The Octli (tall glass) is the best cocktail I've ever had! The chicken liver mousse was astounding as well, definitely recommend it. We came right at opening at 5pm on a Friday night and it was nice to have the place to ourselves with great music in the background. Great unpretentious vibe.
Genuinely spectacular cocktails. Every single person in my party loved what they ordered and we had a blast with the flavors. They are not your standard drinks but are made to take you to flavor town. Worth every single penny!
Drinks are very good and the menu is fun to peruse. You can't go wrong with anything. That said - for me, the service doesn't match the ambience. The room smelled stale and funky. Bartenders were extra casual - cutoff jeans and tank casual - and this doesn't match the decor or the quality of the drinks. Maybe not that big of deal to most, but Billy Sunday isn't coherent. Our bartender couldn't remember the happy hour specials and didn't offer to locate them. The app we ordered was missing part of what the menu stated and server brought it quickly when we asked. I'd expect this sort of 'help yourself' quality at a dive bar - but this isn't a dive bar. Or at least, I didn't think it was.

They have an ever changing menu that has had fun new things to try every time I have visited alongside some excellent takes on classics (you have to try their negroni) and a truly fantastic atmosphere.

The cocktails are creative and terrific and the food is splendid. Old-school, dark-wood-panel vibes mixed with creative cocktail combos and stellar food!
As for drinks, Salty Dog and Tea Time were surprisingly strong. Box Lunch tasted like cinnamon toast crunch just as the waitress said it would. I was very hesitant to try the Papa Don't Peach since it had egg white in it, but I tried and it wasn't bad! I don't remember anything about Kent or Baby Darlin', but I know I tried them.
As for food, our group tried the gooey butter cake, which was good as a standalone cake with the berry compote, but not a gooey butter cake by any means. It was too dry. It tasted like a slice of vanilla cake with jam.
Overall, a great place for drinks and some small/large plates - or, in our case, drinks and dessert.
Really enjoyable place for cocktails. Food options were too slim for snacking. Provided the bartender with two spirits and allowed them to craft away... I was not disappointed which is definitely the mark of a skilled mixologist. The mood/environment was cozy and romantic.
Nice little place to unwind. I was never the one for a trendy unique cocktails but I have to admit these were pretty good. Place does get busy soon as it opens so plan ahead. Will be going back
Stopped in here for a quick drink with a friend who drinks spirit-free only. I was incredibly impressed with my vintage amaro daiquiri (coming complete with bottle and quick 101 on how to date it), but even more impressed with the care put into their non-alcoholic beverages to still be well-crafted cocktail experiences. Will definitely be back soon!
Ordered a cocktail and a cheese plate. Everything was great but I'd make a few tweaks to the menus. Too many of the cocktails contained an amaro component, a couple more crushable cocktails would make more sense, especially for summertime. The cheese plate was delicious but it could have a soft cheese en lieu of two hard salty ones. There could be seasoned nuts in place of two dried fruits as well. The bread and cracker bowl was a pleasant surprise. Quite a few couples from what it looks like. Cool varied playlist, never knew what I was going to expect. Service was attentive and warm, good job you guys!

I live around the corner and have always liked stopping by here for a cocktail once in awhile. The last time I went this weekend as I walked in they mentioned they were about to close…I totally understand that and respect that employees of course have their own lives/families. I was craving an old fashioned or wine and the bartender was able to sell me a fancy sealed Billy Sunday old fashioned drink to take home. I was so excited for this, because I ended up getting a local business owned drink which I could enjoy at home- and the best part of it all was that it tasted amazing. It’s a smaller bottle but can make about 3-4 drinks from it- more people should know about this. It’s a hidden gem.
OHHHH Billy Sunday how I love you. This is arguably the best cocktail bar in Chicago, as they have a creative menu with very meticulously curated cocktails. They have everything within your budget and the staff is fantastic. Not to mention, this is probably the best vibe in Logan Square and welcomes just about every crowd.
I stopped in after getting less than stellar reception at a location around the corner. I let the host know I had limited time for a quick drink, as I was headed to a show. She was friendly, welcoming and I was handed a menu as soon as I sat down (not the case at the other place, which shall remain nameless). She introduced herself, gave me time to look over the menu. When I asked for bartender's choice of the Amaros (my reason for going to Billy Sunday: their fantastic Amaro selection and bartender knowledge), she asked a few questions about preferences and poured me a glass that did not disappoint. I also had a non-alcoholic drink, which was nicely flavored and very refreshing. Great prompt friendly and un-stuffy service. It's always a pleasure.
Billy Sunday has super creative and tasty cocktails. They also have an excellent amari collection. Great vibes, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. We try to come by anytime we're in Chicago.
Always amazing. Got some summer specials - first a twist on a corpse reviver with coconut and a swizzle kind of vibe and then a nice lil rose gin/rose sparkling/lychee delight.
Great place for pre or post drinks and a small plate. Not a spot for dinner.
Duck Rillette was amazing, but better for a spring or summer menu than winter/late fall. Mushrooms and toast was a misfire - mushrooms drowned out by black pepper.
Cocktails seem to be the move but great selection of after dinner drinks (broad selection of amaro and whisk(e)y). Wine list is short on variety but offers quality options.

This isn't ordinary whiskey bar at all so much detailed inside and works of art cocktails. A lots of exceptional old whiskey and craft cocktails.
