Quick service, although she didn't seem like she wanted to be there too much, and she only brought me one refill even though I needed a second one less than halfway through my meal. I ordered manicotti and it was good but I've had better. Wasn't extremely expensive and overall there were no real problems I just am a picky person about the atmosphere of restaurants.

Good pizza, penne amalfitana delicious with tons of garlic. Owners attentive, hilarious good natured. Prices good andattention given to my kids. Across from uncc perfect.
Being from Syracuse, it's hard to find good pizza in NC. I was delighted to find that Amalfi's pizza was just like I'm used to and will certainly be getting pizza from there often. The restaurant was clean and comfortable too.
I really miss this place.... I only lived in Kannapolis for a year before moving back to Jersey, but this was a place that my family visited 2-3 times a week. The owner Mike greeted and treated my family as if we were part of his own... And the food they made there was the best Italian food in the area... We visit every time we pass through...
It's not often that people refer you somewhere, and it's as good as they claim... This is a place that I'd recommend to anyone that's looking for a good meal and service..
My advice: Smooz the owners - their great food only tastes better if you like them and they like you!. A couple of different groups of my friends LOVE Amalfi's. They go there a lot. Until recently, I had never been. Now I am a FAN. It is what it is. It is a small, family owned Italian restaurant in a shopping strip that serves delicious, affordable, fresh cooked food. I have been with only a couple of friends and I have been as a part of larger groups. Food and service has been superb each meal. I have ordered straight from the menu (like the Fettuccine Alfredo and Pasta Prima Vera) and I have started with a menu item and asked for a pasta switch AND no meat but add more veggies because I like the description of the sauce. Each came to me DELICIOUS! I did not notice much else on their menu but pizzas, pasta, calzones (I will try the calzones one day very soon. They look good!). Italian, that is. So, if that is not what you want there is no need for you to go there. Their house Chianti is good, too. I have had it each time I have been there. I think the whole key to really enjoying yourself is go inside, get comfortable, introduce yourself to Mike (the owner) and expect to have a tasty meal. Mangi e goda di.
Good, cheap, and Italian owned pizza place right next to UNCC!
Delicious real Italian food. I watched the chefs pound the flour to make my specialty calzone stuffed with spinach, bacon, ricotta and mozarella ($6.95) which was absolutely amazing. The Tiramisu was smaller than I expected for the price ($6) but it was so decadent that it was worth every penny!! The owner was awesome and we chatted for some time about Italy, New York, a Japanese cat figurine at the register and his Italian wife who kindly translated a word or two. The place is cozy and welcoming... Will definitely go again!!
Delicious Sicilian pizza 🍕 thick, crispy and filling crust. Would highly recommend ordering a side of marinara for dipping as well. Fellow lactose-free eaters, Amalfi's can do cheese free or half and half for those who have cheese-loving companions.
One of my favorite pizza joints in the Charlotte area! Always fresh, always fast, and their customer service is the best. If you call ahead, they can have it ready for you to pickup.
The atmosphere is very nostalgic and comfortable. I ordered a delicious veggie pizza, food was amazing. Our server woman had an off-putting way of coming over to check on us during our meal and left halfway through it but overall the experience was pretty nice.
I just visited this restaurant for the first time, and loved my experience. I was greeted my Mike, who was friendly, personable, funny, and even kind enough to recommend a few of his favorite places in town. Then, I got home and had the pizza and it was -hands down - the best pizza I've had in Charlotte. The bread is cooked so well. I had a pepperoni slice and a regular Sicilian slice; both were excellent.
Needless to say, I'm very, very grateful that my co-worker recommended this cozy restaurant; it's definitely in my top five.
The food is really great. I grew up in a predominantly Italian area of upstate NY with an Italian family, and honestly this is the only place in Charlotte that I've found that knows how to really make a calzone and proper sub. The staff is great and if the owner were to swear like a sailor in Italian he'd be a duplicate of my grandfather. Really great food and being there makes me feel a little bit like I'm home. I've never had a bad experience at this establishment.
