Recommended by my local friend in Chicago, I have to agree their dogs taste great. But the best thing here is their chicken fingers and the buffalo sauce. Super yummy. Not too crowded during my visit.
Was introduced to this hidden gem after the Hot Chocolate races over the weekend. One gal in our party wanted a true Chicago Hot Dog, and this is where we were taken! The dogs and sliders were amazing! I also tried a taste of someone's chocolate peanut butter malt, and it was excellent! Will definitely come back next time we are in the city!!
Ordered the Big Chicago Dog and it was good. It had a little kick to it. Not sure if it had jalapenos on it. I will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others. The customer service was good.
Was in there last Saturday night before my 1st ever away Lions game. Tried the Big Chicago dog. It was spicy good! Can't wait to come back to Chicago again!
It's a hot dog shop, don't expect fine dining service there. That being said...
This is, in my mind, the best version of a Chicago Dog that I've had yet in Chicago (said as a New Yorker). I stll don't get the concept of a Chicago Dog, there's just too much going on to really enjoy the "dog." But, this version has the tastiest relish I've had, and the sport peppers just seem a little spicier. I love the poppy seed hot dog bun.
The "It's not a corn dawg" was equally tasty- green chilies, corn, mayo, pico de gallo, cotija cheese- elotes on a hot dog. Very messy but very tasty.
If you have plans for up to 6 hours AFTER going to Devil Dawgs, DO NOT do what I did- chase it all down with a caramel salty pretzel shake. It was fabulous, delicious, and slowed me down for hours, enough that walking around Chicago's Riverwalk felt like exercise. Save it for a hot day when you aren't doing much.
Pics of Anthony Bourdain are inside. If he enjoyed, I knew it would be great, and you can see for yourself.
We were visiting Chicago from Austin so I HAD to get a dog! We were waiting to go to a concert, Devil Dawgs had great reviews so we went for it. It has a SUPER fun divey vibe, and they have LOADS of dog options. We shared 3 dogs & tots and we're super happy with them all! (Please note that they don't actually cut the dogs in half. We did that so we could share) Check'em out!
When in Chicago, you get a pizza, an Italian beef, or a Chicago dog. I went with the Chicago dog this visit. Still mourning Hot Doug's, I just wanted a classic. They didn't disappoint, tasted exactly how it was supposed to. I could give this ish for no poppy seeds on the bun, but I'm not local so I don't have the right. Fresh cut fries were excellent. Definitely a good spot for a quick cheap bite, my order was out in minutes.
I needed a quick bite, this was that. Got the big Chicago and fries. Service was quick, food came out in enough time to make me think they cooked it to order but quick enough I wasn't waiting around. If it's good enough for Anthony Bourdain, it's good enough for me.
I had the Chicago dog and fries, and both were delish. I was a little skeptical with the relish, as it looks like it might be radioactive 🤣 but it was good. Service was fast and friendly!
Went to Chicago to celebrate my granddaughter’s 14th birthday. It was recommended I try this place. Now, I love hotdogs but should have skipped the relish. I know it’s not a Chicago dog without the whole Sha-bang but it wasn’t my favorite. The chicken strips; however, delish! No worries, when we visit again, we will be back! The place is close to a great parking spot (& cheap), the service is on point and - well - I didn’t say the hotdog was gross, I just didn’t care for that relish!
We also had some slider that wasn’t too bad :)
