I went to dinnner this last Saterday night at the Cherry Circle Room and had the best dining experience of my life. First of all, the service was impeccable! From start to finish flawless execution. From the gentleman who recommended the delicious red wine, to our server who helped guide us through the outstanding menu. Which brings me to the food- exceptional! It's a good sign that even the bread was memorable, but each appetizer and entree following was a tastebud dream. Some of my favorites were the cauliflower, the steak tar tar, the tender lamb I dipped in the buttery exquisite mashed potatoes, and who could forget those deserts! I will recommend the Cherry Circle Room to people who not only want a delicious meal, but who want a memorable dining experience. Thank you to the team behind my new favorite restaurant!
Love the service here! While the environment and decor is absolutely upscale, it is not pretentious. The drinks are of great quality and worth the price. The portions of food are small but filling as they are rich in flavor. I have taken my fiancé and best friend to this place and they enjoy it. My fiancé loves the music and always tries to SHAZAM or ask the waitress for the name of the artist. Something for two people be looking to spend $80-$140. The drawing room is next store. I'd recommend that space if you just want drinks and to kick back.
Can't say enough good things about this place. Ate here twice and loved it completely. The menu, food, drinks, room, service, vibe and value. All top drawer. Can't wait to return.
An anazingvokace tonsoendxa special occasion. Celebrated our 27th anniversary there last night and it did not disappoint. The food and service was exquisite with a phenomenal wine list and the Ambiance is that of an old world establishment with a new world Flair.
My partner and I went there today for restaurant week and it was absolutely wonderful! Our server Thomas was genial and really put us at ease and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The other servers ensured we always had a full water glass and were never hard to flag down if we ended up needing something. The food was excellent (the fish and chips especially) as was the coffee, but it was the impeccable service that really made me want to come back. Thanks for the lovely meal!
We went for Christmas dinner and it was one of the most relaxing, beautiful, and delicious holiday dinners I've ever had. The service is also absolutely impeccable, everyone is treated like VIP. Cody Hudson & team did an amazing job on the design as well mixing old world traditional with sophisticated marbling and slightly cheeky illustration with a logo that looks like its a secret society. TIPS: We still can't get over the mussels in lobster broth. OMG! It was my Mom's first time trying mussels and we were in absolute heaven. The creamed kale, King Salmon and mashed potatoes were also to-die-for! Especially the cocktails. Oh the cocktails. This is a must here. Might vote this to be one of the best cocktail spots in Chicago. It was also a legit speakeasy during the prohibition and it feels very experiential behind the game room. The manager and waiter were so amazing and treated us so well, which made our Christmas dinner even more special. We fell in love & we will be back! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Great restaurant. We went for my birthday. The food was amazing and superb service! I highly recommend this place!
Wow. Just incredible. From the wine to the mussels to the steak and then the Dark Chocolate Creme brûlée. This place is impressive & the service was outstanding!

It was probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food and cocktails were both delicious and beautifully presented. The service was phenomenal.
Wonderful place, delicious food ,great wine selection well trained staff and fantastic interior
The fact that is difficult to find adds a mistery to the whole experience
Love it :)
Great food, excellent service. The decor is fabulous. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the dinner and drinks menu and recommended a cocktail that I enjoyed very much. This is a restaurant we will definitely visit again.
For brunch, go directly to side pork belly. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Then get the surf and turf salmon and pork belly benedict. Because they do pork belly right.
The restaurant is hard to find if you don't know where to go but we are glad we went. The food was excellent. The seafood bisque soup was so light and delicious. The 2 entrees we had were really good too. I had the veal pasta and my husband had the chicken dish. Nice portions. The dessert was amazing.
Loved everything about the cherry circle room! The service was fantastic and the food was amazing! Would definitely recommended this to others.
My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner prior to seeing Hamilton which is just a few blocks away. The beef tartare was a fabulous way to start of the meal and very thing else we had was great. We will be back for the food and the service. Tom treats us great.
All hash browns are not created equally. The Cherry Circle Room in Chicago is part of the historic Chicago Athletic Association. The breakfasts, especially the hash browns, a heavenly experience reminiscent of giant tater tots. The restaurant's reinvention beautifully blends its iconic history with modern design says the James Beard Awards in 2016. This spot won Outstanding Restaurant Design. Highly recommended breakfast.

The place is located in a very nice building. The entrance is a bit discreet and hard to find. However, once you enter, the space is really nice and is a perfect date spot. The bartender was professional, polite and the cocktail was amazing. The service was very pleasant, the food came out fast and fast amazing. Order an appetizer and it was pretty yet delicious. Overall, highly recommend
Why did we wait so long to go here!? So happy my husband suggested it!!
The whole room is beautiful; dark wood and cozy vide. There is a gorgeous bar along one side of the restaurant.
It’s sort of hidden behind the game room area of the Athletic Club; almost like a secret, exclusive dining experience which adds to the ambiance.
The food is phenomenal. I had the fried chicken and side of creamy macaroni and cheese. Both outstanding. The mac & cheese is truly the best I’ve had in Chicago!
My husband had the Whole Fried Sea Bass and a side of fried Brussels Sprouts that he thoroughly enjoyed.
