Fantastic food and service. The fried chicken with cornbread and cherry butter was absolutely ridiculous. I ordered the spaghetti dish as well, which is like ramen without the broth, and it which just packed all the intense ramen flavor with no dilution from the broth. But it wasn't over powering. Very interesting and I really liked it. The place is quite kid friendly as well. Overall excellent experience from start to finish. It's a good option for people in Roscoe village as well, easy with drive plenty of parking.

Wow! Everything about Gather was excellent! The food was perfection and the service was great. We sat “kitchen side” and we felt that was the best place to sit. Watching the chefs work so well together and plating all of the delicious looking food, was such a treat to see! We will definitely be back!

Amazing service and excellent farm fresh food. The Sunday night family style dinner is a great value and allows you to taste many different things. We were lucky enough to get a seat on the patio, beautiful area. The inside seating area seemed very loud, which would be the only downside of Gather!

Gather was spectacular! Cocktails were on point, atmosphere was fantastic and laid back and the food was stellar. Crispy Brussels sprouts topped with bonito flakes are a must as is the burrata and farro appetizer!

Great quality food. We waited too long but they apologized and comped our table of 6 some huge raspberry glazed donuts that were delicious. The food was really worth the extra wait though-best brunch in recent memory.

Great service, amazing and innovative menu, and lovely ambiance. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower were the best I’ve had. The sirloin entree was cooked perfectly and was so delicious. I highly recommend!

We had the most fun and best dinner last night! Thanks Emily, for the seats at the Chef's counter, all so affable and charming. I awakened thinking about the steak tartar and those sea scallops!

Great, attentive service! We gave it a try after being unable to get in to Warbler next door. The menu features sharing plates and main courses. The chicken pasta is an inviting mix of Mushroom purée, mild Chiles and braised chicken thigh. The chocolate mouse dessert was to die for !

The service, wine, food & the back patio were all spectacular! The smashed cucumber salad and the scallops were astounding. Normally we don't order dessert but it was our mother's birthday so we chose the strawberry rhubarb cobbler. All I'll say is that if you go there & don't order it you're missing out on one hell of an remarkable dessert!

What a unique and beautiful meal. We started with the recommended brussel sprouts, fried mushrooms and scallop risotto for appetizers for 5 people. The beauty of the appetizers they don't fill you up before your entrée comes. I had the Rainbow Trout, friends had the scallops, pasta, steak. Every bite was heavenly and perfectly seasoned. Wonderful staff and tasteful understated décor.

The heirloom tomatoes are amazing as is the whipped ricotta. Skip the peaches. The service is a bit lackluster- lacks the tone the space encompases and a bit absent.

Delicious meal! Made a reservation here and we’re seated on time in the back area. Had the butternut squash soup, brussel sprouts, burrata, and half chicken. The server was helpful and responsive. He made a great recommendation for a Pinot noir to go with our choices. Honestly a tasty spot that makes fresh, quality food. Will go back for sure!!!

Gather is CONSISTENTLY fantastic. I’ve been 5+ times over the last year or two and have never had a bad experience. Tonight, they were able to fit us in for a celebration dinner - they’re so accommodating and the menu options change seasonally, but every option has been consistently delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic, warm, and inviting. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. They’ve been so accommodating of allergies and dietary restrictions. Will always recommend Gather.

I continue to love Gather after all these years. It’s a rare gem: lovely and detailed service, a beautiful space, delicious food items, and all at a fairly reasonable price all things considered. It truly hits above its weight. Great for any occasion, whether special or a typical night out. That’s part of what makes it special and so lovely. Both the whipped ricotta dish and the crispy cauliflower are must-order items! The whipped ricotta is creamy and lightly sweet with the honey and balsamic mixed in. Spread over the toasted baguette you get creamy and crunchy. Heaven. The crispy cauliflower is another signature dish. I don’t think I can even describe what makes it so amazing. The flavors are just splendid and varied. A little sweetness, tartness, savory, asian-flavors. You can’t go wrong with any menu items. I can also vouch for the crispy brussels sprouts, uovo raviolo, and spaghetti.

I ate here for my birthday and it was one of the best meals in Chicago I've had all year. We had the brussel sprouts, steak tartare (both pictured below), and uovo en raviolo, and it'd be hard for me not to order them all again when I go back. The entire staff was really welcoming and our waitress was so kind and knowledgable. I appreciated that she gave us a realistic estimate of how much food we'd need and didn't try to oversell. Also great modern ambiance.

I love the 'American New' style of restaurant and this was an excellent example. The food was inventive and delicious, intriguing but not too pretentious. Went with two friends and we shared three apps and three entres... and three desserts, because everything was just that good. Portions were ample but not excessive, so we didn't even regret it 🤣. Two drinks each on top of that and we hit about $100 per person including tip. They are well setup for sharing, with a separate plate for each person as the default. I really like that touch. The cocktail menu is brief but all quality. They have an impressive variety of wines by the glass. It wasn't too loud for conversation and the service was excellent. Our server was charming and helpful, but again, unpretentious. He was aided by enough staff to keep our table clear and our waters full.

Gather was absolutely delicious. Our group decided to order dishes for the table and eat family style so we were able to try many dishes- all of which were perfect. Flavors melting together like a rainbow of joy in my mouth. The fried chicken was out of this world.

