Amazing food, Good price for how yummy it is! Got the Pork Gyoza, Miso Soup, Sesame Chicken, and Fried Icecream and split it with two of my friends, Aji has got to be one of the best Asian restaurants in Charleston!

I cannot say enough good things about Aji Asian Bistro! At first, we thought the wait for our food was long - and maybe it’s a little longer than your standard place - but when we got our food and saw the presentation, we completely understood why! The prices are very competitive and the quality is top-notch. What sets this place apart from others is the care and art with which everything is arranged. Photos do not do justice. All of the staff we interacted with were appreciative, gracious, and very welcoming. In addition, their menu is extensive and has items not every sushi place does - uni (which I love), sweet shrimp with heads (I can’t understand why, but my boyfriend loves the heads the most), and more. All in all- you will not be disappointed. Come for the food, the atmosphere, and the smiles.

Love this place! My partner and I have been going here for years. The food and cocktails are phenomenal. The atmosphere is fine dining-esque, with relaxing smooth jazz playing most of the time. This is one of my go-to places on James island, and never disappoints!

A great spot for sushi on James Island. Aji has a wide variety of options and their rolls are always plated beautifully. The sushi pizza is a unique option!

I ordered the unagi don and a seaweed salad and loved it! 10/10 from me and reasonably priced. My wife got a cucumber roll, sweet potato tempura roll, and miso soup; she also loved it. The two of us split a pot of the dragon something green tea, which was served in a small pot with the leaves removed to prevent over-steeping (some places don't do this, which causes the tea to go bitter). Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. I recommend eating here!

All the food was delicious. It was prepared expertly and plated well. The staff were very friendly and exceedingly helpful. They were able to adapt their menu to our the dietary needs. It was a fun place to have a birthday party.

Everything you want out of a restaurant! Aji Asian Bistro was a real gem of a food find. Tucked away in an unassuming building this restaurant offers a clean, modern, and cozy place to have a wonderful meal. You can sit at a high back booth, at the sushi bar, or even on cushions in traditional Japanese fashion. The menu is as varied as the seating options with sushi, American Chinese food, and even a few Thai and Indian dishes mixed in. The menu is huge and the is variety great in case not everyone is a sushi fan. The tea is not to be missed both the presentation in beautiful tea pots and the variety make it a must order. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. Everything was carefully put on the plate and the flavors spot on. My sashimi was fresh, tasty, and artistic. The price for all of this atmosphere and great food is also very reasonable. My husband and I have officially named Aji's our favorite Asian restaurant in Charleston and will be back again and again.

Hands down the best sushi I've had in Charleston within the last 5 years! All of the hand and specialty rolls were extremely fresh and flavorful. Excellent tea offering with over 10 different listings on the menu. Service was great, too!

This place is much needed on James Island. Every time I drive by it seems to be packed with cars. Great chicken dishes and pretty authentic as well.

Went hear based on a recommendation from our airbnb host. The sushi is delicious and the prices are really fair. The sushi platter below was less than $25 when we went and was great. The servers are very attentive as well. We'd go again anytime.

I love this place, the ambience is incredible. The hibachi was delicious, the rice was tasty and the vegetables were nice and crisp. The gyoza was very good and the filling and dipping sauce were exactly what you want out of a pork dumpling. You can also get nice thick slices of sashimi here. Everything we ordered came out perfect, totally worth a visit.

I dont post reviews often, but I do have to gush a little about this place. Every time I have been to this establishment they have been the most accommodating and lovely crew/ownership I have seen in a long time. The food is always the best quality, best sushi on the island. The owners work there rear ends off and it shows. I will continue to frequent as always. I suggest the cowboy roll, and the fried cheese cake. Just tried the sea urchin roll, gotta say it's like the foie gras of the sea! If you have an issue with quality food taking a couple mins longer then you should get a pot of their delicious relaxing tea.

This place has weathered the pandemic with great adaptability. It was packed last night.. They have really great sushi. We had the love boat, was more than enough for 2. Great service. The prices are very reasonable. I have tried some of the kitchen entrees at lunch. They are also very good.
