While staying at Sofitel, we enjoyed a late night cheese platter, tea and dessert, and the following morning, we had breakfast with our niece and nephew. I love the staff here. They are friendly and professional. The food looks like artwork. Everything is plated so lovely, and the taste is even better! We have dined here in the past and enjoyed the Chef's Tasting. The chef visited our table and explained the dishes. It was such a treat. I cannot recommend Cafe des Architectes enough!

I seldom do Chicago without coming here at least once. That's at least 70 visits in over ten years. From their French pressed coffee to the bread service, it is tip top always.

Such incredible, clean, and well thought out cuisine! One of my favorites in Chicago and Romi is one of the best servers in the city too! I request him every time now. Can't wait for my next meal at CDA! Thanks for a great evening.

Laura and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at CDA which is sort of tucked away in the Hotel Sofitel, just a block away from our old stomping grounds of Loyola's Water Tower campus. French enough without being overbearing. The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious, and we left being very full!

Wow, what an phenomenal meal. Came by to try to the restaurant week menu with the three-course wine pairing. The scallops were perfectly cooked and paired well with the horseradish sauce. The lentils were a bit bland, but added a good balance. The duck breast was incredibly tender, and the pistachio bits and warm pear slices were a great addition. The sticky date pudding was not at all what I expected but so delectable. I was blown away with the first bite! Although the prices seem a bit high outside of RW, I was thoroughly impressed and would definitely consider CDA for a special night out.

This is a great restaurant with fantastic food. Try the baby octopus for dinner. A wonderful combination of flavors. Breakfast is awesome wonderful. The breakfast bowl is a very satisfying dish. Service was a bit spotty and slow on the several occasions I was there but still friendly.

My five star rating is for breakfast only. This restaurant does something better than any other place in the city. You’ll have to wade through my review to find out what. Trust me. It’s worth the wait. Breakfast is the only meal I have eaten there. It’s not cheap. With a tip, it’s always $26-$28 for me. It’s my splurge for the week. I go there every week. It’s amazingly consistent. I’ve yet to have anything that wasn’t terrific. I highly recommend the yogurt, granola, compote bowl. The pancakes are out of this world. Well of course it comes with real maple syrup and French butter. I should mention the coffee. It’s a French press and it’s impressive for. $5.00. I’m a bacon and eggs guy. The bacon is always freshly cooked, not dragged off the north-forty of the grill for a quick heating job. The French cooks ( and it is a French kitchen) cooks eggs perfectly. A secret from me to you, let your waiter know you’d like to skip the potatoes and instead have a taste of fruit. This isn’t your ordinary fruit. It’s blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc. picked at perfection. Best berries in the city. One of the things I love about this place is food temperature is right on the money. I’m saving the best for last. Shortly after coffee is poured your waiter will come by with a long tray of croissants, chocolate brioche and bread. There is no better bread or pastry. I’ve never, ever, ever had a better croissant in my life. Not even in Paris.

The Crispy Haloumi was incredibly good. It is a friend cheese with sheep's milk (I looked it up) and the flavor is mild, nutty, and well paired with the sweet sauce.

Found CDA tucked away in the Sofitel amongst the many restaurants off Rush. Very glad to see the rebranded/reconfigured CDA take shape. Liked the "French Bistro" small bites, shared plates portions. The charcuterie selections and cheese are to die for, Jamon Serrano took our lead as well as Bresoala and Sobrasada. We made our own platter and it came served with toast points, jams and honey glazed nuts. we added Manchego over the Camembert. it was way too hot for a spreadable cheese. We decided to make shared plates our meals and can't get enough of the Crispy Haloumi, you'll fight over the crunchy bits. The Baby Octopus was sous vide and grilled to perfection... all this made a geeat meal for two. We can't wait to come back and make it to table portions and dessert.

Fantastic brunch option. Quaint and peaceful environment even on a Sunday. The pastries were great and the breakfast options were really good. We didn't realize they were closing and stayed an hour past their normal hours. The staff never requested for us to leave and they were extremely professional.

What a wonderful meal we had here! I loved the combination of Michelin-star level cuisine with friendly, fun service. Romi, the singing waiter provided theatrically French attentiveness without being stiff, and Chef David visited our table multiple times to make sure we enjoyed everything. Perhaps all this attention was due to our ordering the menu degustation, as none of the other diners seemed to be having it. I can’t imagine why, as it is a real deal. David checked with us beforehand to make sure it was okay for him to serve different members of our party different dishes in each course, and we enthusiastically agreed, as it allowed us to sample twice as many dishes. And dishes galore there were, each artfully arranged, and accompanied by thoughtful wine pairings. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, but suffice it to say that each was just as delicious as it looks. The pastry chef continued the trend with four spectacular desserts, some of which she concocted on the spot. We will be back soon, as the creativity here seems endless.

Went here for restaurant week. They had some cool options but I was a bit underwhelmed and their bread was hard as a rock. I think their desserts are what they are known for and those were great and creative. Again - This was for restaurant week and not a regular visit so their options and staffing may look different.

The new restaurant CDA at Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile is amazing! I am so glad I was lucky enough to have tried lunch at this Mediterranean inspired eatery.CDA is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The variety was interesting and diverse. Since it is set up as mostly small plates, we had the opportunity to try/share many options. Warm bread in various choices was delivered table side. Then we enjoyed Tzatziki, Asparagus Salad, Croquetas, Crab Avocado Toast and the Shrimp Protein Bowl. Everything was expertly prepared and served very attractively. I absolutely loved every bite!

Coffee here is awesome. Was chatting with the owner (who is super nice btw) and I asked him about the coffee. He said he gets his beans from the only toaster he knows in the area who uses wood for the roasting rather than gas! Wow! Will definitely be back next time I'm in IL . Oh - and the lox and cream cheese bagels are great too.

My girlfriend at the time took me here for my birthday and I'm not kidding when I say it was the best meal I ever had. But for the price, it shouldn't have been anything less. Amazing food, great service and lovely atmosphere. My only complaint is that I got the feeling the waitress was wondering what people like us were doing there.
