Waitress Elizabeth was incredibly friendly and gave Great service. Food was hot and well prepared. You won’t leave hungry and they keep bringing you surprises…things to try. Amazingly gracious and giving. Definitely a selfless owner as he kept bringing us food to try. They are very flexible with their menu and your needs. It reminds me of a no frills but cool place in Maine we used to go to. It’s not fancy but the atmosphere is super fun.
Went to Moorings tonight for dinner. This is not your regular dinner experience, this is Al and Moorings, you won't find that anywhere else around but here in the Cape. The food is great and the athmosphere is awesome. Al tells you to go behind the bar and get your drink. He's a very nice and friendly guy who runs this great place for decades already. It's always a great experience to dine at Moorings. We will be back soon...!
This is a place with (quirky) character. In fact, I'd be hard-pressed to think of a place with more character. For some people, that's going to be a turn off; for others, this place will feel like home.
The service was good, although it tends to come with some surprises. The food (heavy focus on seafood, though one member of our party had a grilled chicken breast that looked delicious) was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed everything on my plate (and really liked a few of the things that were not, too). Don't come here looking for a fancy restaurant, but do check it out to experience the backyard-charm and the very good food!
Delicious food great service and you make a friend!! Elizabeth our server and Al the owner were gracious, friendly and hospitable. Where else can you go behind the bar and make your own drink!! Get your beer! Fun place to go. Beautiful outside patio!! And a delicious after dinner aperitif!!
Had a perfectly lovely dinner! Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The patio area was charming, although still struggling from Hurricane Ian's imput (as we all are). Overall, loved the experience.
The food and the owner are awesome! You will NEVER leave hungry!!
A must go when in Cape Coral!!
Just a fun experience with Elizabeth and the owner Al, a little quirky place with old fashioned style, we got to make our own drinks, we only stopped by for a drink and they kept bringing complimentary yummy food out. We had dinner plans so we didn't order anything but it's all outstanding what we did try! Very deceiving on the outside but I would say it's a hidden jewel and we will be back!
Such a funky cool place, nothing to look at from the outside, but, wow, the owner brought us all kinds fresh cooked fish to sample, you can pick and mix. We got to go behind the bar to make our own drinks. Definitely a funny, funky place.
Phenomenal experience. If you are looking for a local hit then this is it. I stumbled upon The New England Moorings by mistake when a neighboring seafood joint was too busy and I'm so glad I did.
Al, the owner, was full of originality and stories. He catered a very personal experience along with some extra food and beverage goodies to boot. This man is a hoot and made my visit one for the memory bank.
The seared scallops, shrimp, calamari, crab cakes, and ahi tuna were hands down incredible.
This will be a regular trip for me when in the area.
*Don't forget about your Irish Cannoli before you leave!*
AL made this experience one to remember! Great food, excellent service! He made us feel like family. I read in a previous comment about trump flags SO THE HELL WHAT! That did not make the food any less tasty or his interaction with us less entertaining and welcoming. I definitely recommend the #6🥰 the appetizers are delicious. His IRISH CANOLI will have you in love. I can say anytime I am here in Cape Coral I will be making a stop for sure 😍🥰❤️💕 Thank you AL for a great evening of laughter, history, and fun.
