Family run restaurant with very good food that has an authentic taste and delicate preparation. They make their own corn tortillas that are a treat. Been there twice thus far and their food has been spot on both times. They have well executed vegetarian options and my friends say their shrimp is cooked extremely well. If you are a college student looking for some good off campus Mexican food, check this place out. Staff is extremely nice and service is fast.

I'm sorry to say it but I'm 99% certain this place closed permanently. You could always call the number to see for sure. This is a family run place. Like most towns of this size there are A LOT of Mexican style restaurants to choose from. El Patio is not terrifically different than most but after three or four visits I have felt as though the food is better than many others in town. The hand made tortillas are worth asking for. Service is good and very friendly. Prices are very reasonable, similar to the others, but again I feel the food is higher quality enough that it's worth riding over there to eat. Indoor or outdoor seating options are available. The margaritas are better than many other places also!

Great authentic Mexican food. Chips and salsa are great and they have good margaritas. Portions are huge, always enough to take some home. Love this place, best Mexican food in the area.

The best most authentic Mexican restaurant in Champaign. Mama and everyone are truly wonderful people that put their love into the food. If you aren't sure what to order just ask for something they think you will like. I have never had a bad meal here. We eat at El Patio twice a week. They have good daily specials as well if you are looking to save money.

Went for lunch today with my daughter. We loved everything!! Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had cheese dip, shrimp fajitas, and the veggie fajita quesadilla. Everything had so much flavor and the salsa was really good too! If you like some heat, get the homemade hot sauce. The only negative was that it was so cold in the restaurant. It is by far our new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Champaign area.

EXCELLENT FOOD. EXCELLENT SERVICE there was a glitch when I ordered online and the order did not go through. But so accommodating- got my order ready in no time- was not their fault but apologized for the wait. Again not their fault but so super nice! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!! Big portions for the food at reasonable prices too. What else can I say GO THERE It's great!

I think I found my new favorite Mexican spot in C-U! The chips and salsa were delicious and the margarita was STRONG. They have the BEST shrimp fajita quesadilla that I have ever had. Their rice and beans are also surprisingly delicious. I don't remember ever loving the rice and beans at any other restaurant. I will definitely continue to come here!

The tacos are outstanding, especially the carnitas. The tortillas are home made. The chips are not good.

Lots of items made from family recipes. particularly like the flavor and portion sizes. Enjoy a yummy and surprisingly smooth 12 oz frozen lime margarita 4-6pm daily for just $1.99. The food and service are worth the trip!

Got our first order from El Patio tonight, picking up curbside. The service was speedy, even in the frigid cold. All the food was still piping hot when I got it home. And omg, the food was amazing. Best Mexican food I've gotten in Champaign-Urbana. So fresh and delicious. We will definitely be ordering again!

Heart-eyes for the homemade tortillas! El Patio is my go-to Mexican restaurant in C-U. Friendly staff and delicious food! Great location close to many subdivisions and near the Curtis Road exit on I57. They are always having drink specials and there is even a karyoke one night of the week. Generous portion sizes on the entrees- you definitely get what you pay for. Definitely would recommend to give it a try!

Awesome chips and salsa, I couldn't stop eating them. The food was good and service was good. We left extremely full and had leftovers too! We're going back, that's going to be a new favorite for us.

El Patio is my go-to restaurant when I'm in the mood for Mexican food. Food is always plentiful and well cooked. Drinks are generous and staff is friendly and attentive. Prices are similar to other Mexican restaurants in the area.
