Very tasty! We got the fish & chips and the fish, chicken, & chips.
Lovely little place, it was packed when we arrived and remained so throughout our entire lunch. One table would empty and folks would immediately fill it. Several takeout orders went out as well during the 30-45 minutes we were there.
Both lunches came with coleslaw and the standard trio of toppings was on every table; ketchup, malt vinegar, and tartar sauce.
We also got two pasties to take home. I'll report back in once we try those.
Verdict - Good Food and Lovely Staff!
Amazing fish and chips! Small hole in the wall type of place with cute decorations and friendly sercice. Food is top notch, exactly what you'd get in England!
Excellent Fish and Chips. Pete's serves some of the best fried fish I ever ate! Moist, tasty Icelandic Cod with a delicious golden batter. The large portion consists of one huge filet, about 9-10 inches long. On our first time, the bride and I split one large filet and once we tasted how good it was, we immediately ordered another. The chips and slaw were also very good. $11 for the large meal. The non-alcohol drink selection is somewhat limited, but we got by. There are only a couple dozen seats or so in this strip mall location, so get there early! They also have fried shrimp and chicken, but we have not tried it yet.
I have some friends back in Georgia from south Africa. He turned me on to TRUE fish and chip and i had been missing that wonderful meal down here. Pete's fish & chip are exactly what i was looking for. If you know what TRUE fish & chips are you will LOVE this place.
Best fish and chips I've ever had - But way overpriced. This is the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. It's way too expensive, so I can only afford to go on special occasions. You have to get a large piece of the fish if you want to get filled. It taste very fresh and is cooked to perfection. It's the "filet mignon" of fish.
My only other complaint besides the price is they serve you the fish on top of the fries in a very small basket. So it's hard to eat your food.
Put it on a plate and lower your prices please. But I can also understand the high prices given the quality of the food.
Delicous. Petes fish and chips is the best fish and chips ive had in southwest florida and ive lived here 24 years . This was just as good as new england fish and chips if not better . Thank you urbanspoon !
We ate here for lunch today. A little pricey, but excellent. The fish and chips were very good...not too much breading on the fish...with a good cod fish. I will go again.
Great Fish n Chips. This is authentic... yes, the close early but this is a family run business and they do not want to hand it off to some un-professionals... If you tip, they donate the tip... Get there before 7PM... they close at 7:30... worth the trade-off... if you read the reviews, they are negative because the came late... give it a try... help the wounded warriors by leaving at tip...
Purfict fish and chips. I opted for the larger serving and I was not disappointed. Can't wait for my next visit.

I Love Pete's Fish & Chips!. I LOVE Pete's Fish & Chips! My family and I are 'regulars'. We always get the 'Family Bucket' because there's something for everyone. The staff is always friendly; always smiling. As my daughter is always telling me, every time we drive by the restaurant, 'Pete's Fish & Chips Rocks!!'

The food. the food is always good. Tender inside fried to perfection outside. A rant is they should give the bigger & better steak fries and make it a stand out.
Rave is customer service is always top notched.

Petes Fish and Chips, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
The food. Fish & Chips.... always excellent fried to a golden brown. Moist on the inside... Cole slaw ,chopped fine and so tasty. A in house delish.
I venture out and tried the frozen pies. I heated in a toaster oven as directed.
WOW.... the crust was so flaky and wonderful. The ingredients was savory and so good. It was a meal unto itself.
Service was stellar as usual.
A real chippy place. Well I am impress and happy about a chippy place in Cape Coral. It is runned by a real Brit. The fish is lightly batter and fried to a golden color. It was moist and flaky on the inside. They make their own cole slaw , in house, Delicious . They have the necessary condiment of malt vinegar & of course tartar sauce.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can dine in or take out. I recommend dine in for the fish.
Fried fish does not travel well it taste good but will become soggy.
So when I get a hankering for my fish & chips this will be my go to place.
Authentic, fresh & delicious. Clean restaurant, friendly and fast service.
U.K style fish and chips, I had a number 1 combo which was fish and 2 shrimp, with slaw and fries.
Prices are okay, food and pretty good. Slaw was a bit bland compared to others, and fries were fries not traditional chips you would expect with English Fish & Chips. Order was taken and delivered to counter quickly.
Great Philly Steak sandwich. The fish and chips smelled amazing! This is the real deal! The prices were very reasonable.
The food wasn't bad by any means. A better than most Philly, good fish and chips. The chicken has a good batter but our chicken was a bit tough. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a hole in the wall (not a bad thing by any means!) Though I wish it was a little cleaner. These hole in the walls usually have a cult following because of their service and food. This place has good British style food but could use a bit more on the service. A smile and casual pleasantries go a long way! Overall, I would recommend if you want a good Philly or fish and chips, but not somewhere I would expect to have a cult following.
If you haven't tried their Philly Cheesesteaks you're missing out! Best in the Cape. Bethany is awesome behind the counter. We have been telling everyone about how good their food is! 3 times in the week of trying their food. On our way there now. Yummy yummy! 😋 Bring on the Works!
I picked up a to-go order with the variety meal (includes shrimp, chicken, and fish) and was very pleased with the food. However the fish seems to be their specialty and is very tasty, and the best of the three choices. The fries are hand cut fries and done just right. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with English memorabilia and the menu has a variety of traditional English foods. I have eaten here in the past and the quality has remained consistent. I recommend the fish and chips.
It is like a fish and chip deli. Nice and clean, food was fantastic! We tried the fish and chips and also had a fish & shrimp combo which were both excellent. The best fried shrimp I have had and the cocktail sauce was superb! The owner asked us to sample his Philly cheesesteak which was so delicious we would come back just to have it again! Great place!!
Stopped by for their famous Philly cheesesteak and it was perfect. Bought the 12 inch as to have leftovers. Half the sandwich was plenty for lunch.
It was hot, fresh and great flavor.
The staff is friendly and the service is great. They have a few tables inside so we opted to stay and eat in.
We will be back again!
Come for the authentic fish & chips, but bring a cooler for the frozen individual sized meat & veggie pies (and others). We had take out because seating is limited. But I felt comfortable there. Really unique in Cape Coral.
not only was this the best Philly Cheesesteak I've had in Florida, but I was really excited to see the enthusiasm of the workers making this food. Added bonus for showing me their pepper collection and giving me some insight on where to get them. I highly recommend Pete's!!!
The fish and chips were pretty good. Not chips weren't too salty, just wish the fish was bit more crispy. It batter got soggy very quickly. The staff here is very nice.
The fish was cooked perfectly and very tasty! The fries were also delicious and came out very hot. My wife is British and is a good judge of a proper fish n chips restaurant - and she would recommend them!
I have always really enjoyed Pete’s fish and recently had heard that they have fantastic Philly cheesesteaks. I have to say that fantastic is an understatement. The foot-long with the works is by far the best Philly cheesesteak I’ve ever had. It’s a real blessing to have another fantastic mom and pop establishment to frequent here in Cape Coral.
I will most certainly be going back.
Not fine dining and they were out of wine (yikes), but the owner is wonderful and the food is really good! Try the authentic Philly cheesesteak!
What a great place to eat. I ordered the fish and chips and was not disappointed. Very quick and friendly service. I highly recommend it.
This place has been on my radar for FOREVER. Not sure what took me so long to try it but, I'm glad I finally did! Amazing food with friendly folk behind the counter. Don't be like me, get out there & try them ASAP!!
