What a great little place in Fulton Market. The chicken was fantastic with just a little bit of a kick. The chicken was very moist! Great sides also, Mac n Cheese, Baked Beans, etc. This is a must for any fried chicken lovers.
Absolutely A great experience to dine at Gus’s the staff and the food are first class. This restaurant is always a must visit when I am in town for business flying in from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil . I tell the staff they have an international connection and there chicken is TOP!!
This chicken is the best. Comes out piping hot and is so full of flavor. I've tried a lot of the rest. I go to Gus's to have the best.
Being from Memphis my husband and I appreciate a Memphis institutions!
My husband and I have eaten at seven of the locations and the taste is spot on at each. We're lucky enough to have eaten at the original Gus's in Mason, Tennessee before it tragically burned down.
We were so happy to find Gus's in Chicago!!

Omg...... The chicken was absolutely amazing never had chicken as good as this and I've had some good chicken lol. The fried green tomatoes was on point!!! And the greens were seasoned to perfection!!!!! We drove 1hr 15 min and it was worth it!!!!!
Best Fried chicken ever! We tried in Memphis and found out they had Chicago location, it did not disappoint! Fried pickles, Mac & cheese are a must!

So happy that a Chicago location opened up. I first experienced Gus's in Tennessee and loved it! Hands down the best fried chicken ever! Fried pickles are amazing and the sweet tea is fantastic! If you get a chance, you must eat here! Your tummy and taste buds will love you forever! :)
Unbelievably great chicken! Hot, both in temperature, and in spice! They need to open one in southeastern Wisconsin so we don't have to drive 2 plus hours to eat chicken!
Great food...friendly staff! Though I think the portion sizes could be bigger for the price.

My kids took me there for my birthday and it was great! On many trips down south I always wanted to go but never made it. The chicken was fabulous crisp on the outside and hot and flavorful on the inside. Hot from the first piece to the last.

Great fried chicken and Pecan pie! The spicy fried chicken was new to me but it was great! The Pecan pie with vanilla ice cream was a delicious dessert! Will come back again!
First time there on Saturday was Excellent best chicken i've ever had service was awesome. The chocolate chess pie was delicious never had it before

Great fried chicken I would say 8/10 - I got everything for take out the Mac and cheese wee fine like 7/10 and the fries are good also 8/10. Everything was tasty - totally need a soda with all of this. Staff are nice during pick up and I look forward to try more things from that place!
Extremely flavourful! Portions were plentiful. The atmosphere was that of a southern gem. The fries weren't the best; but the okras definitely made up for it. I definitely would recommend giving Gus a try! Street parking only.

I got the 2 piece white chicken with beans and fries.
It was overall a pleasant meal. The crispy skin was a bit saltier than I would have liked, and I wish the chicken had more meat overall on it.
The fries were freshly fried and the beans were overall sweet. They were good, but I can’t say I was too impressed with either.
I would have gotten the 3 piece next time, and maybe dark meat instead too.

I was a little worried due to some reviews saying the chicken was cold but ours was super hot, crispy and delicious! Would come back for the chicken. The disappointing part is use of styrofoam which not only makes eating unenjoyable but also so wasteful!! Service was a bit slow but okay

Maybe I just haven’t had a ton of fried chicken in my life but this place has me looking no further. The first time I had Gus’s there were actual tears in my eyes. I didn’t know fried chicken could be so good. Fries? Seasoned to absolute perfection. Whatever they are putting in the fries I need the recipe for.

The chicken was hot, spicy, and juicy. It's a good combination. The pecan pie and ice cream sealed the deal for me...
The people working there are attentive, fast, and responsive.
The fries tasted really good and it was crunchy 🍟.
The chicken wasn't perfect or bad but I guess I am not a big fan of the type of oil used ( personal preference).
What to improve:
Adding a slice of pita bread, becuase it is stronger the bread being served.

So the food was good, the chicken is a lil spicy (just a heads up) but it’s good. I LOVE the fries 😋😋… Overall I’ll give them a 7.5/10

Cute area in Fulton market. Server was friendly. Food came out quite quick. Looked good- tasted ok- the 8 piece chicken. I would say not worth the price. Chicken was crispy and moist but not very flavorful. I got hr catfish meal and that was decent. It came with a slice of bread, fries, coleslaw and 4 pieces of fried catfish at $15usd.
We also ordered the fried okra- that was good.
Was surprised they didn’t have any fried chicken sandwiches on their menu.
First time going in and i enjoyed it. The chicken was great. And the sides were pretty good as well. I didn’t really like the greens because they were a bit salty. I will say Sarah was amazing and the customer service they provide is too tier.
Gus' is a fantastic choice for a quick bite to eat in the Fulton Market area provided that you are carrying your meal out. Their air-fried chicken always strikes the perfect balance of crunchy and moist, and the fries are seasoned to perfection.
The only thing preventing me from awarding them a full five stars is the dine-in service. It's obvious that some (not all) of the women serving have never had any serious experience as waitresses as they violate just about ever cardinal rule that the profession holds dear. Lengthy periods between refills and status checks. A lifetime to settle your bill. Failure to greet incoming customers (unless you're a large party with proportionately larger tips). Not a single shred of warmth in interactions. These few leave a lot to be desired.
I can’t express my love enough to Gus’s fried chicken. I live close by so this is my regular visit spot. Obviously I love the fried chicken and their potato salad so so much but I wanna say their service has always been so welcoming. There’s one time I was hesitating in between wings and normal dark meat, the lady just hand me a wing and let me try it! Gus always makes me feel like I’m in a great, heartwarming community. I tell everyone who comes to Chicago, Gus’s has the best fried chicken. Love you guys!
Grabbed 2 quick fried chicken thighs for about $10 - they were phenomenal. They’re effectively battered, almost like English fish and chips. Super crispy, juicy and a fantastic taste.
Wow, so glad I stopped in! Ordered the 2 piece white chicken plate, and had a beer on tap + a Memphis Lemonade (lemonade+ bourbon). Highly recommend stopping in for a bite! It was very quick service, relatively quiet on an early Sat afternoon. Fast and friendly service + delicious fried chicken. The mac and cheese is unbelievable - you must try it. 10/10
