One of the best meals I have ever had! The attention to detail here is impeccable. The flavors and textures of each course were absolute perfection. We started with a selection of house made bread and assorted oils and butters. So delicious! Then we had the scallop ceviche appetizer which was so flavorful and unique, with a stunning presentation! I ordered the salmon entree, which was both beautiful and tasty. And finally we split a dessert, recommended by our wonderful server John, that was one of the most heavenly things I have ever eaten. And on top of that, the service was outstanding the entire evening. We can't wait to go back here the next time we are in Chicago!
This is a decent lunch option in the business district if you are meeting clients or having a business meeting. I'm giving it above average 3.75 stars because although it's not an establishment I would think of if am meeting friends for a casual lunch or a drink. and and......Why? Because the prices are a bit too high for the quality and service you get but this again is a perfect spot for a business lunch.
It is very spacious so getting a table should not be an issue although they did seem busy during the lunch hour on Thursday.
Tried the lobster salad/soup and the cheese burger which both hit the spot
My sister and I went for dinner and had the five course chefs special. We started off with a pouf that was ok...I had no idea what was in it. For a Saturday night, I was surprised that we were able to get a table as all other places did not have availability. The drinks were ok and the food was ok as well. I was surprised at how many "gifts" came out of the kitchen for us to try. The price for dinner plus the two drinks made it a little steep for one person but it averaged what other places were.
Went here for New Years Eve. Excellent service and especially loved the cocktails! Most of the food was delicious, but feel the appetizers were much better executed in terms of flavor and presentation than the mains. Price was pretty spot on for the flavors, portion size and flare they put into presentation.
Amazing restaurant. Had the caviar service - amazing. Had the bread, amazing. Wife had the salad and I had the soup, both were very good. Had the duck entree, it was huge and amazing. The seared duck breast, duck confit wellingtons and duck potatoes.
This is a really great fine dini g Restaurant. I came very late but they had so much patience because I started to like the menucard too much and ordered 4 different things. This Restaurant is really top and serves it's dishes on a high level. Thank you so much for a great evening. Congrats to the whole straff.
The smoked wings were delicious. The jalapeño poppers were out of the world. Then beefvtacis were just right. The ambience was electric. And one can't go wrong with the two hearted ale. So why the 4 stars. It was busy and just a small thought that we could have been attended to, better. Nestled in the Gray building, Steadfast is definitely a find.
My husband and I were starving but had to catch a show early afternoon, limiting our time to explore for brunch. We ended up saving time and visited Steadfast because it is connected to the Kimpton Hotel.
When we arrived it wasn't very busy, we sat directly at the bar and enjoyed some very fresh and tasty mimosas. We shared the Pork Belly and Mushroom Skillet (scrambled eggs) and a Ham and Cheese Danish.
The skillet was a very good size and all the flavors were so savorous! The mushrooms gave it a very unique taste and the pork belly was so good it makes my mouth water thinking about it. Everything went so well together, this dish has to be one of my favorites! The Danish was okay, very little meat and cheese and brought out at room temperature. Not really recommended; however this place has such a great menu you are bound to find something that will meet (or exceed) your expectations.
The service was great, the food was delicious, but the prices are quite high...but, I can't stop thinking about how delicious that skillet was - I'd order it again!
The best gin and tonic I’ve ever had. Excellent service, exceptional flavors and good portions - you won’t want to leave anything on your plate regardless of how full you are, I’ll be back!
Wow. The ambiance. The menu. The food! Everything about Steadfast was amazing. My dinner choice was the Salmon dish. I was very pleased with my decision as it came out perfectly seasoned, as they do in Chicago. It had thinly (lengthwise) sliced cucumbers rolled up and pickled onions. The best part was the dash of caviar on the side which really enhanced the flavor of the delicious Salmon. Can't wait to go back!
Steadfast has a wonderful team that makes the dining experience very enjoyable. They are happy to walk you though the menu and offer advice tailored to your tastes. Get the pork chop it's phenomenal! Thank you for a great experience
The service and the food are exceptional! We came in for some light appetizers after getting caught in heavy rain. We had the wedge salad, the small order of artisan bread with an assortment of honey butter, herb oil, and pickled tomatoes. We also had the lavender honey cheese (I’ve forgotten the actual name) with delicious brioche buns. To top it off, our sever was thorough and asked us about any food allergies which is something we rarely get asked — we usually volunteer that info. They charged our mobile phones for us, and they also gave us some sweet goodies (pictured) as we exited. We will return!
Murder mystery with hubby 1920's theme and dinner after was excellent the presentation and service were beyond words!! I was stuffed GREAT FOOD
I had their 5 course tasting. It was some of the best dishes I had, good portions (not too small, not too big) and not too fussy with tiny things you can barely taste. Every dish had bold flavor and enjoyed every bite. I did find the lobster bisque, which was the first course to be not hot enough. The service was right, staff were friendly, and nice warm environment. I would visit again if possible, maybe to try their well known breads.
Great atmosphere and on-point service. Had the bread appetizer which was fresh and delicious, the butters were great. Smaller menu like some have mentioned but I felt it covered all options and I still had trouble deciding what I wanted! Filet was cooked perfectly and the water glasses and drinks were aplenty. The other guests loved the lamb and chicken entrees, we will definitely be back.
I met a friend here for a business lunch. We had a reservation. The place was empty when we arrived, but very busy by the time we were done, so we were glad we had reserved a table. The atmosphere was chic and appropriate for a business lunch: enough buzz to not feeling stuffy, but quiet enough for a professional conversation. Staff were attentive but unobtrusive. The menu had a nice range of lunch options and was reasonably priced. There were several salads and some sandwiches. There were plenty of familiar options, but also some with a twist. My friend ordered a garden chef's salad with chicken and enjoyed it; I had the curried chickpea sandwich, served with greens, and thought it was very tasty--a nice variation on a curried chicken salad sandwich.
Phenomenal food and phenomenal service! My wife and I had the 5 course tasting menu and walked away incredibly satisfied. Everything from the bread and butter selection through to the after dinner treats was delicious, and our waitress was knowledgeable and passionate about the food and wine as well. Next time we're in Chicago, I have a strong feeling we'll be back.

I had a great time at Steadfast. My Server Devan was friendly and very attentive. If you go during happy hour just buy a bottle for the table. It's 20% off.
My food was incredible! I ordered Salmon and smoked mashed potatoes. This was the perfect end for a long week. I went home full and happy.
I'll be back!
Really awesome menu for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Always get a dessert!