Out of towners who made this our super swanky meal of our trip. We came in with high expectations because of ratings and awards. My wife got the sea bass and me the filet mignon medium rare. I cook alot my own steak so I am a really tough judge. Anything above a 9 is great score from me. The filet got a 9.4. Cooked just right and not stringy/chewy. A 9.4 mostly because it was $70. I am not use to those prices back home! They surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake for me even though I didn't want anything showy.
Waiter was really good adjusting to our needs and answering questions. I told him I drink alcohol fast and to bring drinks out quicker then most ppl allow. Particularly, it was a holiday weekend and I wanted to feel good. He did not disappoint. I had 3 beers and a double of whiskey with the steak.
We spent $300 for two ppl includes tip.
Very unique atmosphere with good food and service.
When you walk into this restaurant you feel that you are walking into a movie. Very cool and intimate restaurant.
Cocktails are some of the best that I have had so far. The truffle pasta that we ordered was amazing but fish was just okay.
Service was amazing!
Highly recommend it if you’re in Chicago.
A hidden gem in the middle of the most touristy part of the city! Hidden within the Chicago Athletic Association, The Cherry Circle Room has an updated old-world elegance to it, with deep, cushy, leather booths and a beautifully adorned bar with a mix of interspersed oddities to keep the eye busy while enjoying the food and catching up with company. The brunch fare was excellent, and their hash browns, while probably not what you're expecting, were the perfect addition. The service was also superb. Will absolutely be back.
Wow, this restaurant was phenomenal. Truly enjoyed the brunch, everything was made with such care and precision. Also a really beautiful environment.
Pasta was great, sea bass fry and cocktails were so so. Spent 160 on two cocktails (18 each), one pasta entree and one whole sea bass fry with fried rice entree. They did not give us any tables because we had no reservation but there were many empty tables. We sat at the bar and ate our food. It's a bummer. Not worth spending this much. You can go just for the ambiance but definitely need to reserve first. If you are going for pictures, not your place.
Just was there last night celebrating our anniversary. Our waiter was the sweetest, the food was amazing (healthy Midwestern portions lol!!) And the drinks were phenomenal. Loved the cozy quiet atmosphere. We had an amazing time.
An interesting if overpriced restaurants in the Chicago Athletic Club.
Cocktails are high quality and also high prices. Their ribeye steak is $109, tastes good and it’s too expensive.
The place looks great. Last time I was there there I was a bit disappointed by the whole thing. The first time, about a year ago I had a great time… but maybe it is me
Beautiful historic bar, with fabulous service and great cocktail and wine selection. Loved the truffle pasta and burrata appetizer!
Went here on a recommendation from a server at another restaurant. We were looking for something romantic and upscale and this was the perfect spot. The truffle pasta was amazing! Will definitely be back next time in town!
We stopped into Cherry Circle Room during our trip to Chicago and during their restaurant week. We were immediately impressed with the ambiance and friendly staff. Our waiter was fine but the bus staff really impressed us, never letting our water glasses get less than half full, removing our plates promptly when we finished and even cleaning the table in between courses. The food was great as well as the drinks. A must stop when visiting Chicago.
The food and service are excellent. The food is unique, and flavorful, if a bit heavy. Make sure you're hungry. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. Great drinks, and a large drink menu.
But it's honestly way too dark, and it has bar vibes at all times of day. Even breakfast has the lights turned down low and upbeat music playing loudly.
I understand they're playing up the 1920s vibe, but they could honestly make it 20% brighter and it would still work just as well. Or at least consider brightening things up more and turning down the volume for breakfast to help folks wake up.
Where do I begin? Knowledgeable waitress? Romantic setting? hidden gems? Amazing wine options? Great food? I will just say yes to it all. The burger was ALMOST better than the ones I make at home but I must say that I've never said that about any burger I've eaten. And I've had Gordon Ramsay's burger. This burger was amazing. My better half loved the pasta. It was very diffrient for my taste but I did enjoy it. The acidity in a pasta was a new one for me but worth the try. I'm actually literally going back right now. The drinks beside the wine were desirable as well. Great place for a date or even proposal.
Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! After being absent for a few years and only having cocktails my first time, it was nice to actually dine in this speakeasy-type-of-vibe joint. Sat at the Bar Top which was busy on a Friday night a little before 6pm. It was the beginning of Chicago Restaurant Week but did not opt for that menu. Black Truffle Croquettes at $8/piece are to die for! Rich and decadent. Crock of French Onion Soup has got to be in my Top 3 list of Best French Onion Soups! Plenty of cheese and you definitely have to fish for the Crostini. The cheese in the Half Pound Dry Aged Cheeseburger was not overwhelming. Would be interesting to see a double option. Not pictured here is the Soother Cocktail which was perfect and tasted like an orange gummy candy slice. Can't wait to come back to try other Cocktails, Food, and Dessert items!
I was apart of a party of 5 and we all ordered different starters & entrees so I think we sampled a large number of items on the menu. I ordered the Chicago restaurant week dinner pros-fixe menu’s oyster casino & heritage pork chop. Presentation was wonderful. Service was good. Honestly, taste was just okay for me. I won’t be running back for the food but the cozy and intimate atmosphere was wonderful. And the drinks were top notch. Kudos to the bartender. I had the Waldorf gloom lifter and let me tell you! That name was spot on. There’s no way you don’t feel instant happiness after one sip. I’m in love. I’ll be back for the bar… and I guess I’d order the Brussels. T
