I've been here once before and enjoyed my visit but until yesterday I didn't feel like I should write a review or not so here it is. One of the best Latin food restaurants out there, they have amazing salsa, great atmosphere, friendly wait staff, and above all else - amazing food. Most places I've been and got their fajita chicken tastes pretty bland or burnt but here it was very succulently flavored and definitely enjoyable. Most places don't put bell peppers in their taco salads either so that was a lovely surprise. I totally recommend El Meson, you'd be hard pressed finding better Latin/Mexican food for the price.
Steak fajitas were tender and flavorful, service was good. However today different story. Food and service good, loud mouth people behind me made a good meal not so good.
Best Mexican restaurant in Chattanooga and I dare say North Georgia. I live in Chickamauga and would rather drive here and enjoy delicious food than stay local! They have the best enchiladas I have ever tasted! I consider myself well traveled and they exceeded any other Mexican restaurant I have eaten at!! They are on my monthly rotation of restaurants. Keep up the good work guys and gals!
Great food, even better people. The wait staff is always courteous and kind-especially Steven. Favorite place to spend Friday night with the family.
These guys catered our community event last night and they exceeded themselves. The food was plentiful and delicious! Our party of 80 were more than happy...and they even provided a wonderful vegan option along with a tasty vegetarian option.
We look forward to a long relationship with El Meson...and will be using them again next month for another business meeting for 70. Thank you guys so much. We appreciate you to the moon and back!

A Mexican restaurant that has a lot of drinks and nice waiters! Looks very nice in the inside but sanitary wise with water - no - my aunt found a roach in her water! - but other than that my mom had her birthday dinner here and it wa as a good time!

We chose this place upon arrival to Chattanooga because we were craving margaritas and Mexican food and El Meson was close to our hotel.
Turns out, we found a place worthy of 5 stars that we’ll think of first next time we come to Chattanooga.
The listed closing time was 10pm, we arrived about 8:15pm. We were greeted by a huge genuine smile and guided to a high top table near the full bar. That was perfect for us as we were on the hunt for jalapeño margaritas— which we found on the menu and promptly ordered a pitcher of.
Chips and salsa were served up and we toasted the evening with our salt-rimmed glasses and perused the menu.
Dorados Tacos (beef) and a combination platter of flautas and a mini chimichanga, one with poblano rice, the other with rice & beans, definitely hit the spot. The jalapeño margaritas hit the spot and washed everything down. Actually, we couldn’t finish everything right then, so we took some home and I promise you, nothing went to waste. Almost as good on day 2. Almost.
Service was excellent, food authentic. Five stars.
*** During our meal, we observed a different server deal with a challenging guest at a nearby table. The way in which he handled the guest and the situation only solidified our new love of El Meson.
As we left at 9:45pm, we saw other customers being seated with a smile — another kudos as it was nearly closing time.

Very delicious and this is authentic Mexican food. I have no complaints. We had a twenty minute wait. The beer was huge as you will see in the picture. Plenty of television to watch. Our waiter , Jr was fantastic.
Very friendly staff! We had a fairly large party and they did a great job helping us get seated. The Sunday buffet had a lot to offer. The replenishing was a little slow, but they were extremely busy. Food was very good and great flavors.
Overall GREAT food and great employees. The food is always hot and they have an awesome drink selection. TV''s for those who love to watch sports and kid friendly as well. If you are looking for some GREAT Mexican food in the Hamilton Place Mall area I strongly suggest visiting El Meson. Sidenote, the have an award winning Margarita...I definitely suggest trying it.
A bit hit or miss. We have been here twice and the first time the food was great but they were out of all their special salsa. The next time we went the food was very bland. I may give it a third try to see how I really feel.
Very good American Mexican food at an affordable price. They have some hidden gems on the menu. I particularly enjoy the carne asada.
