I can’t consume gluten for medical reasons and eating out is challenging. So many places aren’t accommodating or have so much cross contamination that I end up sick. But last night my server, Lauren, was incredible. She answered all of my questions about the gluten free menu, spoke to the kitchen staff, and even double checked on items once they came out. She even knew which vodka I could have when I forgot to specify when I initially ordered. My drink and my dinner were delicious. I will absolutely be coming back!
The staff was excellent. We were greeted as soon as we walked into the restaurant and the host took our drink order immediately. Our food came about 7 minutes after we ordered and out server Sam was on point. First time there and it was amazing. Great food and a friendly staff.
Amazing!! Visiting from Canada, hospitality was great, everyone was friendly and the oyster shooter are the bomb, loved the oysters, shrimp and soup. We had a great time and made some new friends. Thank you for the memories.
Just visited last night with friends. The service was excellent and the raw oysters were delicious. I would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Great oysters, very fresh!! Bartenders are great and fresh catch, mountain trout, was amazing.
I'm a local chef and Pearlz is one of my favorite bars and restaurants in Charleston. Great atmosphere, delicious food and most of all awesome bar and food service!!
Superior staff and service. Ambiance is friendly/welcoming with the conversation level associated with people having a good time. Oh yeah, food is great!
The food was amazing, drinks were great and the service impeccable. Sweet and down to earth. We loved it!
Very nice environment. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great food would definitely eat there again.

Great place! We had the best oysters, can't wait to get back
Amazing little oyster bar. Went here by chance during happy hour and ended up two dozen oysters that were shucked fresh right in front of me.
Went back the next day and did the same. Loving oysters isn't a crime.
My husband and I ate at Pearlz this evening and I had one of the best lobster rolls ever. It was almost pure lobster, no filler and not very much mayo. The roll was also very tasty and buttery. My husband had a burger that he said was very much to his liking. Neither one of us cared for their homemade potato chips--too well done. The service was very good. We don't care for oysters, but they sure had plenty to choose from on their menu. It was pricey, but then I have paid as much for other lobster rolls that have NOT been nearly as good.
Fantastic oysters very fresh. Peel and eat shrimp were very good also. Good service made the experience very enjoyable
I have a gluten allergy and the manager came over to help me personally . She had warnings on things I did n 'to even think of!! They came up within personalized options for my dinner and it was incredible. ! I highly recommend this one if a kind place to try out.
Great food and great service. Nice variety oysters and everything was very fresh. One of the best meals we had in Charleston.
Awesome food and happy hour! This is one place I will keep going back to.
Fresh fresh fresh. The oysters are some of the best this area has to offer...so good we went back the next day. Staff was very attentive. This is a must for seafood lovers!
Our first time in, at first we had second thoughts. Glad we stayed around.
Started with a few great happy hour deals, oysters were fantastic both steamed and raw. Wanted to see how well they did on chowder and lobster bisque...not bad at all. One kids meal, perfect portion, fresh and hot to the table. Two adult dinners, wonderful. Fresh fish was clearly the way to go, handled the cooking perfectly. Try the fried oyster sliders they are winners.
What set this apart, and why i would go out of my way to go back is both our server Sara, and the Manager/ Chef/ all around good guy Rob. He not only walked us to our seats, came by to help with the menu, but also checked up on us while and after we ate. If you have room, get the bread pudding, they understand how it needs to taste. Thanks again.
Great food! Oysters are perfect- very fresh. The Caesar dressing was obviously house made, the flavor was wonderful. Jenna was a really good server, just the right blend of attentive and personable. We really enjoyed our meal.
Great food. I had the mahi mahi and swordfish tacos, some of the best I've had. My husband had the crab cake sandwich and he is still talking about it. After a week in Charleston, my husband still claims it to be one of the best meals we had. Our server was also amazing, gave us great recommendations and was very attentive.
Love this place, food, the Pearl family. Please come, we did twice in 2 days out of 3.
Great HH. This a a great little place that actually just expanded, so maybe not so little anymore, but they have a great Happy Hour menu and the GM Rob is a great addition. I have also had dinner here a few times and it was good, so try it for dinner as well...They probably have the best selection of oysters in Charleston.
