I have been to this restaurant five times and all visits have been wonderful! The mussels with Thai curry excellent. The Pate a treat. Service is top notch for the area. Owners try to please and go out of their way for special requests, which is hard to find these days. I recommend the pot roast and the Calamari app. They are big on gluten free and have awesome pizzas. A great find in the Adirondacks with a view and comfortable dining area. They get busy so if you want a room near the water you better make a reservation. Seeing the geese and ducks, turtles and fish is cool.

The restaurant with the giant chicken in the parking lot is the Silver Star. My family got together from all over the United States to visit my grandparents in Pottersville. We had our big group meal here in the room that views the pond outside. It feels very much like the Adirondacks here with the A frame building made of wood with a beautiful view outside the large windows. Definitely a great place for a group. Bridget and Aaron knew we were coming and because my sister and I are vegetarian they made us a special vegan meal. I'm not sure if you called ahead if they would always accommodate or if that is only for friends and family, but it was great. The rest of my family are meat eating Americans so they had their pick of the menu. My mom got a plate of fried clams and everyone at the table loved it and gobbled it down so fast that my mom had to order something else for her dinner. We also got a fruit and cheese platter as an appetizer and it was delicious. My favorite appetizer was the warm loafs of bread with butter. Not much is better than good bread. The view outside of the windows is breathtaking especially at sunset. The restaurant is big enough for large groups and can also be intimate for couples. I recommend coming here for date nights, good food, beautiful views, or family dinner. It is a lot more upscale than most of the other restaurants in the area (like the delis, bars, and general stores), but it is still casual enough to wear your normal clothes.

This is a wonderful, cozy place with attentive and friendly staff. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. It came out nice and hot, with superb presentation. I actually ordered a dish that was not even on the menu, thanks to a suggestion by our server. We were very impressed with this restaurant, and will definitely be back!

Food made to order..had the Thai Chili wings and really tasty pizza with fresh basil on top.. Service is better than expected in most small town places. Attentive and friendly staff. Been here a few times , always similar -***** good all around!!

I give them 4 stars because the food was good but even more than that, being out of town-ers, we didn't know that reservations were preferred. On a busy Friday night, they found room for us and we were able to eat dinner. Menu is a bit pricey so we stuck with a basic cheeseburger and fries. I had a IPA beer and my wife had iced tea with our meals. The burgers were very good and the fries were homemade--crispy on the outside with the skins on. The bill came to under $30 which was more than reasonable. Bar selection is limited to just wine and beer but that was ok. We go to Chestertown every year for the Warrensburg garage sales and probably will return next year for a meal.

Always a good meal here. Home cooking flavor indeed. Friendly service. Never seems too busy or loud. The sun room by the pond is our favorite.
