Just left dinner there. We ordered sushi! Sweetheart roll, scallop lovers, dynamite roll and sashimi - they were super busy but were able to get us in within minutes. Already had our highchair waiting. There was a little bit of a wait for our food but our waitress kept our drinks flowing, and even paid for our dessert ( fried banana with coconut ice cream- it was to die for). Everyone was so kind and the food was SO DELICIOUS - we have a 7 month old and they were accommodating and polite. We will definitely be returning!!

Great food! A tad hard to locate. It’s beside Bravo tucked away in the corner! If you enjoy Thai food, you’ll love this place!

Some old the best Thai food that we have found since traveling in Thailand. Very authentic. If you like spicy ask for their Thai peppers in fish oil. This is something that is on every table in Thailand.

I love everything about this place. The sushi is fantastic. As are the apps and Pad Thai. Great and attentive servers too.

This isn't just the best Thai restaurant, or best Asian restaurant... this place is one of the BEST restaurants, period. I have never had a bad meal here. If you like it spicy, ask for double thai hot, on the Pad Kee Mow with beef- sensational! I could go on about other dishes and the apps, sushi, etcetera, it is all very good. The real gem here, however, is the staff, they are unbelievable, especially Femey, she makes you feel as if you've come home... and that you have been missed! I LOVE THAI 1ST!!!!

I came for the wonderful rice noodle soup, but will keep coming for the great service and kindness! My debit card wasn't working tonight. I think it was cancelled because they sent the new chip card. They didn't suggest to leave my order or to go find a bank. They just told me to take my dinner and pay next time :) THANK YOU!

My Fav!. Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in Charlotte. I've been there maybe 4 or 5 times, and every time it's delicious. The helpings are generous, so you get a decent bang for your buck. The presentation is always gorgeous. I am a lover of duck, and although it's pricey, I got it once or twice, and yum! I'm also just a lover of meat, and unlike some places that are stingy, Thai 1st is NOT. You order a dish with meat or nuts, and you'll get meat and nuts. Highly recommended, for a friendly outting or a lovely date.

Great waiter-delicious food. My family of four ate here and loved it. Pad Thai, basil rolls, refried rice, and Thai lovers soup were wonderful and fresh. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We will go back!

The food was good, however if you are looking for authentic Thai this is not your place. The noodles were good but I expect a lot more spice to my Thai food than I got at Thai 1st. Overall, I will be back as the flavor was good, but I will have to have them kick up the spice.

One of our favorite spots. First -- have to say, love all kinds of ethnic foods. I moved here in 2004 from So Cal where I was accustomed to having access to lots of kinds of food, and really good foods. So arriving in Charlotte to a fairly limited selection of good foods was tough. Fortunately, the past 7 years have been good in providing more options for authentic, locally owned fare.
Thai 1st is a treat that my hubby and I make sure to hit at least once a month. The food is exceptional, and the staff is just as terrific. In fact, we've learned that most of their staff have been with them for quite a few years, and the staff members say it's because the owners are great to work for. A good combination in my book. The service is always friendly, attentive and honest when we ask for recommendations or personal input on a particular dish.
Do yourself a favor and check out Thai 1st! yum (now I'm hungry...)

Great find in Blakeney. We had dinner at Thai 1st last evening and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and very good and the service was top notch. There is a half off wine deal on Mondays and Wednesdays, and last night we had a half price martini. I would recommend it for anyone who likes high quality Asian food.

Very Good Food. Our waitress was very nice and I thought the food was great! I have teenage boys and they like thai. I started with a flight of sake , not my favorite drink, but it was on special ($5.00). I had two pear sakes and 1 raspberry, The pear wasn't good (to me) but the raspberry was tasty. We started with the basil rolls, good but expensive for 2 rolls. One son go Pad Thai and one had Pad-See Um. Both had the chicken version and I thought they were wonderful.....so did they. I had the chicken satay and really liked the peanut sauce. The waitress said it was made in house. The boys split a fried ice cream for dessert. All in all we really enjoyed our dinner and will return soon.

