Always a great place to go eat for any occasion. We went for my sons bday food was exceptional as always the server Karen is the best in the restarunt. I always request her and she always delivers.. She knows every dish by heart and if u ask her about it she makes it sound so good that u want to order everything. She treats you like family and is never bothered no matter your request. The owner roger is great always comes and checks how the meal is and always greets every customer. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm love the old school Italian music playing. I love love love it and i wouldn't go to another Italian restaurant if given the choice.
By far the best Italian food I’ve had in a long time. It’s a small place so you definitely need to make a reservation especially on the weekends. Service was great and the portion size was prefect. I had enough leftovers for a second meal.
Our absolute favorite spot in the neighborhood! So happy it's a quick walk away. Roger, the owner, is always very gracious and server Lisa is the best! My go to is the Vodka Rigatoni and my boyfriend loves the meatballs. Also love the stuffed gnocchi (pillows of heaven), spicy gardiniera fried calamari and eggplant parmigiana. 😋
Fantastic Italian restaurant. Great food, great wait staff, great bartenders and the best part is that the owner will come to your table to ensure that you are enjoying your meal.
Seriously people it doesn't get any better than Ignotz !! Great food , great wine and Roger is one of the Best people you will ever meet !!!
Get restaurant, staff were very attentive & professional. The food was amazing, authentic Italian cuisine. I would recommend to my family & friends. Definitely going back.
This place is a little slice of heaven! We have driven about 90 miles three times in the past year to eat here. Great ambiance, wonderful service, (Thank you, Lisa!) The food is fantastic, and authentic. If Roger's grandmother's soup is on special, don't miss it! Best Italian wedding soup I've ever had. We've gotten specials almost every time we've visited and it's all been excellent.
Call for a reservation, but if you don't it's absolutely worth the wait!
Definitely the BEST meal I've had in YEARS from start to finish!! Great food, service & atmosphere. Forget Taylor Street... this place is a hidden gem and I'll be back again & again!!
Great homemade Italian specialities!! The best food and service and atmosphere!! What more could you ask for?
The entire staff was phenomenal and even initially when I booked the reservation over the phone. My family ran into traffic on our way there and they were very understanding and catered to our needs on our special occasion. Food is delicious to say the least and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Truly thankful for their staff making our dinning experience wonderful.

We had a wonderful meal, and Lisa was the best! Roger made sure to welcome us. We had the shrimp/ scallops in a bourbon sauce over pasta- delicious! One had gnocchi... Best.ever! Love coming to Ignotz!!!!
The food, the staff, the ambiance. I come all the way from Milwaukee!!!
My husband & I were in Chicago this past weekend from central Indiana & our friends surprised us with a visit to Ignotz & the food was OUTSTANDING! Services was on point. I loved that the owner made his rounds to every guest's table and shook their hands and asked for feedback. Next time we are in town we will absolutely go back to Ignotz!
The eggplant parm was dynamite! Minestrone also very, very tasty! Can’t wait to go back!
I think they had the best food I have EVER eaten!!
Food was great. The owner came and checked on us and sand happy birthday. Will be back! Some food we ate is not pictured.
Amazing food huge portions spectacularly made to order fresh. The lunch prices are incredible for what they offer in portion size
Thought they were closed at first because of the alley entryway, but absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had. Sausage veggie soup was phenomenal, bread was amazing (the roasted garlic they give you with it is the best thing ever) and the stuffed shells were delicious. Only regret is we couldnt eat more.
my mom recommended ignotz and i finally got around to going!! not disappointed! the bread and garlic they give is so fire. im a simple gal so i just ordered meatballs and a salad, but i enjoyed my meal.
waitress was very kind.
cute place inside and out.
Mind you this was my first time ever trying pasta from Little Italy with a friend of mine. We had dinner reservations and were treated with the best service! Also, the owner was kind enough to give us dessert and checked in with his guests at all times. Will definitely recommend this spot in the future to colleagues.
My sister just had a surprise birthday party here and about 30 people attended. What a fun night! The food was great! First course was calamari which was delicious! So much so my table ordered a second platter, mainly for me!! Second course was peppers and sausage. So so good! Third course was the chicken dish my sister loves and it was quite yummy but not my favorite (calamari was!). Pasta was served as well. The staff who took care of us were great! They danced with us, cut the cake and served everyone promptly. I had a great time and it's a great place to have a party.
Coming to Ignotz’s was like visiting an aunt and an uncle that we had not seen for a long time, but longed to meet again. The family feel was welcoming, warm and friendly.
Shorty after having been seated, tasty breadsticks with olive oil and wonderful grilled garlic was served. We all ordered Caesar salad with our main course, served quickly with very good homemade croutons.
When the dinner plates were brought to us, we all thought the servings were very generous. The biggest joy was tasting and eating some of the best Italian cuisine I have ever tasted. We tested Shrimp Versace, Lasagne, Veal Parmesan and Veal Alexis - and all four of us were very pleased.
Even though we were very satisfied, we could not say no when our charming server offers us homemade gelato - pistachios and chocolate. Mmmmm gooood!
We definitely want to come back😉
Our meal was worth every cent❣️
Hands down, best Italian food I’ve ever had. I had the chicken parmigian and the soup of the day (sausage and meatball) and it was fantastic. My fiancé got the stuffed gnocchi (2 1/2 orders with Alfredo & vodka sauce) and it was also fantastic. “The gnocchi was like eating tiny little clouds”. We got tiramisu for dinner and oh my god it was so good!!!! Our server Sammy was great. Even the owner came out and said hello; very welcoming environment overall with amazing food. About 20 bucks a plate, but you definitely get 20 bucks worth of food.
I’m coming back soon for sure.
We came shortly after they opened after the bears preseason game on a Saturday. My Dad is the only person who has been here before. Service was top notch. EVERYONE in there is friendly and outgoing. Our server was excellent. The Owner came over just to say hi and introduce himself. The food is excellent. We had Calamari for an appetizer. It was wonderful. I had Cheese Tortellini with marinara, my father had Meat Tortellini in meat sauce, and my cousins had the Chicken a la Tippi and the stuffed artichoke. All of the food was delicious. My cousin was raving that it was the best stuffed artichoke she's ever had. Would go back again and again!
Same great food and family feel! This is the real little Italy. Have everything and do enjoy the garlic and fresh bread. The tiramisu is heave. The owner still greets every table. Hadn't been in a decade and came back with not one change. It's a feel good place with feel good food. Always delicious special and they modify everything cause it's made FRESH and just for you.
