I had originally planned to go to Ruth Chris Happy Hour. . I work in the IL Center so I decided to stay in the Complex. Man I am so glad I did!!! The food and drinks were on point!!! The ambience was amazing. Wait staff was warm and friendly. I have found a new spot for Thursday after work. Kudos to the Hyatt!!!!
Very nice place! Friendly staff! The food was delicious...The drinks could have been a little stronger, but I definitely recommend this place!
I really like this place. Great views, great staff and great food! My favorite place in the hotel.
This bar is located inside the Hyatt Regency Chicago where I was staying on a trip to Chicago. I decided to have a drink there one evening kill time after exploring the Navy Pier and taking a River Boat tour.
The bar is neat and clean but nothing to go out of your way to see. Half of the bar was blocked off for a dentist conference that night. I got to the bar before my group and didn’t realize I was sitting in the reserved area at first. Once a very nice dentist started speaking to me about the finer nuances of the Mesial, Distal and Buccal edges of a tooth, I realized my error. I thanked the kind dentist for the interesting information and excused myself as I saw my party entering the bar.
When I made my way to the other side of the barrier and to the table where my party was seated, it did take a minute before the waiter made it to our table. It was quite busy that evening, so I was understanding of the situation.
I ordered an Anti Hero IPA, which is a beer brewed by a local brewery called Revolution Brewing. The beer itself was hoppy and crisp. Quite bitter with hints of citrus and sweet caramel/butterscotch taste. I thought the beer was great and I ordered another one. In the end, we sat there for about an hour and enjoyed a few drinks.
This is not a bad spot to sit and chill, especially if you’re staying in the hotel. Otherwise, it’s not a bar you need to go out of your way to visit. I’m giving the bar a four star review based on the beer, which was really good.
The BIG Bar was very good. It is located in the Hyatt Regency Downtown Chicago and we went there twice, both Friday and Saturday night. The wait staff were friendly and fast and our drinks were great. A good place to visit when downtown Chicago.
Great bar inside the Hyatt Regency. The Happy Hour onion rings are such a good value. If you're sitting at the bar or other tables, it's a great place to grab a drink, meet up with friends, or go solo
I love the BIG Bar. We're staying at a different hotel on an upcoming trip but still plan to make a stop at BIG Bar just because of how friendly the staff is.
We spent hours here during a rainy December day watching sports and chatting with strangers.
The drinks are reasonably priced & there are plenty of televisions to watch plus a great atmosphere.
I met a friend here for drinks during the Homeland Security conference and it was a pleasant experience. The bar is modern upscale and the atmosphere was lively. Will definitely visit again. 😊
I was visiting from California for a conference and decided to stop at the Big Bar,im glad I did i met bartender Juan, he was very polite and provided excellent service. He made my gin and tonics perfectly and never let my drink run empty. I definitely recommend Big Bar the environment was busy but plenty of seats to sit relax and enjoy a drink or two or three. :)

One of the best place for breakfast or lunch.
Excellent environment with vast area.
Clean and we'll decorated.
Good family friends and kids
Buffet lunch or dinner have plenty of items to choose. Good tasted food.
Staffs are so friendly and helpful.
I like their chicken sausage very much.
Big Bar is the hotel bar at Hyatt Regency, so expect the drinks to be a little pricey. I ordered the sangria, it was okay. But the fun part is being able to see the whole lobby area and people watch. The entire lobby has lights that change colors slowly, giving a very cool vibe to the whole place.
Al Capone Smash is the drink to get here. It's a whiskey with some french liquor and other things... I think some mint as garnish. It was delicious. The ambience is cool and casual.
A beautiful bar at the Hyatt Regency. No cover charge. A lot of open space. Great decor. It has a great view of the city. TVs at every table with outlets and plenty of sports. Drinks are a bit pricey but worth the experience. Highly recommend a stop at big bar.
Such a great place. I highly recommend you to visit this place even if you don't accommdate the Hyatt regency. The bar has a few menu for side dishes but the flavor of the dishes I had at the place was decent. I think you can eat and drink all you wanna do in 100$ supposing your party is two. The server helping us was very kind and professional. If I have a chance to visit this city once again, I will visit here sincerely
Our server Eugene was really nice and easy to talk to. The salsa tasted more like a pizza or pasta sauce and it looked very blended. The mocktail I had was really good as well
Crazy big indeed, beautiful views of the city, decent cocktails and large selection of wine and bubbles. love the location and the decor.
The views from the bar are awesome, I loved the design and the exhibitor of the bottles, at night the ceiling and wall changes colors and it gives a very nice ambience. I was told that they had huge drinks but our nice waiter told us they had to cancel them after a drunk customer threw a glass to the bartender. That is why we can't have nice things. I was a little sad, but our drinks were great. I tried original mojitos and they were well prepared!
One of the better hotel bars I've been in, although the movie was decades ago - not that their keeping to the theme is a drawback since the Hyatt Chicago did away with their Irish pub many moons ago. Selection can be fairly standard, but I once got my hands on a Southern Tier XX Double IPA on occasion - and a Belgian dubbel I can't recall right now on another. Try one of their cocktails, and their wine by the glass is reasonably priced as well.
One of my favorite bars based on its appealing visual nature and location in Chicago. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is prices aren't great (big city hotel prices) and beer selection is weak. The liquor selection is huge. Top bar overall though.
