This is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to in the United States, and I say that as a NYC resident originally from Beijing who has visited all of the major (and plenty of minor) Chinatowns, so it really is high praise. The reason I say it’s authentic is because it’s clear that the owners and staff are all from Beijing / northern China, as you can hear that they have the Beijing accent when speaking Chinese. We ordered dumplings, bao, meat pancake, and hot pot and all were delicious, well-portioned, and seasoned. The entire time we were eating there was a table of ladies making fresh dumplings in the back. Given it’s hidden location, nondescript decor, and no-nonsense service, this place has to rely on the food to make a name for itself, and I believe it definitely lives up to its name.
Price-wise, it’s not super cheap at about $12 per entree but the taste and reasonable portions make up for it.
I tried for the 1st time real hand-crafted hot dumplings (Dim Sum), hot pot dishes, and traditional Chinese food. This is a must stop and try everything kind of place. I ate so many different soup dumplings. So many that the ladies in the back taught me how they roll out dumplings. Great Job!
This is a legit hole in the side wall.
We ordered hot & sour soup, Shanghai soup dumplings, garlic eggplant, pork pan fried dumplings, hot soy milk, and fried crullers.
I’ve found my spot for hot & sour soup 🍲! My partner enjoyed their soup dumplings. Their garlic eggplant was really good, just a bit sweeter than expect but still very good!
It’s a relatively small place so be patient, great food takes time.
A friend recommended this place, and my wife and I really dug it! We ordered the soup dumplings (which are an explosion of flavor), the beef noodle soup, and the stir fried beef with black bean sauce. It was all delicious and I'm eager to go back and try the pork buns.
Another great Chinese restaurant on Buford Hwy for foodies. A small quaint place. Good service and a good menu selection. A good option of dumplings. Our family made several visit here and haven't been disappointed. As noted it is a small place and there will be times when the restaurant will be full.
For those frequent urges to binge on dumplings, this place welcomes you. They have an assortment of different types of dumplings, from soup to fried to steamed. I found the soup dumpling wrapper to be a little thick and not as transparent as some of the northeast xio long bao places I'm used to. The fried dumplings are my favorite, especially the pork shrimp and chive.
The Soup Dumplings are AMAZING!!!!! They make their own dough and hand make every dumpling, and potsticker. They are so flavorful and have the right amount of soup in the dumpling and have the right dough consistency so that it doesn't rip when you pick it up. They also have lots of Chinese dishes, soups and they make hand pulled noodles. Highly recommended!
Heard about this place via Instagram's @atlscoop. It's Saturday night, so I expected it to be busy, and it was. I noticed two doors. One was for take-out orders, and the other is used for dine in customers. There was a wait for a table, and the waitress took my phone number, jotted it down, and told me that she'd call my phone when my table was ready. I wasn't really happy that they requested my phone number, because why should I use my phone to help their business run smoother? I also didn't like that my phone number was put on a list on a piece of unattended paper on the counter with like at least 20 other numbers. They need to come up with something better than that.
Luckily, after getting seated, the sweet and hard working waitress got our food out in pretty good time and I can tell you that all 3 dishes I ordered were absolutely full of amazing flavor! Everything just blew me away. So, I forgot about random phone number list. lol I ordered pork pan fried dumplings, chicken stir fry with garlic sauce, and szechuan spicy fried fish. There was also a side of steamed rice. Plenty of food for 3 people for sure. Hands down, I will be going back to that restaurant soon. Expect a casual dining atmosphere and its not the biggest restaurant..you may have to wait outside for a table. All in all..great food and hard working and efficient employees. Loved it! By the way, you can order pick up or delivery through Google maps.
