Amazing food! My favorite are the veal meatballs! Drinks are on point! Most welcoming place I’ve ever been to! The Chef is amazing and personally checks every plate to make sure everything is perfect!
I really liked the look of the place, the menu is a delightfully different take on classic Italian. Cocktails were spot on. Bruschetta was very good. I enjoyed the special angelotti ?? (spinach pasta filled with riccotta & pancetta in a light alfredo sauce) finally I had a perfect coffee panna cotta with salted caramel sauce, fresh whipped cream and perfectly paired Italian old fashion with walnut bitters. My server was not shy and did a great job of describing the menu. I can't wait to go back and try the balls.
Fantastic staff, especially the bartenders. It's a little upscale price wise, but it's certainly worth the few extra bucks. Highly recommended for both brunch and supper.
Lamb Sliders appetizer followed with a steak grilled to perfection as well as a seafood pasta with squid ink you could actually taste, mussels and perfect shrimp were all 1st class. The atmosphere was bustling and festive. It's a great new addition for SoFo (Clark Street, SOuth of FOster). Congratulations!
Dining experience was superb! Wonderful evening with friends.
High recommend
Beautiful place. We sat outside for brunch. Wasn't busy. We got great service and the food was excellent.
The food, the service, the space, it all deserves 5 stars! We have been a fan of Chef Ramos for a while now and this time it was even better. We started with the Manzo "ball" which was basically perfection. We also had the Suppli Al Telefono (risotto croquettes) that were super tasty. For our main dishes we shared the Nocchi ala Romano, Pappardelle con Coda Alla Vaccinara and the hanger steak. The Nocchi was sort of like polenta with goat cheese. Yum. The other two were wonderful as well. I would definitely order them all again. Of course we weren't finished and had great desserts- Tiramisu and bread pudding. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the bread. The bread was delicious and I heard they bake it fresh in house.
Absolutely amazing. Food drinks and service are completely on point. The decor is phenomenal. Definitely a must try.
Best egg Benedict's I ever have. Fabulous food, awesome service, cannot wait to go back for dinner! Really wish you were on the south side but trust me will make the trip for a restaurant as good as this one!
This food is a joy to eat. You'll first be enthralled by the atmosphere but that isn't even the best part - each bite will have you saying mmmm and dancing in your seat. It is a pleasure to dine here.
Bar Roma always provides an amazing dinner and 5 star service! I love love love the meatballs and suggest you try them all. The wine selections are great and the wait staff are really good at making pairing suggestions. Love this place.
I enjoyed my meal here. The menu is uncomplicated yet diverse. I had the oxtail pasta and an appetizer of fried calamari and shrimp. The meal was tasty and satisfying for what one would want from an Italian cafe at this price point. The patio seating is a wonderful place to sit amongst flowers and greenery on a warm sunny day.
I don't know why I hadn't been there before! I was there Xmas eve, so were were seated very close to other tables (this may or may not be typical), but it was fine. The food was delicious. It felt a bit rushed--salad, app, drink and entree--and we were in & out in 45 minutes. Good mixta salad, delicious bruschetta with smoked salmon, and fantastic gnocchi. I look forward to going back again on a non-holiday.
Food was amazing! I ordered the Pappardelle with braised oxtail. OMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGG. So good, service is outstanding, drinks were good and they have an happy hour. Come for their happy hour. I can’t wait to come back. I maybe a regular here.
I came here by myself and it’s perfect for that or with friends. Nice causal vibe.
First time to this restaurant in Andersonville and we truly Loved it. Everything about this place was exactly what I was looking for when I made my reservation for our Friday night out.
Hi all 👋🏻 Time for another Wine & Pasta Wednesday! Today, coming from the westloop, was a bit of a hike but well worth it. Don’t think I’ve ever been to Andersonville but after dining here I’ll be back! After chatting up a few locals for recommendations we were guided to the meatballs. Rather than go for the Chicago favorite Manzo we took out waiters suggestion and went with the spicy pork Maiale. It didn’t disappoint. Lovely soft texture with just a hint of spice. From there we moved to the Black Peppercorn Cavatelli which was shockingly both rich and light right off the first taste. I think it may have been the smoked prosciutto and peas! 🤌🏼. From there we moved to the Braciola de Maiale (yes, more pork but also a suggestion from the waiter). It caught my eye for the peach mostarda. It was cooked well and delightful but my dining companion couldn’t get over the polenta it came with 🤌🏼🤌🏼. Another all star. We weren’t ready to leave so we saddled up at the bar for a drink or two. A totally different vibe with more natural light and liveliness than the dining room. We also learned there’s a happy hour menu to order from there. This place was fire and if you want to get a little north of the city, should definitely be a stop on your way.
I had the lasagna and my sister had the gnocchi. Let me tell you, this was the best italian I’ve ever had in my life. We chatted with the waitress, and all the noodles are made there fresh daily- and you can tell! Will be going back as soon as possible!
Service and atmosphere was spot on. Large portions and reasonably priced for the three course meal. Not authentic italian dishes, but you won't walk away hungry. The olive oil used with bread was subpar, but overall a fine experience.
Absolutely fantastic food! The tortellini was amazing, my partner had the cacio y Pepe and said it was amazing and we also got the panna cotta which was incredible! We will definitely be back. Very cute little restaurant with a great vibe!
Bar Roma is an absolute gem. They have some of the best Italian food in the city. The service is always excellent, and the staff are very nice and give great recommendations. They're busy these days, so I'd recommend making a reservation!
Absolutely the Best Italian Restaurant in the city of Chicago The chef is Amazing!
Had several dishes. Everything Was Perfection! Must try the handmade pasta/meatballs. The Italian sausage was most delicious sweet yet spicy, also had the Fantastic 10oz.porkchop, the Palenta was fantastic as well.
Every dishes make us surprisingly, and all impressed from bread to the end of meal. The bread with olive oil and Cheese Parmesan was sooooo good, the pasta, cocktails were very nice too! Service and staffs are very good too!
I believe this is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. The food is excellent, the keep excellent wines on their list, and the service is always above and beyond!
