First time visiting with my wife. This place exceeded our expectations and we will return. We had 2 drinks each, 3 small plates, and a dessert and our bill was $100 without tip. Very reasonable considering the quality of food and time that goes into preparing each dish. We ate at the bar and bartender took great care of us and made some great recommendations. For small plates we had scallops with mixed greens, cold smoked asparagus topped with over easy egg, and fresh made ricotta gnocchi. The asparagus was absolutely amazing and one of the best dishes I have had in Charlotte in a long time. Scallops were cooked perfect and greens were a nice texture for the dish. Gnocchi was so light and perfectly prepared. For dessert we had a chocolate stout cake topped with fudge and biscoff ice cream. As you can see from the picture it was amazing and I could not get a picture before it was devoured. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
Both octopus and the scallop are great. Very tender and the seasoning brings out a lot of flavors. The pork belly bun is a bit too spicy and the bun is a bit bitter. I also think the bun is a little bit thick. The pork belly literally melted in my mouth though. Overall I would recommend this place
We recently came here for restaurant week. I've been wanting to check it out since they opened and their restaurant week menu looked good so it seemed like a good time to try it.
They let you order off both the restaurant week menu and the normal menu which is nice. We decided to do one restaurant week order and then order other things off the regular menu that we really wanted to try.
For restaurant week we ordered the notorious P.I.G puppies, the buttermilk kettle fried chicken, and the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Off of the regular menu we got the point Judith calamari, the octopus special, the ricotta gnocchi, and the local burrata. We were also with another couple and shared everything. We tried a little bit of the fried green tomato caprese, the Asian BBQ skirt steak, and ice cream trio they got as well.
I'll start by saying that everything was delicious. My favorites were the calamari, the octopus, the fried chicken, the ricotta gnocchi, and the bread pudding. The calamari was the star of the show. It was amazing. Fresh. Great sauce. The only calamari I've had that even compares was in a tiny seaside town in Ireland.
We tried a few drinks as well. We had Dat Juice, Some Like It Hot, and The Uncle Eddy. Dat Juice was my favorite, but they were all very good. I will say that as good as they were, I'd probably skip them next time to cut down on bill.
The service was incredible. We had the friendliest most helpful waiter. He made great recommendations for us.
Given the small plates style, it's not a cheap restaurant, but you get some really great food.
We all loved it. I would highly recommend Zeppelin for your next special occasion!
Cool atmosphere and great service. Went on a week night, so they weren't super busy. The food was good over all. Had the Caprese which was a 10! The carrots were also delicious. The Avocado Lobster Toast had too many flavors going on and didn't seem fresh. The drinks are impressive! Their choice of music does not fit the atmosphere, you might expect more chill house type, not rap.
Everything about this place is unique, from the ambiance (Black & White movies and 90s Hip Hop) to the colorful menu.
The staff is very sociable and the tapas are much larger than normal, and that is reflected in the price.
Zeppelin is all that and a bag of chips!
We went there for Valentines day and it did NOT disappoint. The bartenders are Mixologists for sure! They were whipping up some rather special drinks, and not your common Margarita.. but some very beautiful cocktails! The Calamari, was divine! Fresh, Tender, and seasoned perfectly in a lite chili sauce with biased cut scallions. Off the chart good! The wait staff was professional and yet personable. Charlotte Agenda rated this one of the top 25 beautiful restaurants and I would say, I agree.
The ambience is a hip homage to the era before 1950. The restaurant is in a renovated warehouse.
Staff is friendly and knowledgable about the menu.
First small plate was the avocado toast. The avocado smear on the excellent brioche slice was unbelievably good. It was the ultimate avocado.
Second plate was the Wagyu tartare and it was heavenly. The wagyu was a melt in your mouth flavor. This dish is worth a visit if you try nothing else on the menu.
Third up was the nightly pasta special. For us it was a charred scallion pasta in a parmesean small neck clam sauce. The pasta was incredibly delicious and the sauce was potently delicious.
Then we had the Notorious P.I.G. puppies. The bbq that accompanied the hush puppies was succulent and flavorful. The whipper honey butter was a good pairing to the hush puppies. The hush puppies were a smidge dry unfortunately.
For dessert we had the chocolate stout cake. The cake was very rich and had great flavor but was slightly dry. The Biscoff ice cream was amazing.
Definitely worth a visit.
I like what they're trying to do here. A tailored approach to cocktails and food. The wait team was very insightful and explained the concept of the food and drinks. Overall giving you a robust full experience. Menu is very short but that should be expecting given the type of restaurant. Overall it's a good place to check out. Menu can be pricier than expected but you're going here for an experience.
The food was great! I'm not sure if I would come here all the time, but it was nice to have something different to try. We ordered a few things to try a good variety of their dishes. It's definitely tapas style so keep that in mind when choosing this restaurant.
This place was far better than I ever expected. I tried the Zepplin Old Fashioned and Manhattan. The old fashioned was outstanding and the Manhattan was truely unique. The carrots were worth the trip by themselves. We also loved the fried chicken. Nice and spicy! Awesome new spot!
This place has small portions to share with a southern twist menu and we'll crafted cocktails. We had the Notorious PIG- hate the name, but was tasty. Large hush puppies with pulled pork inside and out served on a smear of honey butter. The tartare uniquely plated- very stylized but caviar from fish caught locally was not very tasty. The most outstanding item on the menu is the Octopus. It is over the top. I would go back for this dish alone. Most of the menu is locally sourced and the cocktail menu is well designed with in-house crafted infusions - cherries and syrups. Our waiter, Peter, was Amazing - very knowledgeable and interesting guy. Worth a visit.
Love the vibe of this place. Have enjoyed and sampled a lot of the food as well as many of the specialty cocktails. You can tell the bartenders really enjoy the creativity of the types of drinks they make. They also have seasonal dishes.
The staff is on point. Ever time I get a new drink, it had a story behind it and how it was made. Food was out of this world and the cooks definitely put there soul into the food. Wish I took more pics, but I was to busy drooling.
First time visiting. I met Josh outside the building after my friend and I parked in the lot next to the restaurant. He suggested we come back when they opened at 5. We walked around to the other places around there to pass time. We came back and sat at the bar. It's really cute in there and everyone was nice. I had the seasonal pasta and it was a goat cheese ravioli. I forget what the sauce was but I think there were some nuts and arugula. It was so tasty looking that my friend decided to order herself some! It was delicious and I was stuffed 😋 My friend had the 'Cuatro de Cinco' and it was yummy. I'll have to try something off the eclectic drink list next time. Oh, and the music was Jumpin' on Josh's Spotify list 😁 Good music gets me every time!
Very good food, beautiful atmosphere and great waitress! I will most likely return, though it is 45 minutes from my house.
Cool vibe, wish they had a DJ when we came. Definitely worth a visit. The kettle chicken was amazing.
Phenomenal food here. Loved everything about Zeppelin. The hush puppies with eastern style BBQ was a perfect appetizer. Fried chicken was the best I've had in a long time. Then to top it off, the Krispy Kreme donut bread pudding blew me away. Highly recommend this place!!
Amazing handcrafted cocktails present beautifully with fantastic service. I did not order food this visit but every time I do it's amazing, dare I say perfect!
brunch menu is awesome and the cocktail list is even better. Love the atmosphere as well.
