the back but even this was packed.

Almost universally celebrated for their Cuban Sandwich, Potato Balls plus a stunning array of pastries, Portos has withstood the test of time in a city where “new” often seems to be misinterpreted as “best,” and now with three locations spread throughout the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area including an enormous outlet in Burbank the only real questions when visiting are “how hungry are you?” and “how long are you willing to wait?”

I've been to Portos many times and am always impressed by the selection, the prices and their ability to get you fairly punctual service despite the sheer volume of patrons. I like to get a Tres Lech , Coffee cake, chocolate mousse, guava cheese puff, or tiramisu. Last visit I tasted their chocolate chip cookies and found them to be very good also. Not too crispy but not mushy. A firm but chewy not overly sweet cookie. I was sad to come to the conclusion that the quality and size of the Pastrami sandwich (my go to meal) has been declining each year that I visit from Toronto. About 4 years ago when we first laid eyes on each other it was fatty and juicy and full of meat. Last visit it seemed like it had gone on a serious diet and was a shadow of its once voluptuous self. Baked goods wise, Portos can't be beat but with disappointments like Pastrami Zero (diet Pastrami lol) and the unimpressive Cubano sandwich, I can only really give Portos a 4.0

One of the busiest restaurants I've ever seen. They usually have 2 long lines with 3-5 dozen people waiting about 10 min to order. Then there's another line to get a seat in the main seating area while you wait for your food to be served.

They specialize in sandwiches and you can't go wrong with their hot corned beef!

I ordered their Cubano during my last visit and was a little disappointed as it lacked any punch.

Be sure to order at least one of their potato balls - I recommend the one stuffed with meat - as they're very tasty and well seasoned.

I also tried their chocolate chip cookie last time and regret not ordering another dozen to bring back home to Canada with me. They were good!Peta Merrick

Absolutely delicious food at affordable prices. Great selection of pastries! The only negative is it has long lines most of the time. But if you are up for delicious breakfast or pastries, this is the place to go!

I don’t think there’s a finer Lunch place in all of Los Angeles, than Porto’s. Problem is, the whole of Los Angeles also thinks there’s no finer place for Lunch. We know this because that every time you go there all of Los Angeles seems to be ahead of you in line waiting to get their Cuban sandwich on.

Now, part of the allure is how inexpensive it is. Odds are you are walking out of Porto’s for around ten bucks, drink included. But let’s face it, people are showing up because the sandwiches are damn good, the fact that they’re a real value is just icing on the cake.

Incredible sandwiches and bakery items - do NOT be intimidated by long lines. I found the long line intimidating for lunch hour, but my friends said it was actually a benefit so you could really look at all the fabulous offerings. The Cuban sandwich with fried plantains was FANTASTIC! Also had bites of the chicken croquettes and potato ball - which has a tasty beef filing I have been trying to figure out the spices it contained for about the last 48 hours....

Macaroons were fantastic. All the prices are ridiculously low for the quality of food.

Also had my first celebrity sighting - Andy Garcia was there.

Great food at an amazing price. This place is incredible. Where else you still get great sandwich for less than $5, or a meat pie or a potato/cheese/chicken ball for ...$1 (yep - one dollar)!

Very tasty food, everything is fresh, served very quickly. Outstanding selection of sandwiches, pies, and I'm not even talking about the bakery which is to die for.

Can't recommend this place high enough if you are looking for the tasty meal at a great price (I personally want to thank Garrett, our guide at Warner Brothers studios for his recommendation).

Must visit. An amazing business. Always packed, great food, excellent value. The cakes and pastries are very, very good. Be sure to stop by on your way to the airport and pick up a cake to take. Prices are excellent, they'll box it for you and you'll be a hero upon arrival wherever you are headed. Don't miss visiting one!

Sweet Stuff. My friend recommended we try this, and I'm so glad we did. While I can't speak for the cafe, the bakery is amazing. Oh, and did I mention inexpensive? My croissant was perfect, and the creme brulee... yum. I can't wait to go back!

No regrets here. I've yet to go to Porto's when there wasn't an intimidating line and the place was not packed. Fear not, the line moves relatively quickly, and you'll need the time to figure out what you want to eat. The choices are extensive, and the bakery items are gorgeous. Getting waited on and seated is a bit slow, but well worth the wait. The bread is fresh and spectacular and the meats are excellent. Everything is absolutely delicious, and it's a bit of a nervous breakdown ordering experience with a mix of controlled chaos. I love this place, and while it can be a daunting experience to wade through at times, I would recommend it highly to everyone. One of my all time favorite places ANYWHERE.

It's a taste of home!. Amazing! I remember going there as a child and the small bakery that started it all. Even though much has changed, the food has never lost it's authentic roots! If only NM had a Porto's!

Very busy place. When someone told me that there was a Cuban restaurant in Burbank, I jumped at the chance to try it. I expected it to be a sit down restaurant, not a "fast food" type place. When you walk in, you notice that there are going to be long lines. It's the type of place that you wait on line get to the cashier, tell them what you want, pay...then sit down with a sign and a number. They bring the food out to you. The food was ok. Service was subpar...I guess good for what I would consider a fast food joint.

Would I recommend it? If you want real Cuban food, I'd recommend a more traditional Cuban restaurant. I have to admit that it has a large variety of pastries. Maybe I am jaded from having had Cuban food Little Havana, Miami and along Bergenline in New Jersey. I really think it's just an ok place.

