I loved the patio set up and approach to the restaurant. It was a bit too humid to sit out but I wished I could have. No fault of the place. We had to try to the deep dish pizza of course. The crust was wonderful and had a nice cheese finish. The sauce was a nice simple sauce. Plain even, but I enjoyed the simplicity. I was nervous that there would be too much cheese, but this had a nice balance and wasn’t over full of cheese. If you are looking for that kind, this wasn’t the place. We had pepperoni and it was an old world style pepperoni that gave a nice “authentic” taste to the pizza. Overall I enjoyed it but wish I could have tried more on the menu. The pizza was so filling that splitting a 12” between two people was too much. I would say 4-5 people plus some other food so you can try the pizza and other Italian food.
Very good pizza, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We ordered the deep dish buratta & basil: it wasn't as "dishy" as I expected. More like a very good specimen of a thicker sort of pizza, made with generous helpings of fresh ingredients. Also had the bruschetta and it was very good as well.
I ordered the artisan crust pepperoni pizza. It came out hot from the oven. The crust was perfectly chewy with a pillowy crust, not burnt in the least bit. The honey drizzled on top was just right and not too much. The waiter was attentive and not overbearing. I highly recommend.
The Best in the Midwest!
I come to Labriola every time I come to Chicago—and they never miss! I use to live in the Chi and I’m telling you I’ve had pizza all over and this is number one for me.
Get the cupping pepperoni with hot honey, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
The customer service is excellent. Dustin took great care of us. It began to rain and he made sure we got inside, he also brought us a fresh salad because it was outside for a while. This is what keeps people coming back. Great food and great service!
I ate her twice this time and ordered pretty much the same thing.
This was my first time having a deep dish and I wasn’t disappointed. One 12” deep dish can feed three hungry adults. The atmosphere and location of the restaurant is awesome. Plus you don’t have to get on Giordano’s waitlist for an hour to be seated.
Yes yes yes. So amazing best pizza I have ever had. My boyfriend and I were in Chicago and he wanted me to try a deep dish one and this was so mouth watering. The restaurant is so cute and nice, right next to our hotel the magnificent mile. Downtown and close to a lot of stores and other places. I had a spicy mango sangria snd it was delicious and Spicy. Me and my boyfriend got a deep dish pizza and chicken Alfredo to split the pizza was absolutely amazing super think and super cheesy, the Alfredo had a good flavor but it needed more spices more salt and pepper maybe a little garlic. This is a true authentic Italian place if you're looking for one. Just go and try the pizza you will not regret it!!! We both ate off of it twice. Also the happy hour had some really good deals on it you could get a whole craft of sangria for $20 and normally it's 36 and that was for drinks. I think there was about three flavors you could do in the crafts but regular I think it was about five
I recently indulged in a delightful dining experience at Labriola Restaurant in the vibrant city of Chicago. The salmon and calamari dishes I ordered were nothing short of extraordinary – a symphony of flavors that left my taste buds singing. The attention to detail in the presentation added an extra layer of sophistication to the meal, making it a feast for both the palate and the eyes.
The ambiance of Labriola is a perfect blend of chic and inviting, providing a comfortable setting for an exquisite culinary journey. The attentive service, akin to a well-choreographed dance, enhanced the overall enjoyment of my evening.
Labriola Restaurant goes beyond merely serving dishes; it crafts an immersive gastronomic experience that resonates with the soul. In the bustling region of Chicago, Labriola stands out as a culinary gem, and I wholeheartedly award it a well-deserved five-star rating. It's a haven for those seeking a harmonious fusion of exceptional cuisine and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Delicious pizza! Calamari, delicious. Brussel sprouts, delicious. Also got to try a sample of their police oil cake and it was incredible. I was surprised it was called an olive oil cake and was a bit iffy about it but it is soooo good. We were seated fairly quickly and sat outside to celebrate a birthday and have dinner. The pizza was extremely flavorful and filling and I can see why it’s rated one of the best places for deep dish. I wish my stomach was giant so I could have eaten more because I promise that you’ll wish you could eat the entire dish once you taste it!