Rob the new manager is great, on a very busy night he got us seated right away. He even shucked our oysters for us at the table! Nothing but good things to say about Pearlz. Great martinis too!
Great way to spend an unusually warm day in West Ashley!!. This was our third time enjoying the oysters at Pearlz. We sat outside and had gulf oysters on the half shell then switched over to the Carolina Cups from South Carolina!! You have to hand it to those SC oysters for that wonderful briny flavor!! Yum!! Also tried the oyster Caesar Salad. The oysters were fried perfectly! The oyster shooters were fun and tasty!! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The service has always been great there. If you find yourself craving oysters one sunny Saturday afternoon as we did this past weekend Pearlz is the place to go. Of course any day is a great day for Oysters at Pearlz..
Keep the old timey ice grinder, adds class!
Fabulous!. Pearlz, West Ashley is usually very crowded (because it's so good) so I was delighted to get a table for two with no wait on a Friday night! Drinks are priced reasonably with a good selection of wine and beer. We started with some raw Gulf Oysters- big, juicy ones! They were succulent, just the right texture and salty flavor. The mignonette was an excellent pairing. From their specials we ordered the lobster & gnocchi (the picture doesn't do it justice) although it was a small portion each bite was packed with flavor. I'll take quality over quantity any day! There were two big chunks of lobster meat and several tender gnocchis. We also chose two tacos- one was a special- a swordfish taco with fresh mangos the other was a seared tuna taco- the meat was incredible. Everything I have ever ordered at Pearlz has been top notch and fresh. It has a fun atmosphere as well.
Good food, slightly overpriced as it's more high end bar food than gourmet. Great relaxed atmosphere but go for the experience there are lots of better seafood restaurants nearby.
Great food and Amazing staff. Walked over there on a sunday when place we had planned on meeting was packed, and we couldn't of been happier! The food was amazing, the best grilled fish tacos I have had in Charleston and the staff couldn't of been better. Even after lunch when to coffee shop next door was closed we sat back down in their patio and enjoyed endless coffee thanks to the awesome staff, Simply couldn't of been happier, Pealz is my new go to meeting place in west ashley
Yummy. Had a dozen oysters on the half shell raw and they were great. It was nice watching the guy shuck them right in front of me...Really fresh ! The crab cake sandwich was good..Kind of alot more bread than crab but besides that the service was great the food was yummy and ill def be back !
Favorite Restaurant. I adore Pearlz! I've been to the West Ashley location several times now and have never been disappointed. The Oyster Shooters are magical. Yes, really. I've had the Crab Pizza, Oysters Rockefeller, Oyster Po' Boy, and Buffalo Fried Oysters and they're all wonderful.
They also give you a hearty glass of wine. For happy hour, they can't be beat.
My only complaint is that the raw/steamed oysters are not shucked. I don't mind shucking my oysters, but it's really awkward to do when seated and dressed up for a night out.
Oyster shots! They look weird but they are an experience to be had. Great people great location.
What great experience in Charleston. Shannon was our bartender and was right on the money with suggestions for oysters and wine. A must go in downtown Charleston.
Love it. What? you prefer Taco Spot? Were you born in a barn?
Could not be a more different kind of scene...Pearlz has fantastic food, great service, cool atmosphere, and the best bartenders in West Ash. And BTW..Pearlz is an oyster bar/restaurant that serves fish tacos among many other things...not an indoor taco stand..of COURSE it's more expensive. jeez.

Blackened Tuna Tacos!. Gourmet food well executed, great prompt service, cozy local environment. Highly recommend it!
Pearl is always a solid option and a great place to gather with friends. The food is good overall. My last experience was from a delivery and I will say that I thought that the gumbo was disappointing. I ordered the cup portion and the ratio of rice to gumbo was way off in my opinion. The gumbo itself was also rather thick and pasty and did not measure up to what I have had in the past and other authentic restaurants. Luckily there are plenty of other great options on their menu.
Loved this place. Decor was cozy, server Mia was top-notch - friendly, fun, and handled our antics with a sense of humor. Beers and wine were great. The seafood tower was killer - mostly seafood, yum! Clam chowder was creamy with lots of clams. Oysters, both raw and grilled, were rated excellent by our oyster lovers. Crab sandwich was delicious. Cod was tasty and well cooked but the breading, while good, just didn’t stick. And all well-priced. This is a great place for food and drink!