Traffic, Parking, & Lines. The food is amazing and well worth the 15 to 30 minute wait in line to get it. It has indoor & outdoor seating as well a a bakery line and cafe line. Love the sourdough batards!

Delicious!!!. I can't believe this place exists in Burbank, and that it's taken me this long to try it! The Cubano sandwich was incredible, the best I've had and I've tried a few. I highly recommend you try a potato ball, ham croquet, meat pie, and a chorizo empanada while you're here. And if you spend more than $20 for two, I'd be shocked. Incredible value for great Cuban food!!

I still want to try their sandwiches! But I have tried their potato balls which are the best hands down! Also, if you have a craving for something sweet, the have the best dessert. This place is a must if you're in the area. Only bad thing might be the long wait, but it's worth it.

Hands down the BEST Cuban Bakery. Born and raised in Miami, FL this is the closest you'll get to having an authentic Cuban Bakery in Los Angeles. This place is always packed and for good reason! Their menu, food, and prices are extremely reasonable and incredible. Yes, there are long lines, but you will get top speedy service. This is the real deal and I highly recommend this place to anyone, even my CUBAN friends and family!

The only real consistent criticism of this place could be the long lines. Do not let that deter you. No matter how long the lines, the service is prompt and worth whatever short wait - the lines move fast. The only legitimate criticism is that the restaurant is loud and no real comfortable seating. The later is true and unfortunate but the food does not disappoint.

One of my favorite places. Porto's is one of my favorite places on the weekend when you just want to relax and people watch. The place is a bit overwhelming at times...lots of people, long lines to order food, but it's very organized. Especially like the carrotcake, breakfast croissant sandwich, cheese desserts and feta cheese sandwich. Actually, everything is good there! Take your friends because it's a great place to just take in the atmosphere and enjoy yourselves. You wait in a line to order food then get a table and have a waiter bring the meal to you. If you're looking to get full service without a line this place isn't for you. They have plenty of seating but even on the weekend it can be crowded and tough to find a table. The second line is for bakery items only but the staff won't yell at you if you order hot food from the bakery line..just know what you want to order!

OMG please come to Vegas!. I found this place driving past it on our way to the hotel. It also came up when I used Urbanspoon on my cell phone. OMG... fabulous food! We were watching what others were buying, especially the desserts. Everything we got was delicious. We went there two days in a row. The Laredo omelet on a croissant, oh! Meat pies, plantain chips, steak torta sandwich.... yummmm!

Good food - great value!. There was a huge line waiting to place an order, almost enough to discourage you from staying. The line moves quickly and is actually an advantage because it gives you time to view all the delicious looking goodies in the case and decide on what you want.

The food was ordered and was brought to our table after a very short wait. Very tasty and very reasonably priced! Most places would charge double what we paid for our desert pastries and as good as these were it would be worth it. I couldn't believe how inexpensive they were.

It's a good thing that I live so far away, this place could add many pounds to my weight...

Pastries, pastries, pastries!. I've had lunch there a couple of times and its average at best. The coffee is okay. But their pastries and desserts are UNBELIEVABLE! I haven't counted, but I think they have over 100 different desserts to choose from. They close pretty early on Sunday.

Love it.... My girlfriend and I love Porto's. The bakery has an endless variety and it's breakfast and lunch menu is humble and delicious. Also if you have never experienced and POTATO BALL before the you haven't lived, they are amazing, get one and your life is forever changed, we'll maybe not that extreme, but you get the picture, the damn things are good. Also I love their coffee, get the DULCE DE LECHE LATTE it is my favorite. Porto's has great service a friendly atomosphere, and food that will have you coming back for the rest of your days here in Burbank.

Dig in. Finding a parking spot here can be tricky, but that just makes the food taste even better. From the fresh bread to the potato balls, from the insanely-cheap medianoche sandwich to the crazy assortment of desserts, it's all good. Come early enough in the day and get a caprese sandwich to go before they run out. The guava-cheese strudel also shouldn't be missed.

Porto’s Porto’s Porto’s.  Burbank is lucky to have a Porto’s.  Any city to have a Porto’s is lucky — Glendale and Downy included.  The thing about Porto’s is that there is always a line, a long long line.  You will never find yourself inside a Porto’s and be the only one ordering something.   I never at Porto’s right when it opens, but I would guess there is a line for the door.  This is what makes Porto’s so special.  Their bakery department pumps out amazing pastries and breads along with elaborate cakes and sandwiches.  For me, I get the usual. I must, you must, we all must get a dozen cheese rolls.   I don’t care if I ate dinner, or I am about to go eat afterwards, I am getting my dozen. Two dozen?  I can always eat them the next day, or share it with my family.  The cheese rolls are a must.  Especially warm, they are nice and custardy inside with a sugary, flakey exterior.  This savory yet sweet pastry shouldn’t be dismissed. If you remember back from my Porto’s Bakery Glendale bl

We got to check out Porto's Bakery & Cafe , a staple of Los Angeles dining founded by the Cuban Porto family. Despite the dreariness of the weather outside, the cafeteria-style bakery was absolutely slammed with people, and V mentioned that it is pretty much always like that. As we waited in the chaos that was the "line," Mark's eyes were glued to the sweets on display. No wonder - Porto's originally took off on the strength of matriarch Rosa Porto's baking skills. We were suddenly shoved unceremoniously to the front of the line, and, caught off guard, our ordering became a little frentic. In fact, I'm pretty sure our order got a bit
