The food was top notch, ambience � and live band put the cherry on top. I highly recommend this place if you want to eat good food.
AMAZING! Discovered the restaurant driving past one weekend afternoon. SO glad we came back to eat. The food and staff is amazing! Set in a proper home, it’s inviting with a hip cozy vibe. I’m planning to bring my family when they come to visit. Located in the historic fourth ward, you can check out the homes in the neighborhood before or after dinner. Make it a point to drop in - you’ll love it!
A gem in the heart of Charlotte. Great food and atmosphere and a beautiful decor. The desserts are to die for. It's the best place if you have a moment in your day to sneak away from the hustle and bustle of uptown, you're looking for that perfect spot to meet your friends for drinks or if you want that romantic dinner for 2. Poplar Street Cafe is amazing!!!!
Great place to start the evening off or finish it off, particularly if you can catch live music on the patio.

One of my favorite restaurants in town! Seriously, this place is awesome! The ambience is quaint and cute. You can dine in one of the beautiful dining rooms or you can dine outside in a gorgeous & beautiful setting. I love how warm & friendly the staff is to their customers.... Makes you feel at home. And the food and desserts are so delicious.... Incredibly delicious!
I live right beside the poplar st cafe, and I eat here at least two times a week! I can not say enough about how incredibly delicious the food is, and the service is as good as the food!!! Porshe(hope I spelled that right) and Trish are always incredibly accommodating! They go above and beyond to make sure I am happy!!! I hate the person below didn't have a good experience but typically if you tell someone they will make it better than right!! I love the consistency with the food and service and would recommend this place to anyone...my friends are in love as well!!! Keep up the great work!!

Wonderfully romantic setting, good food and service. A bit pricey but worth it!
I was there last night for the first time and I can't describe how amazing the food was, the music, the atmosphere and the service were also incredible. By far this is my wife and I favorite place in Charlotte.
Lats Saturday evening I hosted a couples' baby shower at Poplar Tapas and everything was great! The food was delicious and the service phenomenal!
A Gem in 4th Ward! Great Ambiance, Food and Service. The Prosciutto Wrapped Figs and the Open Faced Salmon were two of my favorites. Will be back again soon!
I have eaten here twice and it's wonderful. I don't normally post reviews, but this place is a gem. Check it out.

This was our first visit to Poplar Tapas Wine & Spirits tonight! It was located in a quaint neighborhood in Charlotte. It had street parking, which we didn't have any trouble finding a spot. It had great outdoor seating with live music starting around 7 pm. The staff was very friendly and took exceptional care of us. The inside is very charming and the food was outstanding! Love that they did not over feed you.... the plates were just the right size portions. Would definitely highly recommend this place for dinner! We will be back for sure!
It is a very good place, the food is delicious, I ordered the Andean chicken dish and my boyfriend ordered the garlic shrimp, everything was very delicious and they have a wide variety of food and also vegetarian food, the drinks are very delicious, they have a list of special drinks every month, something very creative. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cool, very classic and the waiters are very attentive. in general everything was very good.

Delicious food and excellent service! The patio is beautiful and the building is a gorgeous historic spot. I had the arugula y pera salad and the maracuya pork belly as well as the passionfruit mousse (as you can tell, I like passionfruit).
We had a really great experience here on 9/17. This place is so charming, in an old Victorian house. The patio dining is romantic and beautiful. Our server, Jenny, couldn’t have been better. She was prompt, attentive, and so friendly…. A hard find today! The food was delicious and full of flavor, not salt. We will be back!
Walking in the neighborhood and found this place.. I love all decorations and Fernando are very friendly , Drink very reasonable price 🍷. Definitely come back again pretty soon
Such a hidden gem in the fourth ward. Love the outdoor patio (though there’s not much shade during the late afternoon as summer sets in). The inside is wonderful — the bar is to the left after you walk in and has a great ambiance for grabbing a drink and unwinding. The dining space feels like you are in someone’s home, a great atmosphere for catching up with friends. Street parking is usually easy to find and there are meters on Church, which is only a two block walk. Just make sure you read all the posted signed! The arugula salad is delicious as is the avocado appetizer is nice, too. Definitely worth visiting.
The location and ambiance is fantastic. Food is boring for an upscale location. They could do way better. Our server was FANTASTIC
Excellent local restaurant! Food and drinks are always amazing and the atmosphere is super relaxed, one of our favorite places for a date night! Check out their monthly event night!! Went recently for their Argentina night with some excellent salsa dancers and themed food with wine pairings! Highly recommended!
Would rate it more of a 3.5... just based on drinks and a shared appetizer. It was walking distance to where we were staying… was busy on a Thursday afternoon. Has nice outdoor seating. I had a glass of wine and hubby had an old fashion of which he describes as “average”, nothing special. Wine selection by the glass is minimal. We split the CHAMPIÑONES CON QUINOA - baked mushroom with quinoa which was tasty. Inside decor is kind of dark. Worth visiting.
Visiting Chatlotte on my wife’s birthday we went to the restaurant to relax. Soon as we walked in the door we rec a warm greeting fr the staff. Fernando did a excellent job with his menu and drink recommendations. The service he provided was a once in a life time experience. We will definitely come back to enjoy the atmosphere!
Wow! What a great place. My wife and I split the choriza flatbread and the bocados de carne (steak on a skewer). Both were excellent and a generous size. We then finished it off with their homemade deserts - tres leches and chocolate cake. Everything was exceptional. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We will for sure be back again. The restaurant is in a beautiful turn of the century building in 4th Ward. They have a lovely patio space and that is a great space in the warmer weather. Check it out!
Jenny & Fernando makes the whole experience unforgettable. Tapas are excellent, totally recommend passion fruit sangria.
Everything was absolutely perfect. Live music. Delicious mashed potatos and salmon, rich chocolate cake. I will definitely be returning ❤
The atmosphere is 5/5 - gorgeous restored house, classical guitar music, interesting art. The food is ok- 3/5 good but nothing was really stand out. We tried a few of the ‘tapas’ and the best thing was the steak tacos- very fresh, good tortillas, and a tasty creama sauce. The menu doesn’t really feel like an actual tapas type menu, there are not a ton of small plates to choose from. We only tried one cocktail, which was good. We will definitely go back for the vibe.