Not Too Fancy But Intimate Place for a Date. My husband and I went there for a Valentine's date and had no problem making a reservation. We ordered the Tom Yum soup (good for 2) and it was really good. It's actually more like a sweet and spicy broth with mushrooms and a few pieces of shrimp. We also had the Beef Pad See Eu, the Crispy Duck in Curry sauce and the Shrimp with Green Curry. Everything was good except for the (Shrimp) Green Curry which I had mistaken for a soup since it was so watery. I also liked the Thai iced tea. They have big servings that we still had some leftovers to take home. The prices were mid-range and I got a coupon that I found online for 25% off the total bill so we really got a good deal. The staff were also nice and service was great.

Thai 1st was the first resturante that me and my family tried when we first moved to NC last august and it was the best!!! The waiter we had was so nice and was very attentive the food was amazing 2. And 1 more thing that surprises me is that the waitress that serves us the first time remembered us and now every time we go bak we talk to her. By far the best resturant in NC.

Confused. I have to say after hearing a news article about the two restaurants in question. I was interested to see the difference in the two restaurants and find out why such a petty problem could become such a big issue. One restaurant is called Blue Thai Basil and the other is called Blu Basil Cafe. OK... Since when does an Italian restaurant use blue basil in any of there entrees. Well having tried both restaurants i must say the cafe was nothing to write home about but this Thai restaurant is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant. Also if you do check it out do to the horrible revue of the duck i had to try it. OMG it is out of this world.

This is the best Thai food in Charlotte. If you like spicy fresh Thai food you have to check this place out. You won't be disappointed. I love the Pad Kaprow and the Pad Prik. The Tom Yum Soup is good too.

Fast and Fresh. The veggies are still crispy when the dishes come to the table. The coconut chicken soup is my favorite starter, but the stuffed shrimp is a close second! I haven't been able to pick a favorite entree yet but the ginger shrimp and tilapia is a major front runner. I've already told my friends about this little place, and we are already regulars!

Amazing authentic Thai food. Would definitely recommend. The service is amazing especially for the short staff they have due to Covid impacting it. The atmosphere makes me feel as if I’m back in Thailand. Beautiful!

Excellent service. Our server was so kind and generous in explaining the menu to us. She also suggested favorites which was toothsome. The coconut chicken soup is a must try and it can serve 4. The pad thai is good too. Fried rice was in right portion. We went on weekday and it was not crowded. Would recommend this for any thai lovers!

It was pretty good, I liked that they had the fresh veggies cut thinly on the side instead of just mixing them in. It added a fresh crunch to it & both dishes did not have a heavy oil feeling to them! They did have some extra furniture in the dining area which seemed to be a temporary situation that made it a bit unpleasant to look at. Otherwise the service was nice, and place pretty clean!

Today I was just around the area and got hungry. Saw a Thai place and without reading any reviews, decided to try it. I got the Pad Kee Mao and it is probably the BEST I’ve ever had. I’ve tried many Thai places around but this one nailed the flavor. Definitely try!

Good food and reasonable price, taste more authentic than other Thai restaurants in Charlotte that I've tried so far. Neau Nam Tok or spicy beef salad is my favorite. Not only Thai food that is good, also is Sushi. Great location, you can go shop at Marshall afterward. The only cons is that some dishes are too sweet for me, like Tom Yum soup. However, their dessert taste good and was not too sweet.

I’ve always had great food and excellent service here! This was my first Thai food love! I ate here a lot with a friend. We would sit at the bar and order sashimi and the avocado appetizer! Oh it was so delicious just look at my photos!!! I highly recommend visiting this place for lunch or dinner. It gets busy just like you would expect. It’s a small restaurant inside and they have seating outside as well!

Was a decent little place in Blakeny area. I think the food was good, but not exceptional. The service was good also with no issues. The portions for the pad thai was pretty good. The Red Curry Wasn't bad but the meat could use some improvement.

One of our favorite spots. My favorite is the green curry with shrimp and brown rice. But my kids love the steak fried rice and the chicken satay. Lots of good food for the money and the Blakeney playground is next door. Rather small but seldom crowded...

Very good Thai food as I've traveled to Thailand and eaten the local fare. The prices have gone up for lunch because of temporary inflation and supply chain issues.
