Love the Tamales and baked goods! Highly recommend this place.
The best mexican bread and tamales in Idaho. Excellent and friendly customer service. My family love this place.
Absolutely love La Esperanza Bakery. The employees are so friendly. The bread is made daily and so fresh. Their tamales are the absolute best!
The best tamales ever and I can get them any day of the week! Love this bakery!
By far, the best tamales I have found in Idaho and I've lived here over 20 yrs. I can only eat one, they are huge and so good! Walking in, you feel very welcome. Affordable, authentic and delish!
Tamales are great. Cheese and jalapeño are spicy but good. Little piece of Mexico, right in the Walmart parking lot
Me encanta el pan de allí y los tamales son muy amables y siempre te atienden con una sonrisa

La Esperanza Bakery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re looking for great tamales, my favorites are at La Esperanza Bakery in Caldwell. I’ve eaten a lot of tamales over the years and I’ve had some excellent ones. These are by far I have ever had. They are also far superior to the James Beard award winning Tamales I had at Los Hernandez Tamales in Union Gap, Washington.
The tamales are kept back in the kitchen, so you have to ask for them. They come out steaming hot. Jalapeño & Cheese and Red Chile Pork tamales are available daily, until they run out. On Sundays, they make a small number of Green Chile Chicken tamales. I have never been there in time to try those, but I hear they’re good.
The Red Chile Pork tamales have big chunks of well-seasoned pork. Those are my favorites. I also really like the Jalapeño & Cheese. When you heat them up, they have oozing cheese in the middle and a nice amount of heat, but not they are not overly spicy. When I visited the store yesterday, I bought 12 tamales, 6 of each flavor. TJ bought the remaining 7 tamales.
These tamales are huge! To give you a sense of scale, these tamales are in a dinner bowl that is almost 10 inches wide. One tamale with rice and beans or a salad will make a meal for most. They freeze well. They cost $2.50 each or $15 for six.
We were there around 5:30 PM last night. As always, they were doing a swift Although some of the shelves were empty, they were constantly bringing out new trays of freshly baked goods.
In addition to having the best tamales, La Esperanza Bakery is the best Mexican bakery in the Treasure Valley, and quite possibly the state.

Highly Recommended!!!
The best tamales in the Treasure Valley! Pan dulce is also amazing. Friendly staff and quick service. Highly recommend!!
Delicious baked pastries and sweet breads, huge variety with something new or different each time I go in. Tamales are also super yummy and they have dozens of cold bottled drinks to choose from also coffee and custom made cakes. Highly recommended!
😋 Tamales - Had my first tamale from Esperanza Bakery a few weeks ago when my sister bought some. I actually tried two, pork and chile/cheese. They were delicious. Finally went there to get more. So good. Highly recommended. Each tamale weighs about 8oz with the husk. Not sure what other kinds they have but looking forward to trying them.
Kind of a small business shopping area but carries a large share in the sale of tasty Mexica pastries. Along with that they produce some mighty good home made Tomales. Give this place a try if you are into Mexican foods. Excellent placeto shop.
Lovely little bakery. We visit here quite frequently, it’s surprisingly cheap for how great tasting the pastries are, and the staff is very friendly as well.
Love this place. There are so many things to try and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I especially love when their daughter (?) is working. I'm dropping in tomorrow for their tamales and a few other goodies. Lisa B must not be very familiar with South American pastry.
There was a line when we arrived. By the time we filled out tray with goodies we were ready to check out. I over heard someone order tamales so I asked if they had any. We went home with 4 jalepeno cheese tamales. They were delicious! We will be back!
