Nice upscale restaurant in Champaign to dine at. They have an extensive wine, draft beer and spirits list, perfect for any social occasion. The food and atmosphere were terrific. Servers were very attentive and patient with our group. Everything came out perfectly as ordered. Only complaint is that parking is somewhat difficult during peak hours but parking is available in the back of the building. There is a small storefront as you enter and very nice seating outside and inside depending on your desires.
I was excited to try this place and it did not disappoint! Such a great menu with a variety of options for everyone, including vegetarians. Excellent service and delicious drinks, too. Will definitely go back soon.
Sun Singer is a very lovely place. Wonderful menu. We had lunch and look forward to trying dinner next time. No pics of the food. We ate it before we could take photos. They also have a deli and a very nice wine and liquor store. The wine specialist is Laurent. He is very knowledgeable about wine and helped us choose some lovely bottles of wine to enjoy at home.
Ambiance of this place is really nice. The food was excellent. I ordered the Chicken Piccata and it didn't disappoint! They have a great desert selection also.
This is a popular spot. It is not a bad idea to reserve a table if you don't want to wait during popular meal times. I will eat here when a friend wants to, but I don't think of it myself. My feeling is that the food is good but priced higher than I like.
They always seem to have a lot of customers. Obviously a lot of people really like it and seem to be just fine with the price. They have an interesting Deli, wine, and kitchenware store inside. You can find things a little out of the ordinary. There is indoor and outdoor seating, if the weather is fine. You'll probably enjoy it. If you care about prices you can check them online before you visit.
Love everything about Sun Singer. Menus offers a great variety of options-from entrees, to sandwiches, to small plates, to soup and salads. Also great selections to take home from their deli. Love sitting outside during the warm months. Choice of environments when seated inside. Wait staff are friendly and available.
UPDATED REVIEW MAY 2023: Had breakfast here today - Mother’s Day. Despite it being a holiday and likely being busier than normal, the quality of the food or service was definitely not sacrificed one bit. Everything was just as amazing as our last visit.
Tried both the Veggie and Lobster Benedicts today. They were both incredible. Hashbrowns were also amazing.

INITIAL REVIEW JANUARY 2023: Came here for weekend brunch on a Sunday morning. Atmosphere was nice, service was prompt, and the food was cooked to order.
I got the traditional eggs Benedict with hash browns. The hollandaise sauce was tasty, and the eggs were cooked perfectly poached.
I will be back in the near future.
This is a fantastic restaurant that we adore, although it may be a bit on the expensive side. The food is excellent, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. In particular, the tuna dish is one of the best in the city and definitely worth trying. If you're a seafood lover, make sure to add this spot to your list.
We tried Sun Singer for the first time and was truly impressed. From the friendly wait staff to the wide selection of quality menu choices, this place is top-notch. Everything has a gourmet touch and comes out fresh with amazing presentation. This place tends to be on the higher end with pricing, (nothing super unreasonable) but definitely worth it for the flavor and experience.
Good food and nice atmosphere. The truffle Fries are delicious! Must try! The grilled cheese was also very good and so was the salmon. Prices were higher but it's to be expected from a nicer restaurant. Should definitely check this place out if you've never been.

I thought it was good ng to be a very upscale place. But it is just an everyday place with good food and wine. People were dressed casual and yeah. Great place. I thought our waiter was a tad slow for the price of the food. But, I also know that staffs are hurting right now so I am not sure what all he was doing so I did not think much of it. He was still a great waiter and very nice.
We had eight plates of oyster during the oyster week lol… That food is so great and satisfying. Staff were nice but I would be better if the food can be served a bit more quickly (I understand Friday night is busy still…). Lucky to have this place in town.
When visiting our son at UIUC, we decided to have Sunday brunch at Sun Singer based on a person who lives at Champaign recommendation. We’re lucky to have gone because the food was so good.
We had biscuits & gravy, challah french toast, 5 little pigs, steak & eggs, coffee, and Pepsi. I thought we would have leftovers but we finished everything; it was that good. The Pepsi was flat but quickly replaced with another drink when we mentioned to server.
We were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t have to wait very long for our food, considering the place was pretty packed. It was nice to browse around the store after we polished off our meal.

Best dinner I’ve had in town. Scallops and filet were cooked perfectly. The only negative thing I could say would be the ambiance. When paying $37 for scallops one does not want to be under super bright lights. I felt bad for the folks in the main dining room with spotlights casting down at their faces.
Still, looking forward to my next meal at Sun Singer!
Forget you are parked at a strip mall and enjoy the bottle-heavy ambience of this quality cafe. We enjoyed a flat bread with our drinks. The service was good by friendly wait staff.
Nice little place in Champaign. Inside is kind of like a cracker barrel for grown-ups with a full service liquor store and a restaurant. Went for lunch grilled cheese was awesome.
