Slightly prolonged in my wait, but likely to benefit from biscuits served hot and fresh, it was with an elderly local that I struck up some chat and told that I’d made ‘the best choice’ in ordering the pimento cheese and bacon biscuit his words soon rang true moments after the man behind the counter called out my name – the fluffy golden crumb tinged with buttermilk proving quite nice with simple strawberry jam but finding a substantial upgrade when sandwiching spicy cheddar spread and crisp bacon that didn’t seem particularly ‘Jewish Deli,’ but was delicious just the same.
1st time visit, had breakfast there a few days ago, a basic biscuit -- egg + cheese. It was AWESOME. The staff was very nice also. The lunch sandwiches looked good. Will definitely return.
Great NY Style Deli Sandwiches, And More. What a great place, definitely one of the best, if not the best, deli in the area - definitely one of the most creative. This is a tiny place, only 4 or 5 tables, some very limited space outside. This area is almost always busy, so parking, on the street or city lots, can be a bit of an issue. Unless we are early, we usually grab it to go, and eat in the car, cause it can get crowded.
The breakfast biscuits are huge, and delicious - you can even get biscuits with pastrami as a component, if you'd like. I prefer the more traditional breakfast meats, also excellent.
The house made pastrami is excellent, very tender, with loads of flavor. The Pastrami on jewish rye is an absolute killer sandwich, as is the Manhattan, which adds Swiss Cheese, Slaw, and Russian Dressing to the pastrami on rye. The Reuben is a classic sandwich, as is the corned beef sandwich itself. These are New York style sandwiches, not nearly as large, but also about half the price of the same at Katz's or 2nd Avenue.
They have cold sandwiches, salads, and soups, but the deli sandwiches are the way to go. Nice folks here, and have a solid family backgroud in the culinary arts - Neal's father, Bill Neal, ran La Residence, and later opened Crook's Corner - not a bad pedigree.
I LOVE Neal's! I get something different every time I go and have been wowed each time. If you're awake early enough for a biscuit their breakfast menu is excellent. Oh Neal's, I love you
Reuben- Yum!. Went for lunch on valentine's day- loved the reuben. I order them at most places we go and compare. This one was definitely top o' the list. Got the corned beef- no need to skimp w/ the turkey version if you already have swiss cheese and dressing. Beef is corned in house. Husband really enjoyed the pastrami sandwhich too.
Amazing. So good it made me wanna smack my momma! Reccomend the manhattan.
Breakfast sandwich!. The biscuits are the best you will ever have. Get there in the morning before 10 am.
Yum. This is the place to get a hot sandwich! The manhatten turkey is sooo good and a little healthier than going with red meat
MANHATTAN!. Their manhattan is remarkable!!! love their pastrami and coleslaw!!!
Fresh and delicious! The sliced tomatoes on top of my BLT were amazing!! Best sandwiches I've had in years...thank you for the cheerful service and the love you put into making me a sammich! So so satisfying!!
As a local resident, I love Neil's Deli and have been going there for years. I enjoy the fresh gazpacho with farmers market tomatoes and chicken noodle soup. This is the perfect spot to spend a summer afternoon!
A great find by Taste of the Carolina's restaurant tour I participated in. Homemade and very delicious pastrami, specially seasoned roasted sweet potatoes are two of many outstanding specialities.
A bit hard to see from the street. Directly across from Wendy's.
Made my way to Neal's Deli to savor the flavor of its corned beef, roasted sweet potatoes, and roasted turnips. May not be the traditional St. Patrick's Day fare, but it was simply perfect for me. My daughter said her Cliff's country ham biscuit was awesome!
I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Neal's today. My husband I went for the first time about 30 minutes from closing time. Gabrielle, our server, could not
have been more gracious or kind as we pondered over the menu with a few questions. My Reuben sandwich was perfect! I thoroughly enjoyed sitting under the tree, eating lunch and enjoying this beautiful day! Thanks for a great meal and great service.
One of the best reubens I've ever had!! It's so delicious, and the kraut and slaw are outstanding. The pastrami is next-level, and everything together is a symphony. I also love how they use Guglhupf bread and support other local businesses <3 The cute sign and the location right next to the best coffee shop around are definite plusses too. I highly recommend you get your next lunch here =)
