Dined at Tequila's 3/31/2014 in the new location on N. Cochran in the old train depot. I have always like the old Depot with its rich memorabilia; some of it still remains, but the decor is definitely 'south of the border.' We were greeted by the owner and promptly seated with menus. The restaurant was not busy. Our waiter was attentive but let us have ample time to read the extensive menu. I selected the "Charlotte Especial" (grilled marinated chicken breast with grilled onions, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese. Served with Mexican rice, lettuce, sour cream, and fresh flour tortillas). The meal was prepared quickly and served steaming hot with the tortillas wrapped in foil to keep them fresh and moist. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious. Very generous portion of which I could only finish about one-half of it. Overall, very tasty dinner, good and friendly service. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will return. Price about $10 for entree.
We went with a party if 11 but did not call ahead. Their large tables were in use at the time and they were going to put us at a couple different tables but we opted to wait. While we waited the staff checked on us several times and even brought us water. We were seated about 20-30 minutes after we arrived. They quickly took our orders and brought our drinks. We received our food and no one's order was messed up and part way through our meal the manager brought the kids strawberry daquiris and said it was for our wait. They then found out it was my birthday soon and sang to me and brought me a treat too! Amazing service and amazing food! We will be returning.
First time there and was totally impressed.. Promt service and probably the best mexican food i have had anywhere.... We will be back!
My new favorite restaurant! The seafood and Texas fajitas are the best! Everything I've tried has been excellent! Service is beyond good. Plus it's such a fun atmosphere with the cool Mexican painted tables and chairs and even the birthday bell that they ring on your birthday as they sing to you with a sombrero on your head. What more could you ask for? โก
Awesome place! Service is quick, great drinks, fair prices, and we are always amazed at how quickly the food comes!! Even when they've been slammed, the food is in front of us before we cam blink an eye!

We came here for a friend's birthday and had a good time. The staff was nice & the food came out pretty fast. I had to pineapple loco and it was really good. They had some construction going on and it didn't smell the best but everything else was good.

After a 2-hour dance recital..... It was time for some grub. Our stomachs landed us at tequila's tacos and bar. I switched it up this time. I ordered the Taco Shots, with a side of Corn and Mexican rice, and washed it all down with a flight of margaritas.
The taco shots came with two steaks and two chickens. Both proteins were delicious and cooked to perfection. I topped them with pico de gallo (all ingredients were fresh), and also with my corn and Mexican rice.
I had a passion fruit, mango, strawberry and pineapple margarita, as part of my flight. My favorite one was a passion fruit. #Gratuityadded

Really Great spot!! The atmosphere is really chill,decor is different & colorful. Went on a Sunday afternoon, got seated right away. Our server was really nice & took the time to explain the dishes (since it was our first time there). Food was delicious!! Worth every penny. Honestly would have gotten 5 stars if my drink was a little stronger. With Tequila in the name,I expected a heavy pour but still worth it & TOTALLY going back!!!
Delicious food and fast service. We eat at this restaurant at least 2-3 times a month. There are so many great dishes on the menu. The drinks are delicious. My favorite dishes are Texas Rice, Chimichanga (beef), Steak Fajitas, Combo platters (taco, burrito, tostada).
We got a jumbo jalapeรฑo pitcher which was very good compared to other places we have been in the area. Fresh made guacamole was definitely worth the money. Food was excellent. Our waitress Jennifer was very nice and helpful and extremely accommodating. Will definitely be back!
Had an amazing experience at this place. Its close to the college so alot of students hang out there. The food was great and the drinks were amazing. Service is kinda slow and the server kept forgetting things. There was a small language barrier but that let me know the place is authentic
I've been curious about this place every since I've seen it. Someone mentioned to me also that the place would be a good pick. My grandparents, my son and I were treated very well. I will return cause it's about the customer service for me, as well as the foody food. The platters were huge and doggy bags were needed. Treat yourself, your family and friends and go. They won't disappoint
This has become one of my favorite restaurants. My waiter Paradise was an absolute sweetheart. She was patient and very informative. The food and atmosphere was great. I'll definitely be a return customer!!

Tasty options for everyone!!! I chose this location to celebrate my Best Friend's Birthday. I'm so happy I did. Within minutes of arriving to our section, the waiters and waitresses were already setting up the menus as well as salsa dip for all the tables. Very spacious, the drinks were tasty. Jose was our main waiter and her did a great job. The dish I chose was absolutely delicious!!!. The staff did a special performance for the Birthday Boy which was priceless because he was not expecting it. As a group we said we would definitely be back.
2nd time there. It's a nice restaurant. I was a little disappointed with the beef pizza served with a cup of its broth. Next time I'll try something else. My drinks were they star of my show. The bartender was awesome. She was knowledge about the tequilas. My drinks tested great, very well balanced. Her presentation was one of the best that I've ever seen!!
Busy sports bar. We sat in the bar area and I can say thr decor is vibrant. Our server was very sweet and got our drinks promptly. Tea and shots - 4 diff. Flavs of margaritas and it was worth the 8$. Highly suggest that. For apps we ordered spinach dip which is melted cheese and they added spinach to it - tasted good. For dinner he ordered steak with rice and beans which he is still talking about how good it was and I ordered flaula - 4 friend tequetos which were really good. Overall a good time but I walked out with a headache. Logistic issue - if you do get seated by the window, the setting sun is bound to hit you . Their windows are nice and big but no shade to pull down to avoid this. I just wish there was some sorta sun block.
I took my son who is a student at Charlotte to lunch at Tequilas Tacos and Bar on a Saturday afternoon. The place has a cool vibe and the service was great. The chips were some of the best I have had at a Mexican restaurant, and the salsa was just the right amount of spice. My son ordered the Texas Rice. It is a hug portion of a bed of rice with steak, chicken and shrimp. He loved it and ate it all. I asked our server to recommend something to me that she loves. I had the Chilaquiles with steak, which were so tasty. I will definitely come back here and recommend this place.
Angel was a good server. The atmosphere was fresh and festive. Everything was clean, the tables wasn't even sticky. The chips was freshly made they was still warm to the touch. Enchiladas rancheros fabulous, cheese steak taco magnificent. I definitely will be back
I got the pick 3 for $11.75. So much food. Very juicy and flavorful chicken. Staff was amazing. Our server was very efficient and on top of things even though he was the only one it appeared on staff. They have done an amazing job turning around the vibe the previous restaurant that was here had.
