We came to Chicago for the marathon and wants to try some good Vegan place. We tried other places but this one is really good. It’s value for money and the taste is unique.
The taste is unique.
If you are around give a try you will love it.
We ordered the following and no regrets at all.
Potato kale soup
Ensalada Azteca salad
Grilled chicken Teriyaki Sandwich
Munchwrap supreme
Cauliflower Po’Boy
Beignets
This place is worth the trip. Everything is fresh and quality ingredients. Even the ketchup is organic with no high fructose corn syrup in it.
The Nachos are delicious and I haven’t tried the Chicken tenders yet. Not into fried as it’s not healthy but someone will enjoy it.

Nice Clean Spacious Restaurant. Service is AMAZING. Food is just Ok. It’s definitely much better than the processed food vegan restaurants. I will try and order something different and update the review if anything changes. The steamed Kale is Ok. The Munchwrap was cooked to hard. And the flavors is just ok.
My daughter is vegetarian and lactose intolerant so a vegan diet suits her best. We came on a Friday at 6 before a show at the CIBC. I was pleasantly surprised at the extensive menu, good food and attentive service. I had the twisted wrap - it was terrific. The organic root beer was light and delicious. Great service, clean, plenty of seating and good location in the loop.
So happy to see this place was alive and well in Chicago! I used to frequent this vegan joint in California when it seemed like there were locations everywhere—then so many of them closed down. If you are vegan or try to eat plant based, this is absolutely the best place for a solid meal! Highly recommend their chicken tenders and anything that features their plant proteins especially burgers and sandwiches! I also love their salads that are hearty and filling/packed with protein. An hr before closing they were still getting tons of walk-ins.
Ordered a Chicken run ranch and A Twister wrap, and the taste was DELICIOUS. It’s by far the best Vegan restaurant I’ve been to in the whole of US. I’m Seattle based and I hope you guys expand to the west coast. Plus it costed $30 which seemed totally worth it.
From a non Vegan eater. I couldn’t believe how comparable the chicken sandwich tasted. Salads and sandwiches are great go too options. Would recommend trying the desserts too!
Native Foods has lots of vegan offerings. Chickpea Shwarma ordered was filling but needed more sauce and fries needed more seasoning to make it a 5/5. Service was fast! Ordered online and got the food in less than 10 minutes.
Cozy and friendly staff. Went close to the store closing hour so took pictures of the inside (to avoid taking pictures of customers!). Orange Cauliflower was yummy - I walked around for like 30 min before sitting down to take the picture so the display is off but the taste was great. I care a lot of saltiness and this one was perfecto 👌. Coating around cauliflower was spot-on too. Made it taste like chicken, lol, except obviously cauliflower was cauliflower (can't duplicate chicken texture). The only reason I didn't give 5/5 for service was that the portion size was slightly smaller than I had expected. Otherwise a healthy-eat out choice! Would recommend and I'm eager to try another dish.
Native Foods forever! Native remains one of my fav vegan restaurants for full meals or snacks.
Delightful menu variety, outstanding service, and delicious food (both healthy and not too healthy) 😋
I got the shawarma bowl and it was wonderful and filling. I was only able to eat half of it and then saved the rest for later. The tzatziki sauce on the side was delicious!
Ironically, just as I'd posted earlier from "Feed Your Head" I'd already mapped out and planned to hit Native Foods for takeout to bring with me on the last 21-hour leg of my train trip back to NYC - because, once again, Amtrak SUCKS when it comes to Vegan food options - as in, there ARE none (unless you like eating pretzels and hummus sold in those little plastic cups, for breakfast lunch and dinner! 😳)
Anyway, I ordered a Buddha Bowl, and a Chicken, "Bacon" & Avo Club with a side of Potato Salad. Between that, and the gyro from Feed Your Head, I should be alright until I return to NY, NY!
Update #1: I opted to have the Chicken, Bac'n & Avo with Potato Salad for breakfast (I was so hungry, I snapped the photo added here, AFTER I bit into it - 😋 - LOL - BTW, that's just outside of Buffalo, NY whizzing by in the background - feels kinda nice being back in my home state again ♥️) This really hit the spot, and tasted really good even after 12 hours on the train, so I can imagine how good it is freshly made! The Potato Salad, with fresh dill, (I LOVE dill) was tasty and tangy. This, with a freshly made coffee in the Cafe car was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Bravo, Native Foods! 👏👏🌱
Update #2 - so more than 12 hours later, we're still on the train, due to heavy rain and severe flooding in the entire Hudson Valley Region....never made it past Rhinecliff, and we're currently being pulled back up to Albany, New York where we'll either be put up for the night in a hotel (not betting on that,) or else Amtrak is working with New York State to have buses brought in that will bring us to our NYC destination (Moynihan/Penn Station) And, once again, I was rescued by a Vegan establishment, this time with Native Foods sweet and savory Buddha Bowl, which held up perfectly over the last 29 or so hours. 😀

Pros: Excellent customer service, Food is fresh and tasty
Amazingly tasty (desserts too)! Very welcoming host, friendly for kids, and certainly one of the top places I've been to. Thanks!
10 STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!
This was my husband and I first time visiting Native Foods Cafe on Clark Street, and it was a treasured find!! It's not like plant-based foods once served, where you will find it bland and grainy, but it was well prepared & extremely pleasant to my palate. Since it was our first time, the clerk (Zari) was such a beautiful soul in assisting us with our choices and making the whole experience smooth! If you're in the Chicago area, do yourself a favor and stop by one of their three locations.. Milwaukee, Belmont, or Clark Street. You will not be disappointed! N.Bailey APPROVED✅️
WOW! A new favorite cafe in Chicago. So many great vegan choices. And they're open on weekends!
My husband tried and liked the Crazy Good Chicken Sandwich. The plant-based patty was really thick and moist.
I loved the cauliflower chickpea shawarma wrap. Plenty of protein with the quinoa. Lots of flavor and texture with the tahini, arugula, and tomato-cucumber combo.
I did find (after the fact) on the website's nutritional page that the wrap I had was over 900 calories, more than 50 grams of fat, and over 1500 mg of sodium. YIKES. So not healthy on those three counts that matter to me, but that's true of most fast food. I'll need to keep that in mind for future visits.
Served in compostable trays with compostable utensils. YAY!
Be sure you check the menu online because there are seasonal variations. What shows in Menu tab here is not necessarily what's on current menu.
We will definitely be back!
Super fast food. Mac and cheese was okay and the wrap was great!
The food runner was nice and the cashier was helpful. Food taste lighter than it looks, I had the crunch wrap combo and chicken tenders. The oatmeal cookie pie had a tasty cream filling. Four stars for the convenience.
