It must have been because of the Blue Cheese that made the pizza soggy. I still give it 4/5 because I love pizza. Manager came out and talked to us so I thought that was pretty cool.

Gino’s East is one of Chicago’s popular deep dish pizza chains and has been going strong since opening their first restaurant in River North in 1966.

We went for lunch and waited 30 minutes for the deep dish pizza. It was worth the wait. The crust/dough was different, but delicious. Bring a marker so you can write your name on the walls, tables and chairs.

Great pizza & excellent brisket nachos! Service was great. Really liked that we could make a reservation via OpenTable on a typical busy Chicago Saturday evening.

With all the history and legacy that comes with the name, Gino's East stays true to every word.
The ambience and staff is very pleasing and inviting.
And, the Deep Dish was worth traveling for. It's super yummy with all the cheese, filling and tomatoes.
If you ever come to Chicago, don't miss out on this legend.

Went with 8 people, quickly sat and quickly served. Pizza was deep dish so it took longer. I was hungry enough to eat my arm, but when it came I was so pleased I waited. You shouldn't be disappointed here. I had the meat pizza, delightful! They offer a variety of beer and wine as well. Nice, clean environment. Service oriented staff.

I have been there to try a deep dish pizza for the first time. We ordered one small deep dish pizza. (Thank god they had vegetarian options too). it was good enough that two of us couldn't finish the whole pizza. They have graffiti all over the wall by people who visited the place. Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, great pizza (I don't like deep dish but this is the better pizza I have tasted so far) with good seasoned spicy sausage and decent crust as well as flavorful sauce. Menu doesn't offer as much variety as Lou Malnatis pizzeria but it had the better pizza. The spinach mozzarella stick was too dry and not tasty at all. They have their own brewery in-house which was impressive. I don't drink but my sister did enjoy both in house beers. I really like the hops disguised as pineapple shirt but their gift shop has no other inventory besides the stuff on the wall (and I could not find it online at their website)

Visited this restaurant on my first night in Chicago and was very impressed. Our waitress was very friendly. This was my first real deep dish pizza and it did not disappoint! Didn’t stay long enough for the comedy club so can’t comment on that. (Visited October 2018)

Great staff, great beer and great pizza. There is nothing not to like about Geno’s and this Place is no different. This Geno’s is super friendly and I have to thank the Manager Brad for going out of his way to print my Bulls tickets even after he forgot his password. Lol. Great place, great staff and I’m a big fan. Geno’s does pizza right regardless of your style.

Ate here for lunch while visiting Chicago and ordered the Meaty Legend deep dish and it was really good. We ordered carryout ahead so we wouldn't have to wait 45-60 minutes, but when we got there it wasn't too crowded so we decided to sit down. Pizza came out a few minutes later so it worked out great. I also tried Lou Malnati's deep dish the same day and I'd have to say I liked Lou Malnati's a little better. The sauce on Gino's was a little too much and I liked the crust a lot more on Lou Malnati's deep dish. Both were still excellent though.

Gino's was a great find to try real Chicago deep dish pizza! Their Buffalo pizza should come with a warning that the spice isn't anything to mess around with! Could be the diced jalapeños in the sauce, but damn! My parents Supreme pizza was delicious as well!

Amazing Chicago deep dish pizza. We went for Deep AF and one pie between 3 of us was plenty. We were able to choose half and half toppings too. Good value and a must do when in the windy city

First restaurant of my Chicago vacation, had to have pizza! I've seen a lot of good things so off we went! Place is COVERED in writing everywhere like a dive bar/fudpuckers, but don't let that fool you, food and service is excellent restaurant quality. In-house drinks, I'd recommend taking advantage of happy hour, as they are rather expensive (around 8 dollars per draft), but the drinks are great. Their pizza gave me a great introduction to Chicago style pizza, I ate till I felt sick...and heck, I might go again. My wife ordered calamari, and that was surprisingly good...just an odd choice including the rinds in the fried lemons, so watch out for that. We gave our feedback to the manager, and he was very receptive and even gave us a free round of drinks for our feedback! I recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience Chicago Pizza!

We had a great waitress (I believe her name was Roxy) at Gino's East. We arrived about 4:15 on a Saturday and were told there was an event, so we needed to be done by 5:30. There were 5 of us so the waitress recommended a DEEPAF pizza. Side note: for those that dont know what that stands for, how do you politely explain that to a customer? It means deep as f$@# We ordered a deepaf spinach mix pizza with chicken on the side. I don't like to mess with my deep dish and I stick to my 4 ingredients: crust, cheese, spinach, and sauce! There were many issues with the delivery of the pizza to our table, but the waitress and manager really took care of us and ended up comping some of our meal, which was really kind of them. We had some hummus and veggies to hold us over. Back to the pizza. When it arrived correctly, it was the best deep dish I've had in a long, long time. Every Gino's East has a little different recipe, and this location is now my favorite. The crust had some crunch along with some soft goodness, so it wasn't overly crunchy. The cheese and spinach were mixed well and I loved that gooey, stringy cheese. Yum! Then the sauce. Oh boy! It was perfect. No canned taste, perfectly balanced between sweet and salty. It was a robust tomato sauce. Seriously, the best deep dish I've had. We ordered another to go even though we were full. That's how much we loved it! If you want to travel with the pizza, freeze it asap so it stays nice and fresh, and when ready to eat, pop it in the oven (Never the microwave!) The last thing about this location was a cool tank top. (See pic) Unfortunately they only had XL, so I couldn't get it. Hey Gino's, if you want to send me a small tank, I would be forever grateful ;) We ended up leaving after 5:30 due to the pizza issues, but management and our waitress were awesome about the whole thing and they allowed us to enjoy our pizza.

Man the blue cheese and jalapeño pizza is unreal! At the tail end of a week in Chi-town I wasn't sure if a pizza place could wow me but Gino's did. Easily in my top two or three. Service seemed a bit slow but overall a great experience.

If you want a cornmeal crust Chicago style pizza, this is a go to. The wine selection isn’t good, but the beer and cocktails make up for it. It’s a huge place with lots of people watching and of course awesome service.

Fantastic!! Brought a new visitor for their first time to Chicago and loved it. I pretty much knew that'd be the case. Quick service and don't forget the mozzarella sticks, just sayin'.