Pearlz has a decent happy hour that's nice to stop by and enjoy. Like many places right now, service can be hit or miss so bring along your patience and understanding and you'll be fine. The shrimp we got were just a touch mushy, and the hush puppies a bit 'meh ' Oysters were great- had raw and fried. The fried version were table favorites. $3 glasses of champagne/processco!
The location is near a small enclave of restaurants/bars and shops - cute area within a residential setting.
Overall a nice spot outside of downtown Charleston to connect with friends
Food was delicious and worth the price. The ambiance was laidback and relaxed and our waitress was amazing!! If we lived here we would be regulars. Stared with raw oysters, I had crab cakes with chips and broccoli salad and my husband had the lobster roll. We went all out but you could get out of here at a lower price. 10/10 would recommend!!!
We got the fried oysters, peel and eat shrimp, crab bisque, and the oyster shooters for happy hour. It was all perfect, the fried oysters were fried perfectly. Super unique oyster shooters and the bisque was great.
Quaint Dining Area between Stono River & Ashley River on Savanna Highway in Charleston.
Upscale and classic offerings. Indoor and outside dining.
Imaginative drinks featuring the fabulous & Spicy Oyster Shooter. Wow!
Fried Cod & Chips are a perfect.
As the name infers, there is every kind of Oyster menu item you can think of.
This is a place you have to frequent because there is variety and the execution is attempted to be the best around.
This is a fun area to dine. But Pearlz is probably one of the best and highlights the area very brightly.
Now . . . For the inside scoup!!!
Oyster shooter. Get one.
Oysters Rockefeller. Get it.
Fish and chips. Get it.
Just a very cool place.
We picked several different seafood places to eat at, but this one definitely won! Amazing value for everything you get. They really give you fresh high quality portions of seafood. The place is warm and friendly, and the food is excellent! If you go, you have to try the clam chowder. My husband and I were in heaven.
Pearlz in West Ashley is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. Great service, staff and food! Oysters are excellent, as were the shrimp, crab cakes, corn fritters, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and we will be back!
Great place for local hangout, seafood and drinks! Oysters are amazing here!!!!!Unfortunately it seems to have gone super casual compared to 2 years ago. It used to be a more upscale restaurant.
Virginia was our server tonight and she did not disappoint. She was absolutely lovely! I cannot thank her enough for the experience she gave us! We ordered the bottle of Story point and it was a very nice cabernet. The corn fritters, fried shrimp, and crab dip starters were mouth watering amazing! Then their frozen drink machine caught my eye. Virginia suggested I try both because they were both very tasty! However I chose the red/pink mixture. IT WAS AMAZING!! The next time I am in Charleston, Sc I will be back in ✨
Cody and the ladies run a tight ship. Fresh oyster shucked before you. Man I am full as a tick and didn't spend a fortune. Nice decor ample seating, street parking but not too congested on a Sunday.
We wanted seafood while in Charleston and this is one of our friends go to spots. We did takeout which can be ordered online. The website wasn't accurate with what was out of stock though, so we ordered over the phone.
Four of us split the Tuna Tartare, Baked Oyster Rockefeller (x2), Crab Dip, BLT Seafood Salad, Tuna Taco, Crispy Shrimp Taco, Lump Crab Cakes (x2), Grilled Asparagus, Andouille Cajun Red Rice, and Flash Fried Brussel Sprouts.
I thought this was going to be way too much food for four people, but it was the perfect amount. Portion sizes were pretty small.
I really loved the food. My favorite things were the Oyster Rockefeller, Crab Dip, Tacos, and Andouille Cajun Red Rice. Everything else was also great though.
The only thing that was disappointing was the BLT Seafood Salad. It sounded really good on the menu, but it was basically just a regular salad with a couple of pieces of seafood on it.
Based on portion sizes, I found this restaurant to be on the more expensive side. It's a seafood restaurant though, so that's to be expected. I'd recommend checking it out!
Was in South Carolina for the weekend. Had to have CharGrilled Oysters. Went to Pearlz for the lump cab cake and chargrilled oysters. Waitress was so nice and attentive. Environment was great. Now let's talk about the Oysters.... so good. The crab cake jus unbelievable. Def worth the visit. When back in SC will go for another round
