My favorite restaurant in Charleston. Everything is delicious, the portions are huge, prices are reasonable, and the people who run the place are good humans. My friends and I always had so much fun coming here for trivia, bingo, BYO bloody contests, and to celebrate life. God I miss this place (moved to Colorado last year, but think of Dashi and those golden eggs every day lol).
I had good experience eating at Dashi. I had the soup which was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal and recommended the plates they had. It family friendly with good parking. The decor is whimsical and entertaining. Price is ok for the portion served.
I love this place and come regularly for the tofu burrito. It’s delicious. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant does a great job engaging its customer base. However the prices are a bit high especially given the location. The burrito doesn’t come with a side. However for less money you get a burger with a side in downtown Charleston at Rutledge Cab Co. I’ll keep coming back but think it’s in bad taste not to offer a free side. Chips cost next to nothing.
Found this place on the way to work and they have a good selections of burritos and Asian lunch dishes. I got the stir fry noodles with chicken and they were ok, not too bad, just a little bit salty because of too much sauce I guess. My friends for the burritos and they were good, no complains with the size or taste. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for a quick lunch other that fast food, Just be aware that if you get the noodles and a soda, it’ll cost around $20 without tip, a little bit pricy for a lunch dish.
Dashi is a little gem of North Charleston. Their combination of Asian and Mexican inspired dishes are definitely unique. The outside of their restaurant doesn't look like much (we almost couldn't find it because it doesn't have much of a presence), but inside the decor is vibrant and fun.
We came for the Duck Ramen, which has pork belly, cabbage, kimchi, pickled jalapeno, and an egg cooked in a crispy breaded outer layer. It was truly delicious. My only complaint is that it was a bit salty. We also had the Steamed Pork Buns, which were a little dry compared to other ramen places we've visited in New York.
Overall, we will definitely be coming back to try a few other interesting things on the menu. It's nice to support creative local businesses like Dashi :)

Overall a fine experience. Liked the food and the overall experience. The quantity is really good so if you have a small appetite then do consider to share your food order. Liked the wrap and it was very heavy and full filling so could eat only half for lunch and then at night. Enjoyed the steamed buns with pork as well. Give it a shot if you are nearby.
The food was delicious! They have a great menu. Something for everyone. They also have a full bar and good wine selection. Inside and outside seating.
Take my money and keep feeding me! Best food I've had in a long time. Didn't have to wait long either. Came in around 12 on a friday and got my food in less than 15 minutes. I will definitely be back.
Not only is Dashi my favorite restaurant - they’re also owned by some of the most inclusive and caring people I’ve ever met.
It’s a big deal to say “I’ve worked at [restaurant] and it’s still my favorite”. Dashi was a favorite before they gave me a job (amidst an unexpected layoff during covid), and since working for Stephen and Oscar - Dashi is still my favorite. I eat here at least once a week… they make dang near every single thing in house. They use fresh ingredients. They love their community. They have an amazing staff. And the owners are respectful to everyone - of all walks of life. It’s a very inclusive place and I love having Dashi in our community 💕
First time dining at Dashi and it was outstanding! Fun atmosphere and great staff. The Pad Thai was outstanding (as was everything else we had on the menu!) Highly recommend that you give this place a try!