Everyone needs somewhere for their Chicago-style pizza christening, and Labriola was mine. Labriola’s pizzas are mouthwatering behemoths. It’s hard to imagine ungodly quantities of cheese atop 2 inches of golden crust as anything but delicious. And they were, indeed, delicious. However, I found the pizza to be lacking in sauce and overzealous with cheese (though take my non-native opinion with several grains of salt). Given the heavy prep time and denseness of the meal, Chicago-style pizza isn’t exactly my favorite form of cheese and carbs, but Labriola served up the experience I was after and for that it was worth a trip.
My one recommendation is to avoid letting your eyes be bigger than your stomach (one 12” is enough to serve 4 hungry people!)
We strolled into this place on a whim about 20-30 min before closing, and the staff was MORE than accommodating! We are from Florida, and we are used to being turned away by restaurants near closing because “the kitchen is already closed”, so the way we were so warmly welcomed was amazing. We were seated with the most fantastic waitress we have ever encountered in our lives. Her name was Elizabeth, and she went above and beyond for us. Again, super surprising since it was so late in the evening, but she treated us like we were her first and only table of the night. Hands down the best service from a waitress ever! She had all the answers, all the tips, was super on top of things, I can’t express enough just how wonderful she was. Someone give this girl a raise! As far as food goes: delish!! This was our first Chicago pizza and we loved it—even my New Yorker boyfriend, but don’t tell anyone 😆. OMG AND THE GARLIC KNOTS! Don’t sleep on them! They’re almost croissant-like but so freakin good. I’ll be dreaming of them for the rest of my life!!!
We had toasted Ravioli as Appetizer, Lemon Chicken, and Shrimp pasta as the main course. The best meal was the appetizer! The service was deficient. Could get better.
Labriola has such good pizza, I was absolutely surprised. I order the thin crust sausage, it has fennel, yumm. The atmosphere is cool, great people.watching, especially when you sit outside. The service is excellent, friendly, and quick. The wine list is really great for the style of restaurant, no complaints. Their Labriola Chopped Salad is so good. I could eat it daily. The portion size is shareable and it's one of the best in the area, for the price. It's a great place for any occasion.
We had the deep dish pizza. The crust was amazing, nice and crispy. The sauce and the cheese were perfect.
If you go there, please ask to be in the section of Monaee. She is so sweet, kind and helpful. Our table wasn’t stable and she did everything she could to stop that. Her smile and her kindness charmed the 3 of us. She should totally be rewarded and her work should not go unnoticed. She is a very genuine person. Her service was ON POINT !!!! Keep up the good work Monaee ! We even told the manager that she was amazing. The manager took the time to talk to us and was very nice also.
This place is amazing. Upscale food, atmosphere, and service but with a casual vibe. Highly recommend making this a stop when you are downtown. Worked well with our parties food allergies as well.
I really enjoyed this meal. We got a variety of things. The zucchini chips were good, but a little salt made then much better. The Cacio E Pepe was also very good, but needed a little salt and then was fantastic. The deep dish pizza was excellent……but the highlight was the gnocchi bolognese……wow. So damn good. I will come back.
Had to try the deep dish pizza, so we got thr pepperoni one. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't very cheesy, I guess I expected more cheese. Also had the garlic knots, they were really good and buttery, like croissants
The waitress was very pushy, and a bit weird about my ID for a martini (which was not the best I have had) and had to take it back to ask even though I am well over 21. It seemed after that she treated me weird the whole time we ate.
The Chicago style deep dish though was fantastic. I’m not a tomato person but the sauce as well the crust, which I tend to not finish was so cheesy and juicy. The opposite of a blah/plain pizza. It took awhile but was worth it.
Great restaurant! There was no wait for dinner on a recent Sunday evening. I enjoyed sitting outside, and the food was delicious. I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed. From the outside, this looks like a small cafe but the inside is huge!
