The experience is romantic, & a throw back to a way earlier time! Dinner in the dining room is a must if weather is beastly hot or rainy, but by far the best is dining on the veranda!

Southern fried chicken is the specialty for the Chalfonte. My wife and I thought the chicken was ok. We enjoyed the drinks and dining on the patio was devine. We enjoyed watching the horse and carriage tours circle the house as we dined.

I am no history buff but I was taking in every bit of what this locale has to offer. The staff is amazing and the service is perfect. The food is exquisite - just right. Balanced seasoning. Scallops were done perfectly. The green beans were tender and crisp.. the mash was just perfect. The banana pudding is to die for. Enjoy.

My husband, children and I went to the Magnolia Room for dinner. It had been recommended to us as a classic dining experience while in Cape May. We were able to get a reservation without any issue. Dillon, our server, was wonderful - professional, personable, and informative about the restaurant and hotel. He made great recommendations and was very accommodating and friendly to our children. It happened to be my birthday and he surprised me with a candle on my dessert, which was very thoughtful (especially because it came without a big song and dance). Every staff member we encountered was wonderful. The experience was perfect - special but comfortable. Even our table neighbors were lovely! The food was very good - particularly the snow pie! I would highly recommend the restaurant for anyone looking for a special meal while visiting Cape May.

Staff was very attentive and food was great. The live music was great and not too loud.

We had a nice evening at the Chalfont on the porch I would give the service a 10 from the hostess to the waiter. The band made the ambiance of the night and the bartender was amazing. The food was ok not great but not bad either it just lacks in flavor needs more sauces to add flavors to the entrees. Ribs were good again just needed a sauce. Again I hope the chef takes these comments because with the ambience and the service it can be a very special place!

Excellent! I had the avacado salad--a special menu item and the beef rid app. The salad was bright and refreshing, perfect for summer. The ribs were deboned and just melted in my mouth, burting with flavor.

We had a great experience here. The restaurant is attached to the hotel (we were not staying there, but heard good things about the food). We had the fried chicken and it was crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and delicious!

The best fried chicken I've ever tasted. Attentive wait staff, and a string quartet. Who could ask for anything more?

Incredible food! Only complaint is that the food takes a while to be ready but otherwise is perfect!
