My husband and I love Lawry’s and have never had a bad experience here. We make it a point to come here whenever we’re in town. The staff is always very friendly and the service is always on point. I highly recommend it and would take any 1-2 star reviews with a grain of salt. You won’t be disappointed.

First time eating here and it was devine!! Reservation was on time, each side was perfect and I now like prime rib better than lobster. The wine went well with our dinner. Our server was sweet and timely. She spinned our lovely Lawry's salad on ice tableside and told us about the first Lawry's in Beverly Hills. I recommend everyone eat here at least once for the whole experience. Thank you Lawry's for our excellent dinner!!

The food was absolutely spectacular! I was honestly a little concerned that there was no setting for a sharp steak knife... but when I cut into it with what was essentially a butter knife, I got it! Never in my life have I had Prime Rib that was so tender, I could cut it with my fork! So much flavor! The sides were very good. Excellent salad. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Being Christmas time, the carolers was a nice touch. My only complaint was that the service seemed a bit slow... it wasn't overly busy. But, having said that, I can't wait to get back and try our the bone-in ribeye!

We were there 12/16/17 and the food and service were great. We have been here many times as this is my husbands favorite restaurant but he said he believes this meal was the best of his life. He is a foodie so that is saying a lot. My only complaint would be that the small chocolate bundt cake they brought him for his birthday day was very dry. The desserts we ordered though were awesome.

The evening was perfect. Lawrys is one of our favorite restaurants. We had told the restaurant in advanced that it was our wedding anniversary and they treated us wonderfully. The food was perfect and they surprised us with a dessert with a candle for our anniversary. Great place for important celebrations.

Amazing service once again! The prime rib was perfect and the horseradish cleared my sinuses better than any ENT Dr. in all the land. Thank you for making my daughters birthday dinner terrific.

We have been here many times and enjoyed each time. This visit was no exception. Initially, we would not make our reservation time, I called them and they were very happy to accommodate us for a half hour later, which we did manage to arrive 15 minutes earlier. And, it was still all right to do so. Our waitress, Miss Hodge, was wonderful. She explained the menu perfectly along with the unadvertised special appetizers. We had the calamari. The sourdough bread was amazing. I had a side of fried onions with my entree, which were amazing. I had the California cut but no vegetables, which I was wishing I had had. I do love the creamed corn!! My husband had the Lawry’s cut. We both love medium well and both our entrees were perfect. The au jus and gravy are wonderful, as is the whipped horseradish sauce. She spun the salad perfectly for me; the dressing and pepper are so good. My husband was even able to get his with the bone which was tasty. Of course, I took most everything home, as I cannot possibly eat that much at one sitting. For dessert, I had the chocolate cart with berries and cream which is always the best dessert ever! The only one thing that I could complain of, was I had the email to upgrade our cuts from the lower priced ones, but that did not happen. I did tell her about it initially. I guess I should have reminded her when the slicing chef came. All in all, it was a good experience, as always.

A truly unique and wonderful experience! The prime rib was tender, succulent and incredibly flavorful. The mashed potato and veg were perfect and the gravy was amazing - full of character but not overshadowing the delights of the meat and beautiful rich color. And then of course there are the legendary Yorkshire Puddings. As an Englishman with a profound attachment to Yorkshire Pudding I can safely say that only my wife has ever served me better in the US. These are worth traveling to Chicago for! The Lawry's ambience is wonderful and on this occasion was enhanced by the festive trappings of the Holiday Season - including a quartet of rather wonderful acapella Carol singers who took requests as they moved around the building. Everything was topped off beautifully by some highly professional but really engaging and friendly service - primarily from the very splendid Miss Hodges, who was a joy. The whole experience was made even more special when the news came through that Roy Moore had lost Alabama. Altogether an unforgettable evening!

Every time my family has been here the food has been outstanding as well as the service a+++ 4 stars every time. This time the food was as good as ever! Yeah for that! Unfortunately the service was seriously sub-par. Waited 16 minutes for the waitress to greet us, there was no bread brought to the table, and when the carver came to serve our meal, the waitress had totally forgotten want we had ordered. She she brought the soup, she just laid it on the table and did not tell us what it was, dropped and ran. No acknowledgement of us at all. My 11 year old said thank you very much and no response at all, just dropped and keep running. The salad was barely dressed since She missed the bowl for several seconds. Food was outstanding as usual and we will go back however. This was a tragic failure on the staff the time. Every time we said Thank you it was not acknowledged. So sad because my family has been coming here for nearly 20 years and first problem ever

The Chicago Lawry's The Prime Rib in our honest opinion has overthrown the original in Beverly Hills. With not only excellent Prime Rib, but excellent management to match. We dined here for our anniversary and everything was perfect, they even gave us a letter thanking us for choosing them for our anniversary! The Beef Bowl was 9.5/10, the customer service was a 10/10, everything was perfect from the moment we walked in until the moment we walked out of the door. They definitely upheld the Lawry's Code of Ethics which goes the extra mile, and that's one of the things we love about Lawry's.

