Definite hole in the wall where I’ve been eating here for years and years now...never a disappointing meal.
Love their spanakopita; stuffed grape leafs; gyros & baklava...everything is great!!!
My wife does not even like Greek food, but is a fan of their cheeseburgers & fries.
Honestly by far the best Greek restaurant in North Carolina. The food was prepared and served 5 minutes after we order , the waitress was sweet and the food was perfect! All Greek lovers need to try the Gyros here. And the Greek culture made a great experience ! I definitely recommend you to eat here !
This place is a hidden gem! Not only was the food amazing - the service was incredible! Thomas is the man! I definitely recommend this place!
Mark and I thought we would try this restaurant after his boss recommended it. Let me tell you, the food is AMAZING! Our waitress was so sweet. The owner was telling us about the different meats that they offer. We both ordered the Gyro dinner and it was so tasty! The Greek salad with the homemade dressing was delicious, the french fries were nice and crispy and the gyro meat was so flavorful. We ordered extra taziki sauce and it’s a good thing because the homemade sauce was the best I’ve ever had!! We will definitely go back!!
Very good food and the waitresses are on point. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Found this lil gem online. It was awesome!! Hummus and hot pitas for appetizer. Yum! Chicken Gyro with extra Feta. Delicious! And for a side, the Greek Salad. Amazing :) Definitely recommend :) Our waitress was sweet and very personable. See you all soon
I could dip or wrap their hot pitas around anything on their menu and be in heaven. Fresh ingredients with great Greek seasonings. The staff is super friendly too.
My son and I goggled Greek Restaurants near the Doubletree by Hilton on W. Trade Street and found thus gem so we had to try it.
We were seated by a friendly personable waitress who took our order, which I ordered the Pork Souvlaki Dinner, comes with greek salad and my son got the Gyro Pita sandwich and both came with fries. The meals arrived quickly and both were hot and fresh. I had ask and received extra Tzatziki ( a big bowl ). We loved all of the meal. I had the pleasure of being stationed in Greece for a year in 1985 and it brought back memories of dinner in Athens. The meat hog and tender, pu r a bread soft and warm, fries crispy & hot. OUTSTANDING Many Thanks Mad Greek Cafe !!!
I am simply mad* about The Mad Greek restaurant. Demetria always treats me like family when I go there. I live in Rock Hill and gladly make the trek to this restaurant for the amazing pancakes, eggs and bacon that are always cooked to perfection, which is served all day! I have always been particular about the way my eggs are cooked. I hate it when the whites of my eggs are runny. Just, ew. My husband is worse than me, I think, always getting the chicken Gyro without onions or tomatoes and can't eat anything that touches a tomato, onion, beans (of any kind) and eggs ofcourse.
The best Greek food in Charlotte!!!! The Gyro Dinner is my favorite!!! Great family from Lefkada runs this business!!!!
Best gyro I've had in a long time!! The pita was freshly baked, and super fluffy. The gyro meat was tender and juicy and the homemade tzatsiki sauce was, hands down, the best tzatsiki sauce I've ever had. Glad I dropped in during my visit to Charlotte!
Food was good ordered the chicken gyro didn’t like the fries at all. Loved the tzatziki sauce. Customer service was quick and workers was friendly. They offer dine-in and have a patio. Haven’t tried anything else. All food pictured below, like this review if it helped.
1st time the staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was fresh, and the salad was really good. The Lamb was good( a little small). Overall , it was good. I would go back and try a chicken dish.
Got take out of the chicken souvlaki platter. So delicious! My yiayia and former restaurant I worked at in HS never skewer veggies with the chicken but they were delicious. It was so filling — the platter came with chicken, veggies, rice, French fries, a full pita bread, tzatziki (I swapped for hummus!), and a large Greek salad. Will def be back with friends. This is enough for like 3 meals for me
Delicious authentic Greek food. Their hummus and feta dip with pita are incredible. Same with spanakopita and their desserts. I’ve had their Greek salad and a chicken gyro - both were 10 out of 10. The servers are super sweet and the outdoor patio is really nice. Highly recommend!
