Had dinner here for Father's day, per my husbands request. The chicken was seasoned nicely but the breast was a little over cooked. The collards were "sweet". I didn't care for them.
The service was good, the staff was friendly and my husband was happy though. Not a bad experience
Moist and delicious fried chicken: I didn’t realize Gus’s was part of a chain, but felt like a one-of-a-kind place. Everyone was super friendly. I think our server was named Jack. We dined inside, but a lot of folks getting chicken to-go. Gus’s chicken is super tasty, casual, friendly, cute place tucked away a block from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. If you’re ever in the Chamblee area of Atlanta and you’re hungry for some delicious fried chicken, I recommend that you try it. I tried their Mac N’Cheese and Fried Okra with some ranch dressing on the side. The chicken is moist on the inside and has a nice and crunchy seasoning on the outside. My husband loves fried chicken and gives it a thumbs up also. Happened to be the area, so we found this place. Tea is good. Mixed mine with the unsweetened. Enjoy!
Was looking for a place to take out some food in the heart of Chamblee and found this gem. Rey was helpful on the phone but next time I’ll ask if there are any specials. Also, if I’m going to sit in dine, I want all staff wearing a mask — unmasked wait person becomes the transmission tool. Fortunately, I was taking with me. I won’t let this stop me from taking away their title…
Yes, I believe this is world famous fried chicken. The chicken was moist and tasty. Spicy yes but nothing I can’t handle. The slaw and beans were great too. However, I’m gonna have to try the greens and Mac & cheese next time.
The ONLY reasons I gave a 5-star is because the food is always IMPECCABLE & because of the determination & integrity of the employees. Whoever is in charge of this location, you’re going to BLOW it, and NOT because of your crew. People can only take so much of a work-load before it starts becoming visible to the consumer that they’re struggling. When my man & I walked in, (3rd time being to the location; I’ve also been to approx. 7 locations in different states) we were immediately greeted (which I personally love, because it at least lets me know someone has acknowledged I’m there) we sat down & proceeded to wait about 10-15 mins to get our drinks & orders taken. The long wait wasn’t because of poor multitasking, it wasn’t because (my waitress) Heather didn’t know how to do her job, it was because the ENTIRE CREW(kitchen included) was getting STUCK in position because of lack of help & lack of organization.. I’ve been to some of the busiest Gus’ Chicken Restaurants in the nation (no one has better fried chicken the breading is phenomenal 😩😍) and this is honestly the most chaotic I’ve been to.. there’s no order. GET these people some HELP! They should not have to UNGLUE themselves from a position in order to leave at the end of their shift, family having to wait outside for an hour to get their people when it’s not their responsibility to even stay over. I truly ADMIRE their determination to make it work; whoever has this location, you need to APPRECIATE your employees and pray that a bigger company owner doesn’t come in & see the same determination & HARD-working ethic that I did, because anyone would be MORE than happy to have these individuals representing their company and brand.
Great experience! The BEST fried chicken and catfish period! My family and I came here for dinner and were thoroughly impressed by the experience. We were seated promptly and the waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. Our waitress, Chi Chi, was exciting, personable, and top notch. It's clear she loves her job and they're lucky to have her.
We ordered chicken dinners and a catfish dinner and we all cleaned our plates. My wife said the catfish was the best she's ever had! We felt the same way about our fried chicken dinners. Chicken was well seasoned with the right amount of spice and had a light crispy batter...oh soo good! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the Atlanta area. A must try! Ask for Chi Chi when you visit.
First time to have lunch at the Chamblee, GA location. The service was really good. Tried the 3 piece, with Greens, Okra, Coleslaw and half cut tea. The chicken was tender, tasty and not greasy. A little spicy, but the way Southern Grandmother's make on Sunday. Looking forward to mynext lunch.
Chicken is crazy good. It’s different - more of a batter than a dry breading. Okra was fresh not frozen. Solid greens and slaw (sweet). I hope they work out their staffing issues because the chicken really is great.
Food was good! Hospitable atmosphere. Enjoyed every moment dining in restaurant. A must try location while on vacation.😋