Gather was amazing! We went mid-week for dinner and everything was delicious. Service was attentive but not overwhelming, and it was easy to talk. For 2, we had 3 shares (burrata, tartare, and pork belly), an entree each (halibut and steak frites), and 2 desserts to share (cheesecake and chocolate cremeaux. Everything we had was delicious, and we would definitely return. :)

This is actually where my girlfriend and I had our 3 year anniversary dinner. We chose this restaurant because the lower case g let us know it was a cool hip place that does not abide by societal norms. I feel like I’m starting to say this at more places, and I don’t know if there has been a bread renaissance, if high end bread is hot right now or I’ve been in the dark eating the grimiest of wonder bread for the last couple of years. But, I have to say this bread with whipped ricotta and honey brought us genuine glee. Then we ended up getting healthy stuff after for balance but there wasn’t a sacrifice on the taste. I got salmon, we shared brussel sprouts, delicata squash salad and crispy Cauliflower. For dessert we got adventurous and ingested some lavender panna cotta with raspberry and lime filling…it’s the fish eye looking things just in case you’re uncultured.

We had dinner with friends and our experience was delightful. Super cute spot with great service. Food was delicious, with layers of flavors and texture. We got the Brussels sprouts, chicken, beef, and lamb meatballs. All super delicious. Good selection of wines and the cocktails were also great.

My partner and I shared the whipped ricotta, uovo en raviolo, pan roasted halibut, and grilled pork chop. We ended up only eating a bite of the raviolo but still both left full. - Whipped Ricotta: absolutely delicious start for our dinner. Creamy homemade ricotta, clover honey with a hint of orange, and balsamic were layered in a cute mason jar. The spread came with thin freshly toasted bread slices that had just the right amount of crisp. - Uovo En Raviolo: very rich dish. Unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked, resulting in an extremely unpleasant texture. - Pan Roasted Halibut: the halibut itself was dry. The flavor combination of this dish was great though. A little bit of everything makes a perfect bite here. The fish paired beautifully with the creamy leek and miso soubise, refreshingly tart pearl onion agrodolce, and crispy sunchoke chips. - Grilled Pork Chop: similarly, the only downside to this dish was the toughness/dryness of the majority of the meat pieces. Apart from that, the flavors were very well-balanced: the bright flavors of the citrusy, herby salmoriglio; the crunch of the pistachio; and the smokiness of the cauliflower and harrisa. Service was great and paced our courses pretty well. Be warned that you will be charged for the extra bread. We were asked if we wanted more bread to finish up the ricotta and thought it was complimentary. We definitely could have asked for clarifications but free complimentary bread is a pretty common standard for these establishments and the staff should have been upfront about the extra charge. Even though it was an insignificant charge, it still felt dishonest to us and made the visit less enjoyable.

Beautiful setting/color palette on the decor, wait staff was helpful without being obtrusive, and the menu was perfection. Everything sounded good, so it was more about narrowing down what to select instead of being like well I guess I'll get this because it sounds alright. The flavor profiles were unique and everything tasted fantastic - seriously, the flavors conjured up here were very distinct to this establishment. I'd wholeheartedly recommend dining here.

Dining at Gather was a fantastic experience and felt right at home. From expertly designed and crafted cocktails to family style dining, Gather should be the next spot to check out. If you are celebrating a special occasion or just seeking locally sourced ingredients you should make a reservation here. Although counter service is offered on a first come first serve basis, I'd highly recommend making a reservation. Everything is prepared in the open kitchen. The staff both friendly and knowledgeable can cater to any dietary restrictions. Looking for a well prepared meal that doesn't break the bank? This place should be your next stop!

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful. I cannot wait to come back. It's my favorite resturant in Chicago now. This was my first time and we sat outside on the adorable patio and ordered 80% of the menu. The prices are unreal and the quality of food is Michelin rated. If you like food that's thoughtfully presented and flavors mastered, this place is for you! Next time I go back I'm sitting at the chefs table!

We had previously walked by this place and had it on our list for a while. We walked in on a busy Friday evening and got seated right away. The service was really good and fast. Our meal was amazing! We got pretty much everything from the gather and share section. Whipped ricotta was very fluffy and tasty with honey and balsamic glaze. They give you a whole thing of baguette as a side. Great bread. Brussel sprouts were one of my favorites. They were roasted to a perfect crisp, topped with parmesan, bonito flakes and candied pistachio, it was the perfect savory and sweet combination. Crispy cauliflower is definitely a must get! Our absolute fav. They were crispy, crunchy, sweet and spicy. Pork belly was braised tender with the sweet and sour refreshing sauce. The gnocchi is also very tasty. We finished our dinner with chicken liver mousse with no room for dessert sadly. Will 100% come back again to try other things on the menu.

Intimate dining experience with tasty dishes. I forget our server's name, but I believe both he and the food runner were Latino/Hispanic, mature gentlemen. Their professional and warm demeanor helped elevate the experience. Both my dinner partners are regulars and say it's a favorite spot. It didn't disappoint.

We’ve been circling around this establishment for a while now forgetting reservations and ditching wait list for numerous restaurants in the area. As previously we walked in without the reservation only this time we got two seats at the bar right away. Warm setting welcomed us in and offered drinks to start. The Count in one hand and menu in the other led us to share a most satisfying steak tartare. We followed it with a Pork Belly nested in eggplant purée, almond dukkah balanced with lemon vinaigrette. Tad, bit, smudge and bite cantata warmed us whole. I couldn’t skip a soup if my life depended on it so Pumpkin red curry with oyster mushrooms and cilantro found it’s way to the table. Delightfully presented and split into two vessels to share was quite satisfying. Plenty for both of us. We got to entrees on a high note so we weren’t caught off guard by delicious hand rolled spaghetti, tomatoes and Castelvetrano olives dressed in manchego cream sauce. On the opposite side we had ourselves carnitas style Braised Pork Shoulder sitting on top of sweet potato purée, cilantro and chickpeas that brought us down to our knees. We needed what was left of our bubbly and water to bring us back. Bellyful and no room for desert we took our leave happy vowing to return for more. Thank you for wonderful evening. We’re definitely coming back.
