So we were in search of a really great place for steak. We were in town for my uncle’s funeral. Anyway my Aunt wanted steak and didn’t go downtown much so we wanted to cheer her up. We came in a party of 6 without reservations and they took us in without hesitation. Let me just say they atmosphere and quality of service if all top notch. The food from appetizers to entrees were sublime. Our server was Hector and he was very polite, attentive and well versed on the menu offerings. He did an amazing job at making us feel special. There is so many little touches here we loved; including the stamped ice. The icing on the cake was the surprising sweet treats at the end of the delicious meal beignets and cookies with chocolate and vanilla en glaze. For our first time here we will all most definitely be back. I recommend you stop by and tell Hector hello for us. What a great find. It’s in line with Morton’s, Ruth Chris and any top steak houses you can think of. From the reception to service we give them a 10 out of 10. Even the management staff stopped by to say hello. Clearly they take pride in good service and it shows.
I love the decor of this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. They even called you the next day and asked you how qas your dining experience with them. I give two thumbs up.

We read a couple of reviews and they highly recommended Hector. As soon as I arrived at the restaurant, I walked past a server and I said Hector and he turned around. And it was a match made in heaven!! It was a culinary event that we will never forget!! Worth every several hundredths!!!
Great food, excellent service, and great location. We were here for the first time on vacation. Ordered the wet age and dry age 22oz ripeye. Both were delicious. They have an awesome selection of side items. Our server said they're 2 person share portion but they're were absolutely bigger than that. Didn't finish any of the sides. Highly recommended.
This place is soooo awesome. The ambiance is on point with the service and food. The food, oh my god my wife and I absolutely loved the food. I took my wife here for our 14 year anniversary and all I can say is, we made one of the best decisions of our life. From the moment we walked in we were treated so great and seated promptly. The drinks were great, but the person who made our night even more special was our waiter Hector. This guy is amazing. His attention to detail, his bubbly attitude, and great smile made our night. His suggestions were spot on and he was just on top of his game. Also have to mention one the managers, Jennifer Seitaj, she was also great and very polite. This is now our favorite steakhouse in the city and cant wait to return. Thank you and your wonderful staff for a very special evening. ❤️ And tell Hector and Jennifer we said we'll see them again soon lol
What an amazing experience! Our family loved everything we had and we were treated so well! Our kids, 10 and 7, love steak and absolutely were blown away! We were seated next to the kitchen and the kids loved watching them work. I would give 10 stars if I could. My kids say 1000 stars would be sufficient. 😃
My mom was in town visiting for the weekend, and we were craving a good steakhouse. Neither of us had been to Steak 48 and decided to try it out. We weren't able to make a reservation but we walked in and sat at the bar. Our bartender Martín promptly greeted us and was phenomenal overall. He was very attentive and coursed our meal perfectly.
We had the lobster cocktail for appetizer, split the wedge salad (the dressing was a little different but was a nice change up from the typical dressing), I had the 16oz New York strip with blue cheese (medium rare, cooked perfectly), Mom had the filet with the Oscar topping (medium, also cooked perfectly), split the au gratin potatoes, and the beignets for dessert. We each had 2 martinis.
All of that delicious food and impeccable service for about $500. We were very impressed by the price expecting it to be a little more. We will definitely be back.
Left another steakhouse w/ poor service and happened upon this unique experience. I have been to some GREAT Steakhouses so it is not said lightly when I say, this was the best steakhouse experience of my 56 years. Italo was our waiter and he set the tone with service I have only heard about in stories about the Ritz Carlton. Then the food came, and I can NOT put in words how amazing the wine, steak, the mash, the cheese, everything was done so spot on. I wish I had taken better pix of the food, I won't post because I didn't do it justice. Everything about this experience was amazing and thank you Steak 48 for restoring my faith in a great Chicago Steakhouse!
We always love dining at Steak 48. Steaks are always wonderful and perfectly prepared. We usually sit at the bar and service is exceptional. Plus, they make a mean cocktail!
