This is a great stop for everyone. I’ve taken 3 groups of friends here and everyone has loved this place. The owner and her husband are very friendly. The bartenders are great and very friendly. The food is always so good. Be sure to order a duck pond drink while your there.
Great food and fun atmosphere! Their specials are creative and delicious, including Chicken & Waffles!
Kate and her staff go above and beyond. Staff is always welcoming when ya walk in. If there's ever any issue please let her staff know and they'll be happy to help solve any issue! Kate is often seen walking around interacting with customers. Food is amazing and she's always willing to change up menu and try to things so ya don't get stuck with same things over and over!
Stopped in for a beer and some lunch. We had the sweet corn nuggets and a meatball sub. Both were excellent. Kate was our waitress. Great personality and a tremendous asset.
This place is great!! The owners are amazing and unbelievably friendly. They came up to us and talked to us like they knew who we were. They were extremely accommodating and the food was top notch too! I had the grouper and the breading was light and the fish was very tasty. My daughter had the pretzel bites and they were great too! If you’re in Carlinville or traveling through, I’d highly recommend you stop here!
The absolute best food!! You can't go wrong with a horseshoe of any kind and make it with waffle fries for even a tastier meal. The chilli my husband says is the best he has ever ate.

We moved to Carlinville a few months ago and The Wood Duck is already our favorite. They have guest service and excellent food. I especially love some of their seasonal specials like the Thanksgiving sandwich and fish tacos.