My brother & sister-in-law who live in NC have been coming to this quaint family restaurant 30+years. The owners have recently retired but never fear. The chef & workers are still there along with the same great food. Nothing has changed. Hot bread, fresh salad, & the best Cannoli I have ever eaten. I even ordered some to go!
Came in tonight to order takeout. I ordered a 16” Pizza Bianca and garlic knots. Both of those are personal favorites. I had a Peroni while I waited and got to watch the beginning of the Yankees game in a friendly environment. Very cozy, family run restaurant with a warm, jovial atmosphere. Before I knew it, my order was ready and I was off. My roommate and I thoroughly enjoyed our food. This place has been great on every visit, I highly recommend.
We visited this place after reading an online review describing how good the food was. Very, very glad we chose to do so. The food was excellent. Hubby and daughter had the fresh pasta with shrimp (which they raved about), son had the pizza (huge - and he ate it all himself) and I had the calzone. I was completely impressed with just how fresh everything tasted - it's so good to be able to taste the freshness in every ingredient. The calzone crust was a little tough to cut, but I guess that's par for the course. Overall, the food was wonderful - fresh and delicious. Our experience with service was a very positive one. We were served by the son (?), who was very attentive, courteous and engaging. Dad visited the table several times to share a laugh or two with my husband. Really nice service. We will definitely return.
This is a Charlotte gem in the University area. The restaurant is family owned and they all are very kind. The food is great and the beer selection is amazing! All craft beer! Definitely worth checking out! Also, they have a very reasonable lunch menu if you need a quick bite to eat.
Had a pepperoni calzone...it was great! Perfect amount of ricotta, nice pepperoni, and the dough was good too. Perfect size for lunch. Oh, the marinara was really tasty too. Staff was very friendly as well. Will definitely be back!
First time here in more than 5 years. Service and food were both great as I remember. The only reason Amalfi's doesnt get a 5-star is because of the house salad. A salad should be more than a pile of lettuce and a single small slice of tomato. While the dressing choices are spectacular, the salad leaves something to be desired.
We ordered from Amalfi's since they accept PayPal. Which was very convenient!. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but after much deliberation. It was decided that we order a "Sicilian". The pizza was PERFECT ,all aspects of pizza perfection had been covered. The crust was scrumptious, sauce was tangy and properly portioned as to not make mush, cheese was ample and stringy. Last but not least the toppings grilled chicken and mushrooms so Fresh and ample. This pizza lasted for 3 meals, TOTALLY WORTH IT.
I'm from the Philadelphia area and it's impossible to find a decent cheesesteak down here. Amalfi has changed that for me! Their cheesesteak was delicious. They're home made bread is the first quality bread I've had since my move down here. I'm confident you really can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
And they're customer service is fantastic. The staff is engaging, friendly and speedy.
Best pizza in the university area! This pizza reminds me of authentic Italian food. I will definitely come back again! I have been to this place twice in one week. I wish that this family owned restaurant advertised at UNCC. I garuantee if they had a college student special that they would be packed every night. If you love pizza this place is a must!
This is our favorite place for pizza. It tastes as good as the pizza we grew up with in upstate NY. This is a real family restaurant, and Mike, Olympia and their kids are great hosts. The dishes are authentic and reasonably priced. Olympia has hundreds of recipes that she brought from Italy or created herself, so the specials change often. We almost always split an antipasto salad. Our son loves the tiramisu. We usually get pizza, unless they have spinach ravioli - my wife's favorite pasta dinner. They have expanded their beer offerings in the last year or two, another plus.
I went here with my friend the other day, and we both really loved it. The food was very tasty and authentic Italian, and the staff are very outgoing and friendly. Our server was cracking jokes with us and we were practically belly laughing the whole time. Also, you get a discount if you are a college student!
