We stopped here for lunch last Thursday while traveling back from the mountains. We were amazed. Pizza and sandwiches were a big hit. I couldn't believe the great fresh mozzarella salad - wow!. What a nicely priced, satisfying lunch.
We took home some fresh pasta and marinara sauce and we are still talking about it.
one of the things I miss about living in Charlottesville is being able to shop often at Mona Lisa Pasta. To me, its worth the 3 hour trip up 29N from NC to stock up! Fresh and delicious you won't be disappointed with their pasta, sauces, breads, & so forth that they make and sell there. Their sandwiches, soups, and pizzas are mighty fine too! When I come up on business its often where I will grab a quick lunch.
I visited Mona Lisa Pasta for the first time today. I had their Fresh Mozzarella Salad and it was DELICIOUS! It wasn't just a bunch of greens with few toppings. There was an abundance of fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil, and their house dressing was great. Definitely revisiting!
Finally found somewhere I can get olive oil in bulk! It's great quality and I'm going to try their balsamic vinegar next. I also got their stuffed shells and oh my are they absolutely bomb❤️
Very easy place to get some wonderful catered food! Also, while you're there setting up your catering, don't forget to get a piece of some of the best pizza you'll ever have! The crust is to die for! :-)
I really enjoyed the market and sandwich shop. The person that served me was not the friendliest, but the rest of the staff was pleasant.
My sandwich was fresh and affordable. There are just a couple tables, so be prepared to take your food to go.
I love this little gem. The food is great. My favorite pizza in Cville. The frozen products are great takeaways - got the frozen pumpkin ravioli for dinner tonight. 👍🏼
Best pizza in town! Tell them how you want it! Excellent staff. Good but small selection. Maybe 2 or 3 oils. Stuffed grape.leaves good. Cannolis excellent. Fresh pasta, ravioli, etc made on site is great.
I 1st expected big italian joint but not. Look forward to frozen and other in house treats you'll enjoy. Wines? They fall down. Forget that. Try and see.
As a pizza expert I'll defend.my opening statement to the end.
I've been delivering here for a few months and it always smells good when I come in. Today I had some time to grab a bite so I did just that. I asked for a slice of pizza because I've had a hankering for NY style pizza since I've moved to Virginia and haven't had any luck. I can say that this pizza was awesome!!! Close enough to NY style without the greasiness. The price was also reasonable compared to other pizza joints in town who can't match this place at all. Keep up the good work. I'm coming back to try more dishes.
We ordered two days of lunch catering through Jim at Mona Lisa Pasta, and will definitely be using them in the future! 50+ people all loved the food. The first day was a variety of sandwiches and the second was lasagna, so it was easy to use the same place but feel like a different meal. The food was plentiful, and there were good vegetarian and gluten-free options for folks with allergies. Highly recommend
I picked up sandwiches here for a wine tour picnic and it was just perfect. We called in an order and they were ready with it on time and in boxes. We had two sandwiches with special orders, which they accommodated with no hesitation (and were really clear in the labeling as well). The staff was very nice and helpful, even providing us with paper plates and napkins. The food was tasty and everyone commented on how much they loved it. The prices are a steal and the sandwiches are large portions.
