Love the atmosphere of Grotto which is in the lower level of Newell House. They even have a private event room located in Grotto. Food is good, Music and all around feel is great... Planning to have an event in the near future...
Our favorite restaurant in Carbondale. Very classy. Every time we come here the food is delicious and the service is friendly and fast. One of the only nicer places to eat in Carbondale. Serve a variety of beer, wine, and cocktails.
The restaurant has amazing food with a really cozy atmosphere. They also have downstairs the Grotto with a full bar, music and cozy atmosphere. Would recommend.
Wonderful environment, service and food. It is pricier but well worth it if you’re looking for a nice quiet dinner out. The service is great, and the food is delicious!
Without a reservation we were seated immediately, service was great, food was wonderful. This was our first visit, and I will be back.
Went for my sister's graduation and the food was excellent as was the wait staff. Everyone got either prime rib (so good) or the filet. Not a huge by the glass wine selection but it was all good.
Would certainly return if the opportunity presented itself.
This was a wonderful visit! The food was outstanding, the ambiance inviting, and our server Jim was friendly and very helpful. Parking was relatively easy, but it was a Tuesday night - YMMV on the weekend. My only concern was the booth in which we sat - the table was very close to the bench on which I sat, and the table was not movable. We will be back to try some of the other temptations on the menu, but I can recommend the crab cakes already.
Fantastic upscale atmosphere, delicious food and kind staff culminate into an excellent, romantic place to catch a dinner. With a wide array of Italian inspired steakhouse cuisine. All in all exactly what what one can expect from a establishment encouraging fine dining. The price isn't cheap but the food is what you pay for. Delicious, upscale, and worth every penny.
