You are greeted with open spaces of booths and tables when you first walk in. The decor I would describe as eclectic; the hanging light fixtures feature different shades, various wall art, and signs -- even wooden canoes hanging from the ceiling! Most of the south wall is lined with hundreds of mug-club owners' mugs, signifying a loyal base of regulars. Looking at the menu, they had an excellent selection of shareable dishes, and we opted for the Garlic Butter Pretzel Bites, served with honey mustard and an incredible bar cheese that they make. The Pretzel Bites were fantastic, but the bar cheese stole the show. We asked if they would make Mac-n-Cheese using that cheese sauce because we’d come back for that! I’m a big fan of a good bar burger, and I saw the “Breakfast Burger” listed as a special on the chalkboard. This piqued my curiosity, so I had to ask what this burger was. It turns out, it’s a smash burger made with 2 beef patties, 1 sausage patty, fried egg, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The burger comes with a side, so I chose their coleslaw. My wife had the Bacon Jam Burger, with two three-ounce patties, smashed and seared to complete yumminess, with cheese, crispy fried onions, and the most incredible house-made bacon jam that made the burger stand out! My wife was kind enough to give me a bite, and the bacon jam was so good! I recommended that the Breakfast Burger get some of it on there too! The food was terrific, and so was the service. Stop in for a pint and a burger if you find yourself in Chelsea! You will NOT be disappointed!

The whitefish chowder and Pastie were two menu items we were happy to try out. Owner Chris M. helped us pair this with a good German beer. Also had the Chelsea Alehouse beer on tap. Friendly environment and prices are very reasonable. Strongly recommend.

Good selection of beer on draft locally brewed in Michigan. I was disappointed that it was very slow on a Saturday. If you are looking for a nice place to have a drink this is it without being overwhelmed. This is a great location to check out.

Appetizer was dynamite ( pretzel bites) and we had shrimp tacos. Which were very good. Peanut butter pie was again dynamite. All around everything was great. They were short handed but you couldn't tell. Lots of hustle. Owner/bar tender/ waiter did an exceptional job. Will return!!

Food was great and so was the staff. We were hoping they had more than 2 of their own beers but was still a great visit!

This was a very wonderful surprise. They had a very good selection of beers and the Reuben that I had was truly the best Reuben I've ever had. Kudos to you Chelsea Alehouse Brewery for a job well done.
