The food was fantastic! I got the hiker's eggs Benedict ( poached eggs on top of a toasted egg muffin with hollandise sauce and asparagus, ham, mushrooms, tomatoes, & bacon) with a side of grits (of potatoes if you wanted). Grits could've been better, as they were made with milk, which I didn't like. But service was great!
We had been to an Egg & I in Florida, so when we saw one here we decided to give it a shot in spite of the negative reviews. We really enjoyed it. Seated immediately, food and coffee tasty, hot, and quick. We recommend it!
We found Egg & I to be a great local addition. Having eaten at the original in Estes Park, Colorado this is a taste of vacation in central Indiana. The food is wonderful and service prompt and friendly. You should give The Egg & I a try!

Excellent food and service! We eat their at least twice a week. Large selection of breakfast items. Try the Raspberry Granola Pancake or Eggs Benedict; they are fantastic!
I've come several times and have never been disappointed. The food is great and I never have waited too long for service. They have a very unique and diverse menu to choose from. People who give this place a bad review need to get the stick out of their a**. What more could you ask from a breakfast place? It is already hard to find a good one anywhere these days.
A family friend recommended it to us. We were seated right away and there were several people there. There were 6 of us and the waitress was accommodating. We came in at two different times, she offered us coffee and came back when everyone was where to order. The food came in good timing, nice and warm. The Mexican omelette and skillet were tasty, but I would recommend the salsa on the side. The pumpkin waffle was the best. We actually had it has a desert with our hot coffee.

First experience was wonderful! I loved the healthier food options, like whole wheat pancakes or more veggie options than just peppers (like asparagus!). The pricing was good and included eggs and meat instead of offered as an up charge. Lastly, service was great and they have a wonderful outdoor patio area overlooking nice brush and trees instead of a parking lot. Found my new favorite spot!
First time here for me. My daughter and I had brunch around 9:15 am and the food was fabulous. Very warm and tasty and very filling. The bacon was cooked just right. Ditto for the eggs. The service was very prompt. The waitress refilled our drinks several times. I left a big tip.
We were very pleased and will return.
Kathleen was the waitress we had and she was absolutely amazing. We went in late Sunday morning and there was a wait. You could tell everyone was a little overwhelmed from the hostess, to the young gentleman cashing everyone out, to taking to go orders, to picking up those orders, to getting people coffee while they wait. The food was amazing, and everyone was so friendly (even though it was hectic). I would highly recommend this place. And Kathleen thank you so much, you were absolutely great! I appreciate my two large coffees to go. :)
I'm going to post an edit to this review and amp up the score by one star since the server was so good. Service won the day here.. Top notch! My initial review of 3 stars was mostly due to the flavor of the sausage, which wasn't to my liking. Clean restaurant, friendly, and great for kids!
Never disappoints! From the ever delicious food, rich steaming coffee, and excellent service The Egg and I is always consistent in a very good way. The apple pancake and Eggs Benedict are favorites. Wonderful food and service all priced very fairly keeps us coming back.

Decided to try out Egg and I despite several negative reviews. My wife and I now have a new Saturday favorite and purchased gift cards to come back with others. I normally don't write reviews, but found the negative reviews all so wrong, that had to provide this 5-star. We loved the extensive menu, and look forward to trying many other egg entrees. This place puts LePeep's to shame, and we like LePeep's too. I enjoyed the seasonal Holiday Hash with poached eggs over potatoes and greens. Didn't know it didn't come with toast, but our attentive waitress threw it in no charge. My wife ordered buckwheat blueberry pancakes with eggs scrambled and loved her meal too. Hazelnut coffee was also very good. Both our meals under $10. Wow! Our waitress, Christine, recommended coming back at a less busy time to receive better service, but not sure service could be any more outstanding, despite a Sunday morning at 11:00. I also looked around, and found many other smiling, happy patrons in a full restaurant with 15-20 minute wait. Glad those with negative reviews aren't coming back, so my my wife and I can continue to enjoy this new favorite with shorter wait.
Good service and the food was the best. The corned beef was homemade and better than anything I've ever had and I've tried many. Wife had waffles and eggs with sausage. Make sure your hungry. The portions are large. I had to help the wife finish off her last sausage pattie. It was seasoned to perfection.
