I attended a private party here in the back room. The food was spectacular. Obviously they take real attention to detail in the authenticity of their food. I hope to have a chance to come back here.
The dishes are REALLY good and the ambiance is exceptional. The chef even came and talked with us halfway through our meal and made some wine recommendations. Super nice guy and really helped sell the "local" feel. Will definitely return.
Its a lovely restaurant. Good Italian cuisine. Service was good but not great. If you have time, this place is highly recommendable especially in off peak hours. I don't see them coping with busy periods as i found the service slow. I had the gnocchi with salmon. It was heavenly and a reasonable portion. The portobello mushroom appetizer was small for the price. By the time i was done, dinner including one drink it was $50. Overall, i had a lovely time. I ate outside and the traffic is not so busy.
If you are seeking Italian with style, class and a top rated chef, this is a place to try.
I love Gioco! Their pastas are not only great for the South Loop, but they'd stack up among the best in the city. If you like thin crust pizza, definitely try theirs out. Very yummy. The manager and waitstaff are really personable, too.
We have eaten in Gioco's private room, main dining area and patio on multiple occasions. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff is very kind and accommodating. My husband and I have always liked every item we have ordered. I once had the risotto which became my favorite dish so I was disappointed to see it was off the menu one day. The chef was kind enough to make the risotto for me anyways. Talk about great service! I highly recommend going here.
I've eaten here once, and it's a charming space with wonderful food. There wine was good and the service was friendly. It is on the expensive side. In a town loaded with good Italian, it's now always way to stand out, but Gioco is pretty special.
Amazing food. Just incredible. They understand Italian food, the dishes are flavorful and satisfying, and the atmosphere feels expensive without actually BEING too expensive. The drinks aren't weak, the staff is attentive and friendly. Wonderful place.
Absolutely delicious food. This is hands-down one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. I ordered the Ravioloni Alla Doppia Crema and it has to be the most flavorful meals I've ever eaten. The hostess was very kind and so were the servers. Beautiful atmosphere, great pasta and pizza, and great service. Definitely give this place a shot.
Found this place on Open Table and I'm glad I did. We ordered fettuccini alfredo with chicken, ravioli ala dopia crema, and penne arrabiata. The alfredo was missing some taste but nothing a little parmesan couldn't fix. After applying it the taste was much better! The chicken was charred but still very good. The ravioli sauce was possibly the greatest I've ever had. The penne sauce was also perfect. We went in when it wasn't busy so we didn't have any problems being refilled. Great attentive staff. They off happy hour specials from 4:30-6:30.
Was visiting the City for the night and we happen to stumble upon this restaurant. The staff are very friendly and responsive. They make sure your glass is always filled with water. The food was amazing! Definitely would come here again on my next visit to the City.
I love Gioco! Really good Italian food in a nice space. The staff have always been gracious and smart, especially in suggesting wine pairings. The food is authentic and delicious.
South Loop residents for 7 years - this is a neighborhood gem. Service has consistently been outstanding each time. Christian and Jose are the best! Fantastic food (ask for the buratta)
Amazing food. Great service! We got there near closing, and they stayed until we were done and were amazingly gracious about it. You have to check this place out if you're in Chicago!
