Went for lunch to try this place out. Always looking for new hidden gems in the area to try for lunch and this is a place I will definitely go back to. Lunch special was 3 chicken tacos for $5.99. Lots of chicken and to corn tacos were excellent. I usually like a little more stuff in my taco, but these pleasantly surprised me. It was the perfect portion for lunch, but I wanted to try their rice and beans and a piece of fried chicken so I report back on more than just tacos. Fried chicken was fantastic. Juicy and we'll seasoned. Not too much breading. Rice and beans was par for the course. They also have some sauces on the table and one is super spicy Tabasco like sauce and the other is a light green cream sauce, which was amazing on the chicken. Don't let the outside appearance of the strip mall scare you from trying this place out!
Anytime I’m craving some delicious chicken I come to this place. This is the best fried chicken and rotisserie chicken in Charlotte!!
I had roasted chicken and beans and rice and it was very good. The service was good as well.
This small time eatery is filled with big flavors and great prices. The server greeted us and spoke fluent English. He told us about the menu and his recommendations. Very good service compared to what we expected upon pulling up.
We couldn't finish the nachos. Hubby's chicken combo was more than he could eat in one sitting. I got two tacos and was pleased with the moist chunks of chicken that were seasoned very well. All in all for an app and 2 meals $34 wasn't too bad. We would go back with the kiddos!
I went here with family and it was pretty good. They even roasted an extra jalapeño for me. There tacos are well proportioned, but their salsa were lacking. I would still come again. It was our first experience here and we like it. Hopefully you will too. Parking is a bit tight so be careful, and it can be challenging getting out if the parking lot during rash our as well.
The grilled chicken is so good
This place truly exceeded my expectations!Their chicken soup is absolutely the best that I have ever had! I also got the grilled chicken tacos and they were cooked to perfection, and very tasty, I also loved the sauce they came with on the side. They include a side of rice and plenty of limes too!

First time here and fried chicken is great, fries are superb and fajitas were great too. Sweet tea has a lemon tartness to it but is delicious. Service was great and very friendly even tho don't speak much English we had no problem ordering. Will definitely go back for more

So after some bad experiences I’ve continued to go to Pollo Royal, because the chicken can be great! and it is convenient. Well they’ve made a lot of improvements. The customer service the last few times I’ve been there has been much more consistent and much better overall. The personnel is attentive and communicate effectively. The space looks a lot better and the food is still on point!!!

Wow so much potential but such bad service. When Pollo Royal does what their menu says, depending on the version of the menu for that day, it holds its own in a competitive field of rotisory chicken. However! the employees at Pollo Royal regularly dish out bad service such as; not sticking to the menu. Come in on one day and the price is X come in another day and the price is Y. Like others have said, good luck getting an attendant that speaks or reads English. Oh and your Google translated Spanish is beneath them. Rotisory chicken is all over the city. I’ll take my time tasting what else is out there.
The chicken was excellent. Tender and just the right amount of charring on the skin. The plantains were nice and crispy. Only two knocks: The coleslaw was bland and no ice tea. Overall, good meal at a good price.
This chicken is so moist and delicious!! My favorites are the sweet plaintains!! All food is cooked to order. You don’t have to wait too long to get the food but it’s worth your time if you don’t wanna cook and looking to have a great dinner experience!
THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN EVER! I started in the car and couldn't stop until it was all Gone! That sauce they give with the chicken adds a super smooth kick! Why haven't I heard of this place before? Will take all family and friends when they come to Charlotte to visit. My personal favorite from now on. ABSOLUTELY the best kept fried chicken secret in Charlotte.
I just moved to Charlotte (I am from Miami, FL). Was driving by this place and had to try it. This is some of the best hispanic food I have EVER had and definitely reminded me of home. They have a very inexpensive lunch menu. I had the grilled chicken (which I HIGHLY recommend), beans and rice, and platanos. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I love this place and will definitely be going back often!