The food was excellent except for the fries
I am not a fan of shoe strings but to each his own right. Apps and dinner were great! Very attentive staff. I do wish they had a better selection of adult beverages though. Maybe something inspired by Greece since not all of us can afford the luxury of going there in our lifetime. The side salad though, omg it is big enough to be a full meal. I couldn't order anything with the side salad or I never would have been able to eat all my food. Overall a good experience.
This is a family restaurant that is welcoming and has delicious food. We were looking for something new to try in the area and this was one of the choices. I had the gyro pita with feta fries and my husband had the Philly pita with feta fries. Both of them were delicious! They came out hot and the sauce was just right on them. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. I was able to have a video meeting and it was not loud at all. We will return for more great food.
We had a great experience at The Mad Greek. This was a great “fast casual” type place and is now our favorite Greek spot in Charlotte. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The only thing that we didn’t “love” were the French fries. The Greek salad dressing has a hint of mustard and is very tasty.
Grape vine leaves: 5/5
Greek Salad: 5/5
Greek chicken pita: 5/5
French fries: 3/5 (coulda been a bad batch)
We will be back!!
We ordered gigante beans and dolmas for an appetizer. Split the chicken souvalaki dinner. Oh and enjoyed a Greek lager while we waited. Service was attentive and friendly. There were absolutely old folks partying under the grape vines outside.
It was so much food! I could not stop eating! The tziki(sp?) Was light and delicious. Dolmas tasted fresh made. The pita was warm and soft! Gigante beans in tomato sauce were divine.
Wish I didn't live so far away.
Delicious food, good portions, fast service, casual atmosphere. Nice outside patio.
What a delicious restaurant! I’ve worked close-by for so long and have been missing out. I got a grilled chicken salad today and it was so very good. Everything tasted great, chicken grilled just right, and their Greek salad dressing was delicious. Will be back to try more!
There was plenty of places to sit inside and out. Service was quick & attentative. The food was out quickly. This is the tour of Italy. The food was tasty & the tea was good.
First stop upon arriving in Charlotte. Locally owned mom/pop restaurant. Not the best presentation of the food, but delicious and flavorful dishes. The Dolmades was simple, but good. They do not skimp on the meats for the souvlakia. The rack of lamb was okay, Tried Mythos beer, not bad. Their homemade baklava is a good portion as well. Did not disappoint. Oh and did I mention EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE?! Definitely worth dining at. Thank you☺️
Best Greek food I've ever had. I loved the lamb gyro meat and the pitas here are the best I've had yet. I tried moussaka for the first time here as well and it was fantastic, even though I'm still not quite sure what it consisted of.
First off, I can confidently say that I had the best Philly steak pita here. Everything was well seasoned and the staff was very kind here. My buddies had fried calamari that was perfectly breaded and seasoned as well. If you've never been here, give it a go. That Philly pita with fries is money. Highly recommended.
Very nice atmosphere and very good food. Shown are the gyro and the all american gyro burger. I’ve never heard of a gyro burger but my boyfriend said it was very good. Our server was nice. Dessert is also good. We got a cupcake. If you’re looking for a nice place to eat some Greek food I highly recommend coming here!
First time visiting and will now be the only Greek restaurant that we will go to from now on! I have grown up with a Greek community, eaten at many Greek restaurants across many states, and even have two close friends who also own Greek restaurants of their own so with my picky preferences, I chose to drive an hour away for true authentic Greek food and was absolutely impressed with Mad Greek! I will have to admit that this has been my favorite restaurant of them all!!
The Grecian delight gave us a platter of our favorite appetizers, my rack of lamb was so tender, juicy, and freshly marinated. My husband's chicken souvlaki was divine and our picky children loved their salmon and calamari! Our waitress was so kind and patient with us and the owner (I believe) even welcomed us and greeted our children with chocolate bars! We also loved the outdoor patio area as we're still trying to remain safe from Covid.
Thank you so much for such a delicious meal and for providing such a welcoming and safe environment for my family to enjoy!! We will definitely be back very soon!!