My sister and I wanted to try this place out ago but never got the chance. We were finally able to come back with our parents for a nice family dinner. It's pleasantly surprising to find such a place in Chicago. Usually, when you go to a steak house, you'll get your entree and ask "Where's the rest of it?", especially for the pricing. I can definitely assure you that the portion sizes here are well worth it. The food is great, but the service could be better. They're not the fastest bunch of people, but it is what it is. Also, the staff uniform is very demeaning in my honest opinion. It gives an atmosphere of servitude, which I'm not into, in one way or another.

upscale traditional steakhouse with consistentency in food, service, and atmosphere. To me, the lobster tail is the highlight of the meal. Really fresh and beautifully cooked and seasoned. I'd recommend everyone to get it. The ribs were cooked medium-rare, really tender and flavorful. The salad and dessert were fine but lack of character. Last, the decor, it's one of the traditional luxury decor you don't often find in Chicago.

Delicious prime rib. Chef slices right at table. Use spices on table to season yourself. Highly recommend Corn and spinach sides. Staff amazing. Plan for $120 per couple, $150 with drinks Only had 1 single private bathroom, very weird. Incredible woodwork and atmosphere.

It's a staple in chicago. We eat here almost every year during a tradeshow we attend. Have been coming here for about 10 years. Service is generally good. Menu is starting to change a bit which might be a good thing, but I'm sure most people come here for the prime rib. Obviously the prime rib is delicious. Of the sides, the spinning salad and cream corn are great. Would recommend if you're looking for a goos prime rib.

Not your typical steak house. I can see the difference between Lawry’s and the Morton’s, Chicago Cut, etc. They got spacious area and the interior design was elegant and gorgeous. The Spinning Bowel Salad is the phenomenal that I would love to have it everyday if I am on a diet. The Lawry’s cut comes with big portion that I was not able to finish. Their herb pepper gives a special touch to it. I also enjoyed the crab cake and shrimp cocktail.

Best Prime Rib ever! Come prepared with an empty stomach and a full wallet. This place is not cheap in the full sense of the word, but you cannot expect to get the best prime rib without paying a pretty penny. First let me tell you that we had the most chipper and friendly waitress that we could have hoped for. I was worried that with the fancy entrance, coat check, maître de and luxurious decor, we had gone into a place were pretentious people take other pretentious people to turn the nose up at others. I was wrong thankfully and our waitress, Ms. Jackson, immediately put me at ease and made me feel comfortable. The food was just as good as expected. I ordered the "California cut" of the prime rib dinner menu and got it exactly as requested (medium rare). Hubby ordered the "Lawry's cut", which he ordered rare and the thing had bone in and a glorious redness to it that was almost mooing of how fresh it looked. They actually bring a cart and cut the meat right in front of you. The prime rib dinners come with a house salad which was spun and tossed right at the table by our expert waitress. In addition to the salad, the man that served the prime rib also gave us mashed potatoes and gravy (the freshly made from prime rib drippings kind). A little while later, our waitress brought us Yorkshire pudding, which was also freshly made, puffy and soft. It was so much food that I looked at my hubby with incredulity when he suggested we order dessert. I ended up giving in and ordered crème brûlé. Everything was delicious, the service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was great in spite of the fancy surroundings. It was truly a great experience.

Beautiful old mansion transformed into a great place for a nice dinner. Personally I thought the prime rib was a little dry. The french onion soup was amazing. Highly recommend. The price of a shrimp cocktail was exorbitant considering how they appeared to be thrown onto a plate. Size also was a let down. The filet was melt in your mouth, perfectly juicy. Less to no salt would be my recommendation. The lobster was prepared correctly, although it lacked in size. They do pay attention to detail, even in such a busy super club. I placed a piece of silverware on the floor only to have it promptly pucked up. I never saw them take it which was impressive. Lawrys is not a very romantic or quite place to go if thats what you prefer. In my neverending quest and infatuation with steak i would rate it a 7 of 10.

Warning for your Car Valet by White Star Parking Services trying to say you parked longer than 3 hours! The Valet "owner" as he called himself clocked us in a half hour before we even arrived! I would have goven Lawrys 5 stars in not for the negative experience we had with their Valet vendor. Lawrys Food was to die for! Every thing inside the building was exceptional! Get your reservations asap before they close 12/31/2020.

Good place for prime rib, but I've had better prime rib and other restaurants. Sides are expensive, not really able to share some of them like family style like at other steakhouse type restaurants. Other food items are just okay. Good place to try at least once, I probably would not go again.

It's all about the presentation and experience and this place make sure both happen. All I can say is get the prime rib. There is no need to order anything else. It come with a salad and side, so the chances of leaving hungry is minimal.
