The pictures don't do this place justice. It is WAY BETTER in real life! The ambiance is amazing and the signs encompassing the walls keep your eyes entertained the entire time! The Lattes and Chai Teas put the best coffee shops to shame! And each breakfast plate we had was delivered with picturesque platting. Every bite was savory and delicious. And the coffee mugs! omg, the coffee mugs (or latte mug in my case) is HUGE! This is seriously one of the best breakfast places I've eaten at during this Spring Break trip.

Wonderful breakfast! I had the lox and hubby had a dish that resembled a garbage bowl filled with all types of meat (he loved it). Only complaining if 2 things. The young hostess with the tattoos and pierced face. Holy Cow, would it kill her if she smiled and said Good Morning?! What a first impression! Second, those metal chairs - very bad choice for a restaurant. My behind (average size) didn't fit comfortably. So pick a booth like we did. Bon Appetit 🍳

Black Magic Cafe is a cute spot to grab a bite. Really colorful and inviting. It's pet friendly, which is completely awesome. I don't know about lizards or birds but definitely dogs. The parking is a little on the tight side if they get busy but don't let that discourage you. Food was decent but not great. Drinks, however, were fantastic. I was in town for a mini vacation and noticed there was at least 1 other location so I'm sure they're all about the same. I'd probably return if I was in town again and maybe sit inside next time instead of the patio.

Wow. This place has such a cool vibe. Food was delicious, definitely liked the grits. French toast was amazing. I had the peanut butter honey latte, best coffe drink I have ever had.We did wait a long time for our food after we ordered, but server did tell us it was going to be a bit. Also went during busiest time. We will be returning for sure.

You can never go wrong with breakfast at Black Magic Cafe! I had the seasonal lavender lemonade mimosa and it was perfect! My husband wanted a bloody mary but they don't serve hard liquor until 10 am. Not a big deal, just something to note. We both got the standard egg breakfast. Everything came out quick and hot! We always look forward to stopping here when we are in town.

Happy accident! That’s what Black Magic Cafe was for me. After my wife and I had attempted to go to a cafe down the street, only to find out it was closed in arrival, my wife Google searched and found Black Magic Cafe and it did not disappoint! Much better vibe! The food was amazeballs! The grits!! Highly recommend 👌🏻 - definitely will make this a stop the next time we’re in town from Ohio. Don’t forget to shop small and buy some of their cool merch! We picked up a sweet coffee mug to add to our collection back home!

One of my favorite places on James Island!! Love the variety and interesting Twist on their sandwiches and other dishes that make them unique. Food is delicious! Coffee is great and service is always wonderful. Super cute Cafe with great outdoor seating area that's shaded for those hot summer months.

Have been to the West Ashley location and it was a great experience. Came to James Island and still was great but I do not advise you go on Saturday or Sunday morning because it is so slow!! It took like an hour just to get food. 30 minutes for a latte. I have severe allergies and they did a great job accommodating that. The portion sizes are good and the atmosphere is good. The servers have always been attentative and friendly.

The wait for a table is well worth it! The food was amazing. This was my first time visiting Charleston and happened to see this cafe. I'm not a big pancake person but they have a pancake with sausage in it and between the pancake is scrambled eggs with cheese. It is cut in half with a light dusting of powdered sugar. It was so filling I had to get a to go box.

We came and hour before close. While we enjoyed our food it was pretty standard. The name is more exciting than the overall look. Standard menu items but solid execution. Nothing I'd have to go back for specifically, but would definitely go back. It was a comfortable environment. Unfortunately it took more than 30mins to get our food and we got very little service, not bad service, just not much of it. I assume it's short staffing so I'm not really going to complain. I was thankful for good food, friendly faces, air conditioning and cold water. Fair prices. Definitely give it a try.

Killer breakfast/brunch spot! Love that it’s on the way to the beach from downtown (and our Airbnb on James Island). Just a good wholesome menu with lots of offerings having a Southern twist. Great vibe inside and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

We tried the fried chicken biscuit with scrambled egg and the French toast. Both were delish and I'll order both of these again! Great sausage gravy on the biscuits! The French toast used croissant and it was delish!

Quirkiest place I’ve been to so far. All menu items have sort of a twist in them. I’d never had breakfast tacos and absolutely loved them! The beverages are top notch as well. My wife and I even had a lot of fun reading different signs and quotes on the walls. Great staff, great place, would love to visit again soon when I’m in the area.

I loved everything about this cafe. The coffee drinks were delicious. The menu had everything you’d ever want for American breakfast plus some with their own delicious twists. You can purchase their own gear including the cups they serve your coffee in. There wasn’t a wait even though they seemed busy and everything was timely. I loved the seasoning on their potatoes.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. I’ve lived on folly for over a year now and finally made it here. They have the best coffee on the island, oh and smoothies, there’s also an espresso bar, but if none of that is for you, get the Bloody Mary and call it a day. Ask for Connecticut when you get to the host stand. They will seat you with Andrea (who’s from Connecticut) and it’s all down hill from there. Be chill, be cool, tip high, stay blessed. “Mic drop”….”Crowd goes wild”
